Chapter 100: Chapter 0100 Bright Moon Lake [Part 1]
Tie Mu, upon hearing Luan Fei’s words and seeing that icy look in his eyes, grew angry and said, "Who do you think you are, wanting to compete with us fairly? Scram from my sight right now, or I’ll beat you up, believe it or not!"
Luan Fei looked decent, but it was clear he was all bark and no bite. Facing the tower-like Tie Mu, his eyelids twitched nervously.
"Remember what you just said, a fair competition," Luan Fei warned again.
Chu Feng said disdainfully, "We don’t need any tricks to deal with you."
"Then let’s see the results when the time comes!" Luan Fei threw down those harsh words, glanced at Tie Mu’s fists, large as bowls, and turned to leave.
"He is such a petty person, I should’ve hit him earlier," Tie Mu said disdainfully.
Han Chunsheng said, "Violence can’t solve everything, he was just trying to provoke you. If it weren’t for Chu Feng stepping forward to advocate for a fair competition, his plan might have succeeded."
While Tie Mu was good at martial arts, when it came to scheming, he was out of his depth.
"Old Han, what do you mean? What tricks does he have?"
Han Chunsheng adjusted his glasses and said, "He was clearly trying to anger us, and the most impulsive among us is you. If he continued with more offensive words, would you have endured it?"
Tie Mu said, "Of course not. If he dares to utter another nonsense, I’d definitely throw him off the building."
Han Chunsheng said, "That’s exactly the problem. He wants you to hit him. By doing so, he would gain sympathy and also demoralize our side. If you were to hit him, he would surely tell everyone that you threatened him to not let him become the class president. Then, what do you think our classmates would think?"
"Even if the situation isn’t as such, the classmates might believe it is. And because you acted with violence, you would definitely face consequences. We’d then have to run around dealing with your issue; do you think we’d have time to compete with him for the class president position? He could even use your situation to threaten us."
Tie Mu, after hearing Han Chunsheng’s analysis, hadn’t realized there was so much to consider and clenched his teeth in anger.
Of course, Chu Feng, having understood all these details, spoke of competing fairly with Luan Fei.
"Damn it. After the election for class president is over, I’ll make sure he realizes Grandpa Tie isn’t so easy to mess with," Tie Mu gritted his teeth and said.
"Chu Feng, don’t worry, I’ve got the girls’ side handled, defeating him will be easy!" Qi Houbo boasted with a pat on his chest.
Tie Mu said, "We fully support you."
Chu Feng gave a slight smile and said, "Thinking about these things is still early. We have two weeks left. Let’s first go back and get ready for tomorrow’s military training."
"Right!"
The four returned to their dorm and prepared their gear for the military training. After all, since they were going to a military camp, there were many things to prepare.
After they had finished preparing, the four of them went for a meal. Then Qi Houbo took Tie Mu with him to start working on the girls.
Meanwhile, Han Chunsheng stayed in the dorm playing LOL. Chu Feng wasn’t very skilled at the game, but he could tell that Han Chunsheng was very good at it. His fingers were extremely agile, and within just two minutes, he cooperated with another player to get the first blood.
Chu Feng had originally thought Han Chunsheng was mainly a support in life, but it turned out he was primarily a support in the game as well.
This was entirely a matter of personality, and all Chu Feng could do was shake his head.
Just as Chu Feng was about to call An Rongrong to report the situation, his phone rang first.
Seeing that it was Xie Mengying calling, Chu Feng sighed helplessly.
"You have five minutes. I’m waiting for you at the school’s artificial lake. If you don’t come, don’t expect to have a peaceful life throughout your four years here," Chu Feng heard Xie Mengying’s unfriendly tone as soon as he answered the call.
Chu Feng could only respond with a wry smile to Xie Mengying’s threat.
After hanging up, Chu Feng hurried downstairs and ran toward the artificial lake.
As he ran, Chu Feng thought to himself that Xie Mengying wasn’t this barbaric when she was the president.
"It seems being in power means having two faces; this now must be the real Xie Mengying," he figured out after a moment’s thought.
When she was the president, after all, she was a leader. Without a certain level of authority, how could she lead the school?
The artificial lake at East River University was funded by alumni for the school’s fiftieth anniversary.
No one expected that while digging the artificial lake, they would accidentally discover a natural spring, which solved the water source issue all at once. A geomancer even came and said it was a place where the Earth Vein converged.
Though not everyone believed this, since it was a good omen, the school community was very happy.
And indeed, the spring was miraculous, as in the past two years when East River suffered severe droughts that dried up many rivers, this spring continued to produce water.
This made Bright Moon Lake a landmark of East River University.
By the time Chu Feng arrived at Bright Moon Lake, the glittering waves bathed in bright moonlight slightly stirred his spirit.
"Such a rich presence of Spiritual Energy, perfect for cultivation."
However, this thought merely flashed through Chu Feng’s mind. What he needed now was to find Xie Mengying.
Bright Moon Lake was considered a romantic Holy Land, especially on summer nights like this, where countless couples gathered.
But soon, Chu Feng spotted Xie Mengying, as she stood out strikingly while sitting there.
Dressed in a pristine white maxi dress and barefoot, her delicate feet as tender as fresh bamboo, she sat on the edge of Bright Moon Lake, casually slapping the water’s surface. Her crystal high-heeled sandals lay aside, complementing the moonlight like an elf under the night sky, a vision of absolute beauty.
There were indeed many other female students by the lake in white dresses, but they all lacked a certain ethereal quality.
Chu Feng walked over to Xie Mengying, sat down next to her, and said with a smile, "Sister Mengying, aren’t you afraid you’ll poison the fish in the lake with your foot bath?"
Xie Mengying, startled by Chu Feng’s comment but recognizing him, recalled what he just said and, annoyed, raised her fist and punched at him.
Chu Feng saw the punch coming and dodged to the side.
"Ah!"
With that dodge, Xie Mengying missed her target but lost her balance, swaying and then falling into the lake.
This scared Xie Mengying out of her wits, but just as she closed her eyes, preparing to get wet, she felt a strong arm wrap around her waist and hold her firmly.
"Sister Mengying, you don’t have to jump into the lake just because you can’t hit me," Chu Feng teased, his voice ringing in her ears.
Feeling the warmth from Chu Feng’s breath, Xie Mengying’s cheeks reddened involuntarily.
"Let go of me," Xie Mengying chided.
"Ah!"
Suddenly, Chu Feng let go, and Xie Mengying’s body plunged towards the lake again.
"Hehe!"
Just as Xie Mengying closed her eyes again, she heard Chu Feng’s mocking laughter.
"Pull me up," Xie Mengying demanded angrily.
Chu Feng securely resettled Xie Mengying, and just as he was about to sit back, he felt his waist being pinched fiercely.
"Does this count as being ungrateful, biting the hand that feeds, Sister Mengying?" Chu Feng grimaced.
"It’s because you teased me!"
"Pah!"
"Pah!"
"You are the dog, and you dare accuse me? I’ll strangle you."
Eventually, Chu Feng begged for mercy, and Xie Mengying temporarily spared him.
"Sister Mengying, you should get your feet out of the water. Although it’s hot, the lake is still cold and it’s not good for your health," Chu Feng said gently.
Warmed by Chu Feng’s caring words, Xie Mengying felt touched, but stubbornly chose not to heed his advice.
"My body is very healthy," Xie Mengying pouted.
Seeing Xie Mengying’s disbelief, Chu Feng could only say, "Sister Mengying, don’t you often feel abdominal pain, especially severe during that time of the month?"
Xie Mengying, startled, blurted out, "How did you know?"
But after asking, her face flushed red, ashamed that she was discussing such matters with a man.
Chu Feng, unfazed—as to a doctor there is no distinction of gender—explained, "This is due to cold in the womb, and the chill enters through your feet. Moreover, if it persists, it might even affect your quality of life."
Hearing this, Xie Mengying hurriedly pulled her feet out of the water. Chu Feng also took the opportunity to grasp her feet, using his Kung Fu to help dispel the cold, as he couldn’t just stand by and watch a friend suffer.
