Chapter 393: Chapter 0394: Destined to be Turbulent
Chu Feng eventually followed the people from the He Sheng Sect and left East River. Before he left, Chu Feng didn’t say goodbye to Cui Jingyan and the others, as he didn’t know what to say.
After Chu Feng left, East River seemed to grow less serene on the surface. Chu Feng had always been a point of balance, but now that this point had departed, the waters of East River were becoming murky.
In two months, it would be time for the family meeting, and the waters of East River would be thoroughly boiled to a fervor.
On He Sheng’s private jet, Chu Feng met He Sheng.
"Little Friend Chu, thank you for making the trip," He Sheng greeted him warmly.
Chu Feng replied, "No trouble at all, it’s all about making money."
With a hearty laugh, He Sheng said, "I like the honesty of Little Friend Chu’s words. I find that you and I are getting along better and better."
Chu Feng also smiled and then relayed the mission Huang Lan had given him.
When it came to friends, Chu Feng wasn’t one for much secrecy, and since He Sheng stood with Huang Lan, it was proper to let him know these things as a basis for cooperation.
After hearing Chu Feng’s account, He Sheng remarked, "Little Friend Chu, by telling me all this, you really treat me as a friend. Say no more; just go ahead with the task. After all, it’s all a gamble, and winning one means one less opponent."
Chu Feng smiled and said, "Elder He, I’ve always considered you a friend."
Upon hearing Chu Feng’s words, He Sheng quickly held himself accountable, saying, "I misspoke, I admit my fault. After we land, I’ll penalize myself with three drinks."
"You don’t have to punish yourself with three drinks. You’ve just started to recover from diabetes; it’s better not to drink too much," Chu Feng advised.
Excited, He Sheng responded, "Little Friend Chu, I haven’t properly thanked you for that. Thanks to your medicine, I’m no longer tormented by needles every day."
Chu Feng replied, "It was just a small effort."
"All the data for the boss has been compiled," a beautiful secretary said with a thick file in her hands as she approached He Sheng respectfully.
He Sheng pointed to Chu Feng, saying, "These files are all prepared for Little Friend Chu, just let him review them."
The secretary cast a curious glance at Chu Feng, but complied, bringing all the files before him.
Indeed, the secretary was quite beautiful, around 1.7 meters tall, dressed appropriately for work, with a model-like figure and an angelic face. Chu Feng couldn’t help but take a second look.
"Mr. Chu, this is the information for the World Gambling King competition. Please have a look," the secretary said as she placed the documents in front of Chu Feng.
Chu Feng didn’t take the documents but looked at He Sheng jokingly, "Elder He, with such a beautiful secretary by your side every day, surely the old tree is sprouting new leaves?"
Hearing Chu Feng’s words, He Sheng laughed and cursed, "I am already of such an age, and you’re still teasing me with these matters. Mahjong and the others have gone ahead to sort things out; I just temporarily found a secretary in the company."
Chu Feng quickly reached under the secretary’s skirt.
The secretary was quick to react, trying to press her legs together and angrily questioning, "Mr. Chu, please behave yourself!"
Chu Feng had already withdrawn his hand by the time she tried to clamp her legs together, but when he pulled back, he was holding a remote control.
"I’m not a pervert, and I have no interest in a viper like you. I wouldn’t want to sleep with you only to die without knowing how. Can you explain this remote control to me?" Chu Feng asked, playing with the remote control in his hand.
"Protect the boss!" The bodyguards who accompanied them rushed over at the first sign of trouble, forming a protective circle around He Sheng and restraining the secretary.
"Snap!"
Before the secretary could commit suicide by poison, Chu Feng had already swiftly pressed her acupoint.
After blocking her acupoint, Chu Feng told He Sheng’s bodyguards, "She has poison concealed in her teeth. Search the entire airplane, and do not overlook any detail.
"Do as Mr. Chu says," He Sheng ordered sternly.
"Yes!" The bodyguards all responded and dispersed to search every corner of the plane.
Soon, the bodyguards returned, one of them holding a woman’s handbag from which he pulled out a bottle of perfume and said, "Boss, this is the USA’s latest liquid bomb. It can fool airport security and all detection devices. It has enough power to blow up the entire airplane."
Upon hearing the bodyguard’s report, He Sheng sucked in a cold breath, feeling cold sweat breaking out on his back.
If it hadn’t been for Chu Feng accompanying him today, he might have been on his way to Western Heaven by now.
"Take her away and make sure to get the name of the person behind this from her mouth," He Sheng commanded through gritted teeth.
"Yes!" The bodyguards complied and escorted her away.
Before leaving, the secretary glared venomously at Chu Feng, as if she wanted to tear him to shreds.
"I know I’m handsome, but there’s no need to stare at me like that," Chu Feng teased.
After the secretary was led away, He Sheng clasped his hands together and said, "Little Friend Chu, I really owe you big time for saving my life this time. If it weren’t for you, this old man would probably be off to Western Heaven by now."
"It was just a small effort, and besides, saving you was like saving myself," Chu Feng remarked.
"Still," He Sheng continued, "one thing I don’t understand, how did you know she was a traitor?"
Pausing, He Sheng quickly added, "Little Friend Chu, don’t get me wrong; I don’t mean to imply anything else. I’m just curious, not suspicious of anything else."
Chu Feng smiled and said, "You’re overthinking it. It wasn’t that difficult to spot that something was off with her."
Chu Feng picked up the stack of documents from the floor, pointed to them, and said, "The problem lies within these documents themselves. Many details here are different from what I got from Dragon Soul, although those are details no one would notice. However, missing a single detail at the gambling table could mean losing the entire game. She probably didn’t know that I had already seen these details before she showed them to me."
Hearing Chu Feng’s explanation, He Sheng realized and said, "That makes sense now. Little Friend Chu, your attention to detail is admirable, otherwise, the consequences could have been unthinkable."
"But we just boarded the airplane and this has already happened. I’m afraid this trip to the USA won’t be very peaceful. You’d better be prepared for that," Chu Feng warned.
"I’ve been well aware of that," He Sheng replied, "and Mahjong and the others have already gone ahead to make arrangements. With their preparations, I believe this trip will be a bit safer."
Chu Feng nodded, but he wasn’t entirely convinced.
If someone could infiltrate his own plane, what about on someone else’s turf, arranging these things?
