In the kitchen of the Tohno mansion.

Gurgle! Gurgle!

The soup in the silver stainless-steel pot was boiling, the broth bubbling and churning.

The aroma of star anise, thirteen-spice, and braised meat filled the kitchen as the soup simmered.

However, the two figures in the kitchen were completely oblivious to the long-simmered broth.

A plain white apron was tied around Kohaku, covering the front of her body, but that was all she was wearing. Her smooth back, her pink, shoulder-length hair, and her perfectly proportioned figure were all on full display for Haru.

However, Haru’s attention was not on her body, but on her thin, rosy lips, still stained with lipstick.

A soft, whimpering moan escaped her lips. Haru leaned back against the kitchen partition, a look of contentment on his face.

"Gently, no teeth. Yes, just like that," Haru said, gently patting Kohaku’s head, offering some guidance.

Just then, Fujino, in white pajamas with a Pikachu pattern, dragging a Charmander plushie by its tail, entered the kitchen.

Fujino ignored Haru and Kohaku’s surprised faces and, with a wronged expression, called out to Haru. "Big Brother, I can’t sleep!!"

Haru patted Kohaku’s head, signaling her to continue, then turned to the wronged-looking Fujino. "Didn’t Big Brother make a doll to keep little Fujino company? Why can’t you sleep?"

Haru looked at Fujino with exasperation. He’d used Touko’s superb puppet-making skills and his own Fourth Magic, creation from nothing, to make a doll that, aside from lacking abilities and physical strength, was a perfect replica of him.

He’d even infused it with a sliver of his soul to lull Fujino to sleep. Normally, it shouldn’t have been a problem.

"A big sister with brown hair stole my pillow!!!" Fujino said, her voice a wronged cry.

Then, she added, "And she kissed my forehead!"

"Huh?" Haru was instantly bewildered.

————

Aoko, her body hunched, moved quickly through the forest, dodging the towering trees in her path. After a few dozen breaths, she leaped lightly, landing in the clearing in front of the Kuonji residence.

"This should be far enough!" Aoko took out the small vial from her pocket, and a thoughtful expression crossed her face.

"If I let him out, and he runs away..." Aoko looked at the storage vial in her hand, then at the cold, old mansion ahead, and swallowed hard.

"I’ll be killed." Aoko’s teeth chattered.

The mansion before her was a precious memento left to Alice by her parents, a treasure she held most dear. If she started a chase here, Aoko was willing to bet that her overpowered aiming skills would ensure that her magic bullets would hit the massive mansion.

"Hiss!! And if those four brats at the mansion on the hill call the police, they’ll definitely search this area. So, where should I take care of the witness!!" Aoko tossed the small vial in her hand, her brow furrowed in thought.

"Right!" Aoko caught the vial, squeezed it tight, and headed down the mountain.

————

Aoko looked up at the dark, dilapidated sign of the Amusement Park, a smirk on her face. "Still as desolate as ever."

A super-giant amusement park, covering three hundred and fifty thousand square meters, with all the usual rides. It should have been bustling with activity, even at night. But due to the economic bubble, the amusement park had gone bankrupt. And now, after years of neglect, the amusement park had become a no-man’s-land in Misaki Town. It was for this reason that Aoko had chosen to come here.

Because if you killed someone and buried the body here, unless they demolished the place, it would never be found.

"This is it!!" Aoko walked to the maze entrance on the side of the amusement park, carrying a bucket of water. She blocked the maze entrance and smashed the storage vial on the ground inside.

Thwack—!

The small vial shattered instantly, and ’Haru,’ in his Pikachu-patterned pajamas, appeared before Aoko.

Splash—!

With a thrill of long-awaited revenge, Aoko poured the entire bucket of water over ’Haru’s’ face.

His closed eyes snapped open, and his cold, emotionless, deep gray pupils swept over Aoko.

"You’re awake?" Aoko crossed her arms, her well-endowed chest straining against her clothes, a teasing look on her face.

"Connecting to main body—

Consciousness synchronization—

Partial ability synchronization—

—Connection complete."

"Hey, aren’t you surprised to see me?" Aoko looked at the impassive Haru with annoyance. The panicked sputtering and terrified screams she’d imagined were nowhere to be seen. She was exceptionally displeased.

"You’re... the compensated dating girl from this afternoon?" Haru, his consciousness having just been poured into the puppet, asked with surprise.

Boom—!

An azure magic bullet grazed Haru’s hair and slammed into the maze wall, blasting a soccer-ball-sized crater in it.

"Compensated dating my ass!!!" Aoko’s forehead bulged with veins, and she roared with rage.

She took a few deep breaths, her face turning cold. "As I thought, I hate guys like you who can mess with my emotions!"

Without waiting for Haru to reply, Aoko continued, her face cold.

"Let me explain the situation. The day before yesterday, in the old town park, you saw something you shouldn’t have. To keep the secret, I must kill you here. Remember, the one who kills you is Aoko Aozaki, an immature True Magic User."

"When you get to hell, remember the name of the one who killed you. If you become a vengeful ghost and come after me, I’ll take you on, and then send you back to hell."

Aoko explained the reason slowly, her tone measured. This was her style: tell the target why they were being killed, then engage in a life-or-death duel, like two fencers.

Of course, in Aoko’s eyes, this was a one-sided hunt, like a hunter and its prey.

A glowing azure magic bullet appeared in Aoko’s hand. The Magic Crest on her right arm flared to life, all its circuits activated. She always remembered the principle of using all her strength, even to hunt a rabbit.

"Oh, is that so? By the way, what did you use to bring this body here?" Haru asked with surprise. Though it had been brief, she had managed to sever his connection to the puppet. To him, this was a very surprising phenomenon.

If he understood how, he could take precautions against such a technique in the future. So, he asked.

"Huh? Is that your last wish?" Aoko looked at Haru with surprise.

To her, such a question was completely irrelevant. So, she paused for a moment, then pointed to the shattered vial on the ground.

"Here, this thing, it’s a replica of that... what’s it called... oh, the Genie’s lamp! It mimicked its function and brought you here," Aoko said with a shrug.

Then, a faint smile appeared on her face, a smile filled with the thrill of revenge. "Now, it’s time to send you on your way, Mister."

"Oh? If you can survive my pursuit, I wouldn’t mind a little compensated dating with you," Aoko said, a wicked grin spreading across her face.

"Oh, that’s a very tempting offer, Mister," Haru said, his lips curving into a dangerous smile.

Before Haru could finish, an azure magic bullet shot straight for his face.

At the same time, Haru, unhurriedly, took out a milky-Genie’s lamp, its surface shrouded in mist, and, his expression calm, he shouted,

"Aoko Aozaki!!!"
