Building My Guild With A Blank Scroll -
Chapter 76: Leaving It In Flames
Chapter 76: Leaving It In Flames
The village of Tilon didn’t have much of a bustle going on, though the village wasn’t all that silent either. A few carts could be, seen moving out and entering into the city. These vehicles were being driven by middle age and old men, some women. Trade wasn’t an easy feat in these villages, as the established markets were in the towns and cities. However, one or two merchants did pass by from time to time. After all, the produce was far cheaper at the source than anywhere else.
At the far edge of the village where the hilly landmarks lay, the chief’s residence could be seen.
"Welcome, sir." The guards in leather gear with spears at the entrance, bowed to greet as he went past them and through the open gate.
He was a fairly muscular figure with a feared presence commanding respect which was much earned. Walking through the chief’s residence, he was greeted by numerous maids. They weren’t old, all being young adults and teenagers. Each of them belonging to the chief as they said, thus spared from the pillages.
Heading towards the tallest among the rest where they chief and his family were known to live. He was suddenly stopped by a figure on his way up the stairs into the building.
"Welcome Lord Tham, you seem all tired from your journey." The scarlet haired slender figure said, emerging from the side of the building with a group of maids following behind.
She wore a purple gown which matched perfectly with the colour of her eyes, filled with nothing but a delicateness..
"Elena, it’s always nice to see you." Tham said, giving a slight bow as he did.
"Mmhm." Drawing closer, she seemed distracted with her eyes darting around the area. Yet noticing her searching gaze, he knew who she was searching for.
"Alden and the others are heading to another district for business." He stated.
"Oh...I guess, it’s me and myself once again then." She raised her hands and glanced at them, her face going red for a second there. "Ah, are you here to see father then?"
"Yes, I am. I do require some stuff." Tham responded, his tone not being similar to that of someone who wanted a conversation.
"Oh, why bother father then? I’ll let the maids fetch them for you while we—" Elena stood there stunned, the maids having the same reaction. While staring at the exact spot Tham stood at, those behind her were looking around and touching their faces as they couldn’t believe their eyes.
’Ahh, he run away from me! He favours her more than me— why do I get this from everyone!’
"I hate you! I hate you! Hmph!" Fuming, she stormed off angrily with her train of maids.
Arriving at the entrance to the building was none other than Tham, making his way into the building and walking briskly. He suddenly pulled himself back, when a hand popped out of no where just as he was about entering.
"Tham! I missed you, so so much!" A voice peered with the figure which the hands belonged to emerging. Relaxing as his senses were heightened a second ago, he smiled briefly noticing who it was.
"Anna, aren’t you supposed to be resting up?" His voice was soft and as he spoke his gaze fell on the her protruding belly.
"Who can rest when Little Rhan here misses your touch too." Rubbing her tummy as she spoke, her pair of dark emerald eyes like her hair, held a certain trace of softness and warmth. Anna looked quite young, having a well carved out slender body with ample goodies on both sides. As she was a damsel probably in her late 40s or early 50s.
"Hmm, he wouldn’t have to be missing it much anymore." Tham drew closer to her, and instinctively, she opened up her arms to receive him.
"But I missed you more than— huh" She felt a light pat on her head, noticing the other walk right past her.
"Good." He mumbled audibly and added as he continued on his way. "Lemme round up everything first, Anna."
A bit disappointed, she turned to follow him back inside the building where, the chief resided.
"Mmmm so great, good job wives, mmm this is the life—haaa!" Seated on a large wooden throne-like chair was a fat and potbellied old man probably nearing his mid 140s. He was a spiritualist and one of the lower levels, being one who assumed his current position at an early age. Thus, boycotting leveling and cultivating had rendered him at the Enhanced Absorber power level.
The room was quite empty with only five people, one being the chief himself and the other four— his wives. Knelt down before him and busy working around his lower regions were three of his wives. While the other had her hands around his shoulders, massaging and making him, as comfortable as possible.
*CREAK!
The doors groaned as they slid open, drawing the attention of everyone.
"Didn’t I tell you to not let anyone ent—" Scrunching his face, infuriated by the sudden interruption, his words were bottled up in his mouth. Noticing, the door’s guards assigned earlier writhing and gripping their stomachs in pain. He could only guess what would have him, all fueled up by now.
Quickly waving his wives away from him as they pulled up their gowns and went to his side. He made to stand up when in the blink of an eye, Tham was right before him with his hands stretched out towards him.
"Ah—" Not having a chance to even part his lips nor react in anyway.
*BASH!
He was slammed into the chair which failed to break, though it wasn’t intended to. Yet even if it was, it still wouldn’t have, unless a larger force was applied since it was crafted with oakwood.
*ACK!
"Lord Tham! Please!" A voice came from behind him as he held down the old man by the neck. Ignoring it, his grip tightened around him as his pupils slowly began to change in colour.
"Thack– Tha–Tham... let’s... let’s talk... let’s talk... ple–please." He barely managed to say, unable to fight back as death seemed to draw near. Now he’d wished he’d taking his leveling seriously, as he wouldn’t die like this without being able to throw a single punch back— how pathetic. If he was a disgrace for a spiritualist then what else would fit better.
’Only if I was a Manipulator at least. Maybe, I would be able to have lived longer.’ He thought to himself, probably having forgotten he hadn’t ever crossed the Absorber Power Level.
Slowly, the world faded away, the pain and loss of breath from being strangled barely being felt. Everywhere was dark, he couldn’t feel any parts of his body anymore as he was now dead.
"Nooo, why did you kill him?!!" Letting go of the body, it dropped onto the ground lifeless.
"Noo, noo— you shouldn’t have done that, you shouldn’t have Tham! You shouldn’t!" Anna broke down, unable to believe what had just happened as her legs grew wobbly and soon she was dropping down.
Quick enough, he caught her mid-fall with his gaze going to the other four in the room. "You three, send her to her chambers right away."
The three with their almost dead eyes stood still without moving an inch, almost as if they hadn’t heard him.
’Ugh, how could I forget how they’ve become. I’ll let her handle them.’ He glanced at the other figure behind the chair and with a simple nod, she spoke.
"Kruger Tilon is dead." Her words seemed to have jogged something in them, as they turned to look at the body and then each other.
"Master, who killed master?" The trio asked in unison.
"Lord Tham..." They all turned towards Tham, barring their teeth fiercely when the next words suddenly changed them.
"... your new Master."
"Slave greets, Master."
"Slave greets, Master."
"Slave greets, Master."
The darkest secret of the Slaver Clans— slaves. The hunters despised then for their brutal beast taming or enslaving methods. However, if this was to be also known then probably all the empires and kingdoms would have wiped them out.
"Take Lady Anna to her chambers." Upon hearing his words they began to move and helping up the half-knocked out woman. They were soon out if the room, leaving the two back in there.
’I’d better give them names later on after this.’ He thought as he watched them leave his line of view.
"Rumel?" He turned to look at the woman beside the body, as she seemed to have already got to work in preparing it to be disposed.
"Yes Master Tham." She stood up and held her face down.
"You’ve done well keeping things here in order, I just have one more task for you."
"Your wish is my command." She stated, having no of fear or any emotion in her tone.
Quite satisfied with the reply, he gave the order. "Bring me the Thorn Guild’s Command Seal— here’s the list of their elites."
"Yes Master, I shall bring you the guild by daybreak."
"No, tonight. We head for Renville by daybreak."
Rumel paused for a second, yet she was in no position to protest anyways.
"Yes Master Tham, I will"
’You wanted Tilon, so I’ll give you one with a little gift attached to it— a flaming Tilon.’
