Chapter 59: First Rule Of The Mansion
In the dinning hall, the two siblings Jaisal and Elena sat on the opposite sides of the table staring at their cousin. Looking at each other’s faces, they followed his gaze which was situated on the tray before them. On it was a partially devoured tray of chicken, and as they watched him lick up his lips in anticipation, a smile crept up their faces..
"Fine have it too." Jaisal said, pushing the tray to his side, yet having gotten a refill he was no where done. As his eyes still searched around the table, for any more of it free to be added up would be gladly welcomed. Soon, he found another, a full plate of ham and so without hesitation he reached to grab it when something caught his eye.
Looking from the plate to the chair before it with someone seated on it, Zlatan’s burrows furrowed the confusion suddenly twisting into fear for a reason he couldn’t tell.
"Who– who– who are you?" He stuttered, the figure with her legs raised to her head rocking up and down in a white gown stopping upon hearing his words. Turning towards Zlatan, her blue amber eyes had a certain aura around it, one almost invisible to the naked eye. Yet Zlatan could tell the aura she bore, but not the person he was looking at.
’He– he spoke to her?’ Across the table, Elena could be seen wide eyed as her thoughts spun around, shocked to the core with what had happened before her.
’The first rule of the mansion.’ It made no sense that Zlatan who among those who never even saw her. In fact, her being more than the word invisible to him, he had been the one to have rather spoken to her instead.
"Wait, she has her ear muffs right? She always does but wasn’t he too close to be heard?"
"What did Zlatan just say? I’m I the only one who heard it?" Jaisal thought, glancing around, he could see Bella in her usual absolute concentration mode— currently out of this world almost like her mother, though she did return back to reality. Elena on the other hand was a lost cause simply staring and seemingly waiting for her long awaited ending. While Zlatan also, the young lord, was being held up by the throat by his aunt— wait!
"Aunt Clara stop!" Jaisal yelled out, immediately drawing her gaze from her current captive to him. Gulping down hard, his hands went to his back, resting on the handle of the weapon. He watched as she dropped the obese son of hers and climbed up the table on all fours.
’Why was she trying to kill me? What am I even saying, it still felt like I’d die though I already am.’ Zlatan coughed, almost choking on the pieces of meat which had still been in his mouth then.
"Where... is she?" His searching gaze found no trace of her around.
"Aunt Clara, please come down. We aren’t a threat to you. " Jaisal backed away a step at a time, as turning wasn’t part of an option and neither did he want to trip while rushing his steps.
"Her ear muffs weren’t in? Who got them out, this is really bad."
He had one hand at his back as he spoke, staring straight into those blue eyes of hers. The air around her was violent, including the spiritual energy of course. Her teeth were bared, veins all over her face as she resembled a wild beast.
"Aunt Clara." Elena’s voice was heard as the other was at the edge of the table and about pouncing on her brother.
"What’s wrong with you?" Jaisal voiced, scolding her loudly, as she seemed to barely hear him.
’Elena can’t protect herself.’Immediately, after having drawn her attention, Clara made to move towards her next target when she suddenly stopped. "Yuuhoo, Aunt Clara!"
*GRRRR!
She turned back once again, heading for him. "Aunt Clara, I called you first." Elena’s voice was heard once again, as Clara’s target switched also.
"That’s a blatant lie, I called you first Aunt, remember?"
"Grrr?"
"Yeah yeah yeah, but I want to talk to her. Aunt, please come over."
"Grrr?!"
"Huh, talk to her, does she look like someone who wants to talk?!"
"She does!"
"She doesn’t!"
"Ahh, you’re so annoying, she’s coming to me no matter what." Elena retorted.
"Hah, bet me. Auntie stays with me." Jaisal short back at her.
"Um, is everything going alright here?" Zlatan stopped there his eyes moving left and right as they exchanged words. Not being the only one able to keep up, having herself being confused on her selected targets over and over again. "Grrr! Grrr!"
"Aaaaahhhhhhhh!!! Shut up!!! Shut up all of you!!! Just shut up!!!"
"Mother?!" Bella’s concentration was shattered hearing her mother’s voice, her eyes shifting to the screaming woman on the table with both hands holding her head. Around her the area could be seen distorting, something which was similar to a manifestation of one’s aura.
"Mother?" Zlatan had heard Bella’s words, yet nothing came to mind as he seemingly had no memory of her. ’I always had a mother? One with a Platinum Aura— that’s simply unbelievable.’
"My hand still hurts, at least it was worth it after all." Kezia tried to rub her throbbing hand with the other only to be met with a sharp pain. "Eeek!"
She was walking through the garden at the back of the mansion, heading towards the Maid Quarters at the Enclave. Held tight with her hand and belt, she kept the item hidden from any prying eyes while also trying not to be weirder than she was.
Deciding to use the garden tall bushes as cover since the main pathway was quite busy with other maids chattering away or undertaking their daily activities. Looking left then right, she quickly hopped in, her eyes still searching and alert. Only to take a few steps just to collide with a wall, one made from sold muscles.
*THUD!
She fell butt first, the object she was trying to keep hidden dropping too. "Sorry, I didn’t see you." Seeing someone bump into him, the figure apologized and stretched out his hands towards her, an object falling from him also without him noticing.
"Colin?"
"Kezia?"
"What are you —" They both said at the same time, Kezia’s face flushing pink.
"You go first."
"No, you go first. You did the bumping after all."
"Yeah... I’m– so sorry, I was in a rush." She hid her face, noticing the other’s hand was still stretched to help her up. Kezia was soon up on her feet, and dusting the dirt off she noticed it was gone.
"Oh, there it is." She reached down for it, Colin doing the same when their heads bumped into each other.
"Ouch!" They fell back on the grass, glancing it at each other Colin broke our in laughter while Kezia went redder than before. ’So handsome.’ Her heart raced looking at him, and between both of them. Two identical dark purple scrolls could be seen, separated apart by a few inches.
