Chapter 49: An Escape–3

In the open streets, one which was less busy as it wasn’t the main ones, yet led to them. Six figures could be seen, two older with the others around the same age nearing thirty years.

"Bastard! You think you can bump into me and get away." One of the two kicked and stomped on another who did nothing but coil up to protect his vital parts. He soundlessly took their beating, with no tears, no attempt to fight back and no blame towards them.

’They were right, I’m a bastard and that word was much more said than my name, there’s no need to remind me.’ He had just wanted to grab a few sticks of his favourite gizzards with the bronze coins he’d earned from a side job he’d taken on alongside the others.

The streets had been crowded and as it was a popular joint, he needed to hurry. However, it was an accident yet these nobles just had to track him down here to thrash him up— if that was all they even wanted.

’Was mercy erased from their brains?’

"So filthy, I’d puke! Kill him already Rian." Another, a female of the same age and in a fitting noble knee-length gown exclaimed, her hands covering up her mouth.

"I’ll grant your wish, My Lady. Klein, your sword!" The second boy, also stomping on the figure below called out to one of the two armoured men.

Drawing out his blade, he went on a knee and gave it to the brown-haired teenager. However, after grabbing the hilt, the knight left it in his hands. The blade dropped the next second and sent him down with its weight.

"So weak, I’m disappointed. Hmph!"

"My– my lady I—"

"There they are!" a voice was heard, as everyone turned to look in the direction it came from.

’No, not Master. You’re all so stupid!’

Approaching four beaten-up children, the gray-haired young figure of Lo-an could be seen, adorned in a black and silver robe.

"They’re back again." The other brown-haired teenager scowled, his feet on the figure below him. "Beat them up and that adult with them."

With his order, the fully armoured knights walked towards the others, not deeming them to be worth their swords.

’A fist sigil, they’re are nobles.’

"Ugh, did you bastards have to pick a fight with candidates from a NobleHouse? You’re picky eh." Lo-an scolded, the four around him responding with innocent smiles.

"Hey you, if you love the life you have. Better leave with your bastards before, maybe the young master might reconsider his decisions." One of the knights, carrying a sword in his scabbard informed with his face hidden behind a helmet.

"Haa, such a relief to not get beaten."

"Eh, master?!"

"I’ll be right on my way like I was never here, just add up the bastard there and tadaa. You wouldn’t be seeing anymore if me, though I wouldn’t say much for these troublemakers."

"It seems your life means nothing to you.". The knights started a distortion of energy around their gauntlets.

"Wait, didn’t you say you’d let me off? Which NobleHouse does that?!"

The two looked at each other and then back at him. "Surrender your life."

"No one’s touching our Master here," Ral yelled out at the two.

"Yeah! You’ll have to go through us." Another, his hair was black and long added up.

*WHACK!

*WHACK!

"Didn’t get enough beating earlier huh, get behind me, you bastards!"

"Ouch, it hurts Master!" Ral rubbed his now aching head.

"You deserve it, tsk." Lo-an retorted, turning to look at the nearing duo. "It wouldn’t hurt to tell me which family I was blind enough to offend."

"In the name of Lord Yalen, kill that bloody wizard already!" A yell came from behind the two, taken aback by their young master’s words. ’A wizard?’

"NobleHouse Yalen, interesting. You do have some with keen eyes— quite sad indeed."

"Die!" The knights dashed forward, Lo-an unmoved even seeing their auras around their gauntlets, indicating them being a part of the Channeller Category.

"Let’s see your levels." He mumbled with two fingers on his left eye, now being seen with runes engraved on it.

"Ah, seems this would be easier than expected."

*************

"All Ground Units follow me!" The leader of three figures in gold and white armour barked, his hair red and eyes of the same colour but of a darker shade like his hair.

Hearing his commands, the guards in the large corridor on the ground floor began to follow up, heading out to the open.

The group continued past the fountain and out of the mansion to the gardens, calling out the Garden Units. About fifteen knights all in similar armour, their helms hanging from the sides of around their it. Forming a semi-circle, the three who’d called them out stood at the center.

"Now, Lord Kaleb requires a search be conducted all over the estate, we are obvious which parts of course." Diz, a bald figure and knight with a frame comparable to that of a boulder spoke out, the others nodding in response.

"We don’t know who this intruder is, that’s unless you’ve heard of anyone of that sort," Ral said, his voice audible to everyone’s hearing. Unlike the others, he had a smaller frame, and not much-revealing muscles though he could thrash each and everyone there with a hand behind his back.

"Anyone?!" Tav exclaimed, having black shoulder-length hair, a formidable structure and an average frame— neither bad nor good. His words received murmurs in return which equally represented a no.

"Good then, Diz and Tav head to the stables and armoury with ten men to get the horses and higher-tier weapons," Ral ordered.

"Horses? But—"

"You’ll never know when our target is already galloping away on a mount. We need some Lord Tiers, you never know the other’s level unless you’re a witch of course." Ral clarified his orders to the two and others, drawing out his sword.

"Get me the Shattering Roar, Brother." He handed the weapon to Tav. As per his orders, the knights were selected, leading them through the garden to the camp. Both took their separate paths around the mansion, one left and the other right while the guards were also equally distributed amongst them.

"Now ladies! Turn the gardens upside down if that’s what I’d cost, let’s get busy!" Ral exclaimed, clapping his hands. The others began to move, spreading out as they did, dividing and conquering being their best bet.

’I’ll inform the Entrance Units now, failing wouldn’t be part of the question.’ Turning towards the gate a distance away, he made his way there, the guards up the walls with bows noticing something was off. After all, they were seeing members of the Personal Unit around.
