Building My Guild With A Blank Scroll
Chapter 48: An Escape–2

Chapter 48: An Escape–2

The sun could be seen rising on the horizon and the large clearing in the forestland, an enclave behind the mansion, barely had any activities around. The chickens having successfully made it through another festive night busily foraging around.

To the left of the enclave, the Guard Camp could be seen, being larger than the Maids Quarters to the right. In the camp, snores could be heard all over as the Night Guards who had actually patrolled and those who did otherwise, rested for the day.

In the stables, a large structure located within the camp, a figure could be seen feeding the horses in their stalls. His chest was bare with only an apron on, barely shielding away his abs, obtained from the rigid training as a Knight.

Behind him, a door opened up and coming out with his hands over his mouth was none other than Lo-an Mune.

"Master, you’re ok?" The young man said, dropping the bucket of horse meal and heading to his aid.

"Mmm." His words muffled, Lo-an raised his hands to tell the other to stop. However, seemingly noticing what was up went to grab another bucket, handing it to him. Lo-an had a gallon of puke pouring out of him into the bucket, almost filling it up.

"Ugh, I feel so empty, do check whether I had my stomach inside." He sighed with his uneasiness written over his face.

"Um, nothing here Master."

"Aaahhh! What are you doing Dan?!"

"You said I should check whether your stomach was inside," Dan said, his face expressionless with one hand inside the bucket of puke while the other held it up with ease.

"I didn’t mean actually do it— gosh you bastard," Lo-an stated, his hand rubbing his temple. ’If I expected anyone to change it would’ve been you, Dan.’

Footsteps were heard on the wooden flooring of the structure behind him as Colin emerged from the room. "Of all, Dan wouldn’t need to be reminded of being a Bastard. That’s engraved to his soul already."

"And yours on skull huh, mind me breaking it?" Lo-an threatened playfully, Colin joining him as they sat on the stairs with Dan standing still before him, his glove in the bucket of puke.

"Hah, dawn is breaking— that was some feast last night. It hurts to see you have to leave, Ral and Tav would be here if they weren’t the Sir’s Personal Unit."

"Personal Unit? I didn’t notice them when I met Kaleb." Lo-an recalled.

"Then they were guarding his room, that’s their usual spot after all. Better than following that dummy around, hah." Colin scoffed.

"Now isn’t that personal, I can smell the hate."

"It is." Dan finally spoke. "He likes his mistress."

"Hey, don’t say something you don’t know about Brother." Colin retorted firmly as Dan looked at him with usually his straight-up face. "When have I?"

"Haha, the question is who the unlucky one is to grab Colin’s heart."

"He’s the unlucky one here."

Lo-an was taken aback by Dan’s words, turning to look at the other beside him, he broke into a round of laughter.

"They’re meant for each other then—haha."

Hearing his words, Colin’s face went red like that of a twenty-year-old kid, being glad that their Master approved.

"Is she ready?" Lo-an inquired, standing up to his feet.

"Yes Master, I’ll get her here right now."

"Good."

"Master, how about we head to the mansion to visit Ral? It would take ages to see once again." Colin suggested, his still slightly red face being a total giveaway.

"I don’t think that’s a good idea."

"What? How, you are the Sir’s guess and none wouldn’t dare not let you see them." Colin said, his words firm and assuring.

"Actually boy, I might have gotten on the wrong side of Kaleb during my visit." He blurted out, awaiting his reaction to his words.

"Oh, I see. Is it that bad?"

"If Mia or Vans aren’t around then it would be much better if I’d left this territory already."

"The Lord Regent, this isn’t good. Kaleb controls the Knights all around, you could be captured or worse killed. I’ll go inform Dan, we’d have to get you out as soon as possible."

"I—" Before he could clarify anything he’d said, Colin was long gone in the direction Dan had gone.

’I’m just here to get Rae and they think I need their help. These bastards never changed.’

*************

A younger self of Lo-an Mune could be seen in a similar area, a stable though smaller in size and having space for a handful of horses. He could be seen coming out of the pen of the only mount in the stable— a brown stallion.

"Master! Master!" He could hear running footsteps, one coming from more than one person. As soon four boys popped out at the building’s entrance, their faces swollen with their entire bodies bruised— a fifth one soon

joining up.

*THUD!

*CRACK!

The wooden bucket dropped from his hands, cracking with its content pouring out. "What happened to you guys?" Lo-an dashed towards them, their faces down while the one in front of them was in tears with his hand pointing outside.

"Master please help out Dan, he’s getting thrashed by those Candidates without fighting back."

"Candidates? They attacked you too Ral? All five of you?"

*SNIFFLE!

*SNIFFLE!

"We all tried to save him, but their escorts were too strong," Ral added.

"We didn’t even land a single blow." Another, having messy red hair added.

"Escaping still got us beaten, you have to save him, Master." One with coal black hair pleaded, more bruised than the others— considering how fat he was after all.

"Please Master, save Dan!" Their voices came in unison, pleading for his help together.

"Hah! Worry not younglings, I’ll give them a better thrashing than they could ever do." Lo-an declared to all of them.

"Thank you Master Lo-an!" They all exclaimed, bowing while they did.

"Hehehe. This Mune will always protect the bastards under him. Let’s head there already." He took the lead out with them following behind, as despite his confident composure was a bothering thought he couldn’t shake off.

’I hope these Candidates wouldn’t be from one of the NobleHouses. Who am I kidding, which midblood would get an escort for Candidates.’

"Hey, wait for me." The coal-black-haired kid called out from behind, trying to keep up with his weight falling him.

*HUFF!

*HUFF!

He’d barely made it from the entrance while the others were disappearing from his line of sight.

"Haa, I... think... I should... rest— haa."

"Owwie! My butt hurts!"
