Chapter 92: Just a kiss
Pentharis’ face darkened when he heard what Aric said. "You did what?" he asked.
"I promised that you can make metal of different types. I needed a hook for business, and I saw that as an opportunity," Aric said, his lips still curled up into a smile.
"Why the hell would you do that? Even if I had the potential to do that, I don’t want to be forced into doing it," Pentharis said.
"Just learn how to do it already, it’s no big deal," Unara said.
"The hell did you say to me?" Pentharis snapped.
"Woah, woah, woah, that’s enough. I didn’t bring it up to cause any arguments, so dial it down, both of you," Aric said. He looked over to Pentharis.
"Let me make it clear, Pentharis, you don’t have much of a choice. It’s a direct order from me. You need to do this. The baron is secondary, but you learning how to make different types of metal will be very useful to us in more ways than you think.
Other people have to dig deep into the ground to find metal, but we have you, and we need your abilities," Aric said, his words calm as the morning breeze. He got his point across to Pentharis.
Pentharis let out a tired sigh. He leaned back into his chair and folded his arms. "Fine, I’ll do it, but that means all the spirits have to learn theirs as well," he said.
"They will, for certain," Aric assured.
"Now, with that out of the way, there’s a major issue that all of you need to know, because you are a part of it," Ariel said. She looked around the table, all eyes on her, waiting to hear what it was that she wanted to say.
"The Forest Terror. We are still at war with him, and we don’t want to sit and wait for him to come to us. We want to take the fight to him," Ariel said. Her words immediately sparked a lot of questions.
"You want to go against a Forest Terror?" Duvalis asked.
"That’s a really risky move," Treshan said. "The Forest Terror has a very large army. Even if we, the spirits, or our master Aric can defeat it, all the goblins that live here will be dead at the end," he added.
"We know that, and that’s why Aric has decided on a plan to get help," Ariel said. She raised three fingers into the air and spoke. "According to information we got from Gorin, there are three races—three races that will be willing to fight against the Terror if we ask them the right way.
An Order tribe, a wolf pack, and a lizardmen tribe. They have the numbers that we lack, and with them, we will be able to take down the army that the Forest Terror has," Ariel explained.
She took a few more minutes to explain everything that had been discussed. She spoke until she was sure that everyone had gotten the full gist of it.
After that, they ended the meeting, and everyone left to go to sleep. Ariel also took Gorin to show him where he would stay for the time being.
The only two people left were Aric and Elisa. Aric got up and was ready to go, but as he walked past her chair, she grabbed onto his hand, stopping him.
He turned, looking at her. "Do you want something?" he asked. She didn’t respond and stood up slowly, her head tilted slightly, their eyes locked.
"There is something I really want, but I’ll let it be for now—until you have finally settled your issue with the Forest Terror," she said. Both her palms slowly rested on his chest. Aric felt her small dainty fingers touching him lightly.
"But for now, this will suffice," she said. Her heels left the ground; she propelled herself up. Her lips touched Aric’s lips, pressed against each other for a few seconds, her eyes shut during the time.
She pulled her head back and allowed her heels to go down. Without saying another word, she walked out at a brisk pace, leaving Aric there slightly stunned.
In her quickened pace, she left the house, her cheeks flushed bright red like a rose. She pressed her back against the wall, her lips curled up into a smile of victory. Even if all she did was a kiss, she was happy that Aric didn’t push her away.
Inside, Aric stood where he had been kissed. His eyes slowly looked down—there was a bulge in his trousers.
"Seriously? A kiss and I’m already like this?" he said, shaking his head at his own perverted ways. He stood there for a few seconds, waiting for all the rushing blood to calm down.
After it did, he left the room and headed to get some rest. Today had been stressful in many ways.
[...]
The warm rays of the sun seeped through the windows, casting its glow all over the room. Aric’s eyes flickered open—the beginning of the major movements of Terra had begun.
He leapt out of his bed and immediately rushed to get ready. There was no time to waste anymore; every second counted now.
He got into the bathroom and saw that the wooden tub was already filled with water. He pulled off his clothes and tossed them to the side, getting into the water.
He pulled up the system interface and bought a new bar of soap. The floral scent wafted into his nose, causing his muscles to ease up.
He washed up as fast as he could, and when he was done, he took out a brush and toothpaste to brush his teeth.
But as he stood there, it suddenly hit him—he had a lot more to sell to the baron and his village. All he needed to do was produce them by himself, like better soap and body care products.
"Seems like we will have far more to do in the coming days," he said with a chuckle.
