Chapter 147: 105 of the same kind
So much good food, yet he’s not even eating steak or foie gras? That’s just not worth it.
"What do you think?" He came along with her because she likes it, but he doesn’t care about buffets at all.
Isn’t Joseph Shaw looking for his secretary? She’s already back, doesn’t he know?
Anyway, today he really doesn’t want to complicate things, just have a good meal with his woman.
"What do you want? I’ll get it for you." Since Atlas Hallow is being so accommodating by taking her to eat at a buffet today, naturally, she should serve him a bit. A man like him probably doesn’t like walking around carrying a tray, so she should do it.
"Anything’s fine." It’s incredible how this young girl can be so happy just eating at a buffet.
Charlotte Miller left her seat to pick out the food she likes, and the server came over promptly to clean the table.
Atlas Hallow thought for a moment and then sent a message, Joseph Shaw has been acting off because he’s looking for his secretary, so he might as well tell him since he saw her. Anyway, they were almost done eating, and they’ll leave just in time when Joseph Shaw arrives.
"Annie, right? I’m James Williams, Aunt Diaz’s neighbor." Annie looked up at the man in front of her, smiled gracefully and nodded. He really had an air of literature about him, the only description Aunt Diaz could give of him.
His parents are both university professors, and he’s the only son in the family who also works as a professor. From his appearance to his personality, he’s top-notch. Annie suddenly felt she might not be good enough for such a family.
After all, she’s been with Joseph Shaw for over four years.
But before the blind date, she emphasized that she had had a boyfriend before. In today’s society, mentioning a boyfriend of three or four years should be a pretty clear hint that she’s indirectly saying she’s not untouched, but the other party didn’t react particularly, leading to today’s meeting.
Joseph Shaw received the message while in his office. The new secretary is as stupid as a pig, clumsy with everything, making him want to toss her straight down the stairs.
Nothing has been smooth since that damned woman Annie ran away.
The phone was on the desk, and when the message notification sounded, he looked up, was it from Atlas Hallow?
Why send a message? Is the Hallow Clan going bust? Could he not spare a call? Anyway, feeling annoyed makes him want to curse.
After reading the message, he seemed to explode, grabbed the car keys on the desk, and dashed out.
"President Shaw, your lunch..." The new secretary watched a black shadow flash before her eyes, not finishing her sentence before it already rushed into the elevator, leaving her foolishly holding the lunch.
Should she eat it or not? At least say something?
The car couldn’t speed up, visibility wasn’t great, thankfully, the company wasn’t very far away.
When Atlas Hallow inadvertently saw a man sit down, he rubbed his forehead with his hand, this is really going to be troublesome.
"Finished eating?" It’s best to leave first. Things might escalate soon. Joseph Shaw is spoiled as the only male child among many families, everything went smoothly for him since childhood. There’s definitely drama between him and that female secretary, and his temper surely drove her away. So it’s better if they leave first.
"Of course not." Charlotte Miller scornfully glanced at Atlas Hallow, how is this even halfway done? "The cheese platter here is really good, blueberry and cheese are a perfect match, and I haven’t eaten it yet." She shouldn’t bring him to eat at a buffet from now on, it’s not worth it at all. She can’t possibly eat enough for two people, Atlas Hallow only had a bowl of seafood noodles and basically did nothing afterward.
Charlotte Miller ate while watching Annie’s table not far from them, those two were even dafter, not even started on their noodles yet.
A cup of green tea was placed in front of Annie, she liked the mild taste of green tea.
"Not sure if you like Tai Ping Hou Kui, one of my father’s students gave a little, this tea has its story. A mother monkey searched for her child until she collapsed on the mountain, encountering an old man who saved her. The following year, the hillside was covered with lush tea trees. The mother monkey appeared in a dream to the old man, saying it was her gratitude. Turns out he saved a sacred monkey, so the tea from this mountain became known as Tai Ping Hou Kui. It’s impossible to trace the tale now, but the tea is fragrant and delicious. Next time we meet, I’ll bring some for you to try." James Williams’s voice was moist but penetrating, probably related to his profession.
