Chapter 208: There’s no way out

Chapter 208: There’s no way out

Rhea and Draven, lost in a world of their own, continued to share a tender moment on the ground. As they kissed, Lilac stood nearby with a frown, peering down at them. Before she urgently reminded them of the lurking danger within the spell, breaking their trance.

Reality snapped back into focus for the couple. Draven, still overwhelmed by emotion, hugged his wife tightly before helping her up. Their hands entwined, a silent promise of never letting each other go again.

Draven held her close, then asked with concern, "How did you manage to find your way through the spell?"

Rhea, still catching her breath from the kiss they had just shared, replied, "Lilac. She led me through the spell. It’s all thanks to her."

Gratitude filled Draven’s eyes as he turned to Lilac. "You did well," he said sincerely, a rare expression of appreciation from him.

Lilac smiled happily as she had never been praised by Draven before nor had she ever satisfied him. And now that he was satisfied with what she had done for Rhea, Lilac closed her eyes and consumed his satisfaction. Almost immediately, her broken wing started to mend itself.

Rhea watched in astonishment as Lilac’s beautiful purple wing mended itself. Before Rhea could comment, Alina materialized in midair, her gaze filled with anger directed at the them. Sinister eyes locked onto Lilac as Alina unleashed her fury. "You insolent thing, how dare you ruin my plans!" she spat, her voice dripping with malice.

Before anyone could react, with a swift motion, Alina slammed Lilac away with her powers. Lilac tumbled into the black vapors in the darkened corner, the vapors turned into sharp barbwire that began cutting at her flesh, fear and pain etched across her face as she struggled against the ominous tendrils.

Draven had no choice but to let go of Rhea’s hand to help the fairy from the ominous vapors. He used his powers to freeze the vapors around Lilac, and as the vapors were frozen, Alina lost her balance in the air and fell down clutching her chest. She quickly disappeared again.

Rhea rushed towards Lilac. The fairy was trembling and weeping, "Pain, it’s paining." Lilac cried as she raised her bleeding hands for Rhea to see.

Rhea hugged the young lady and consoled her. After she had calmed down, Lilac looked up at Rhea with teary large purple eyes, "Myself sense something from those smoke. Myself think the smokes are protesting and holding something dear to Alina, she has used her entire life source powers to create this spell and illusion, that’s why she could be in many places at the same time."

Rhea frowned, "Do you mean we can never get out of this place unless Alina is killed?" She asked with widened eyes, and Lilac nodded, "Aye, there is no way out for you and Mister’s unless you kill her or she lets you out."

"Why would she lock us in a spell with her life?" Rhea asked confused, as none of this made sense to her unless if Alina had lured them here to kill them.

"Myself told you, the witch is protecting something in that dark corner where the vapors are plenty. I sense it, something is there." Lilac explained.

Rhea looked towards the corner where the thick vapors were still swirling in an ominous circle. She couldn’t see anything beyond the darkness of the vapors.

Draven also looked towards the vapors, he recalled how the fake Rhea had tried to lure him to that direction earlier. "Something must be in there." He mumbled softly with a deep frown.

Rhea turned back to Lilac, "Since the spell isn’t stoping you from leaving, you should go back home first."

Lilac lips trembled slightly, her huge purple eyes looked into Rhea’s eyes, "You don’t need my help anymore?"

"You’ve already helped me a lot, Lilac. Don’t risk your life to stay here, you have your wings back now, fly back home. Draven and I will follow after we find a way out." She forced an encouraging smile so that Lilac would leave.

"Is you sure you won’t need me here again?" Lilac asked, and Rhea nodded, "Yes, I will be fine. Just go back."

Lilac might be unaffected by the illusion, but Rhea could tell she was terrified of Alina, and she wouldn’t want anything to happen to Lilac, it was best she leave while she and Draven find their way out. Since Lilac had said there was something in those vapors, then they needed to check it and see what Alina was keeping there. Furthermore, they could only leave this place if they managed to kill Alina or she let them out.

After Rhea watched Lilac fly out of the spell and flew away, she stood up and turned back to Draven. "We have to check that place out." She said and Draven nodded, but before they took any step forward, Alina reappeared again.

"Try to hold her back while I go check the vapors." Rhea said as she saw Alina floating in the air. However, Draven wanted to warn her not to approach the vapors without him as they didn’t know what could be in there. But before he could express his concern, Alina began attacking. He muttered a curse and said, "Fine, go, but be careful!" With those words, he turned away to restrain Alina.

While Draven and Alina fought, Rhea approached the dark vapors cautiously. She couldn’t simply walk into them, as she had witnessed how they had harmed Lilac earlier. Instead, she used her ice powers to freeze them.

When Alina saw Rhea freezing the vapors, she became alarmed. She tried to teleport, but Draven anticipated her move and prevented her. This made her furious, and she clenched her teeth. Flames surrounded her, and the temperature rose. Even the ice that had frozen the vapors began to melt into hot water.

Rhea felt the heat engulfing her skin. If it hadn’t been for the coldness of the core, she would have been burned alive. Despite the intense heat, she didn’t give up. She continued freezing the vapors, causing them to transform into water from the heat. Rhea was determined to discover what Alina was protecting behind them. She raised her hands and released a burst of ice from her palms, freezing the entire swirling mass of black vapors. As they melted into water, she finally saw what was concealed behind them.

There stood a humanoid figure made of mud. Rhea was shocked when she realized that the figure was in the process of forming into a human body, even the face was taking shape. And the most astonishing thing was that she recognized that face very well.

"Enzo..."

It turned out that Alina was using black magic to create a human from mud. Could it be that she was attempting to bring Enzo back to life? Was that why she had used up her entire life force to perform such a spell? She wanted to kill them both in the spell to drain their life essence into the statue and give it life!

Rhea was too shocked to move, she just stared at the statue. But then her eyes fell on the statue’s chest, where she noticed something glowing inside it.

Rhea frowned. What could that be?

She started to reach out her hand to touch the glowing object, when it was like Alina, who was still in midair, suddenly started to panic, she used a spell to freeze Draven’s muscles, then she ran towards Rhea, "Don’t you dare touch his memory ball!"

When Rhea heard that warning and felt Alina approaching her in full speed, she quickly plugged out the glowing memory ball from the statue’s chest, and held it up in both hands, "Bring it on, bitch." Rhea smiled, "I dare touched it, what are you going to do?"
