Chapter 650: Chapter 137: Coming Underground to See Rain in Winter_2

"I plan to negotiate with them, not scare them off." Liu Zhenhan waved his big hand, mischievously imitating the late Emperor’s thickly-accented Beamon at a meeting in Chongqing, "The harder you guys fight, the better it is for my negotiation."

"We have mages, and even the Difeng giants can use the ’Flame Meteor’, which makes them half-powerful mages. Their commanders should really be thinking about their next move." Daisy laughed at one side.

"I am quite curious about what they’re capable of." Liu Zhenhan arrogantly said: "From what I see now, these opponents aren’t any tougher than the ones we’ve faced before!"

This statement sounded quite boastful. A few Difeng giants furrowed their brows, wanting to say something, but didn’t.

Within the Moorish army, the bone horns never ceased their distant, mournful sound. After waiting for a while, a huge number of Cow-Eagle People appeared again. However, this time they did not attack. Instead, they soared into the vast sky until their figures disappeared. There were at least two thousand of them, and the sight of such a large number of Cow-Eagle People flying into the sky was truly magnificent.

Through the Eagle Eye Telescopic Glass, Liu Zhenhan could barely make out that each Cow-Eagle man seemed to be carrying something on his back. He had no idea what these guys were planning.

Old Liu looked up at the dark sky overhead, then turned to Daisy beside him with a questioning look. She too was confused.

Daisy fell into deep thought, her brows furrowed.

It didn’t take long for the answer to come. Groups of three to five dozen Cow-Eagle people started diving down from the sky, screeching piercingly as they descended. This put everyone in the valley on high alert. However, after diving for four to five hundred yards, they dropped their spears and immediately ascended again, flying towards their lines on the southern bank of the Gibraltar River.

Even the Panda warriors could not guarantee a hundred percent hit rate with their javelins at a distance of two hundred yards, let alone hitting the Cow-Eagle people flying in the sky at a distance of four to five hundred yards. Naturally, their javelins didn’t cause any trouble for the Beamons in the valley.

Wave after wave of Cow-Eagle people harassed them every few minutes. Each wave only consisted of dozens of people. Each time, they threw down their javelins and left. Occasionally, a group of Gray Dwarves would barge in. These dwarves didn’t bother to be stealthy. They brazenly attacked and then turned tail and ran after a short distance. They would then return after a while, annoying everyone.

This harassing tactic started to infuriate the Bimon warriors in the valley. The Antelope warriors began cursing at the Cow-Eagle people in the sky and the Gray Dwarves on the ground. The honest Tauren didn’t have a particularly rich vocabulary for cursing, so the insults quickly grew repetitive. The Vajra Parrot seized the opportunity and began cursing in ways that left the Taurens speechless. They had no idea how a parrot could master such an extensive list of profanities.

Although the Vajra Parrot’s cursing attack was unmatched, it was unable to stop the harassers. Even though several of them were taken out by Nedved’s long-range flea-strong bow that had a range of up to two thousand yards, the Gray Dwarves and Cow-Eagle people insisted on their hit-and-run tactics, returning from time to time to stir things up. Old Liu quickly realized the annoying nature of this exhaustion tactic, calling it a ’Sparrow Battle’.

So, aside from the heavily-armored Emerald Militiamen standing guard in shifts, and the invisible Soul Wanderers lurking outside, everyone else, including all the Antelope warriors, unlocked their chains, retreated into the giant huts to rest, eat, drink, and play mahjong, regaining their spirits.

The opponents probably wanted this kind of effect, and Liu Zhenhan was happy to oblige.

And as expected, this seemingly relaxed attitude provoked another attack from the Moorish army. The poised Difeng giants disregarded the javelins raining from the sky, dashing out of their huts, and throwing their ’Flame Meteors’ at the valley entrance. They, together with a few mages and two Staff-Shaman Magical beasts, plowed through the enemy, creating a giant clearing.

Most of the magical power in the valley was concentrated on powerful fire magic, which inflicted horrific damage on the invading Gray Dwarves. These enemies were clever and would back off as soon as they were stuck in a bind. Liu Zhenhan had hoped to call upon the submerged troops for a pincer attack. But before he could release the firing pin to call for reinforcements hiding in the Gibraltar River, the Gray Dwarves retreat akin to a receding tide. It was a truly regrettable situation.

What took Liu Zhenhan by surprise, however, was the appearance of mage protection from the Moor camp this time. The fire magic bullets blocking their fire magic attacks showed that the Blood Elf mages had joined in. Although, based on the firing frequency, their numbers seemed pretty low.

Once the sea of fire at the breach finally died down, there were a few Blood Elves looking through the lingering smoke towards everyone in the valley. Liu finally saw the Moorish Elves he had been pondering for so long. These finely built and good-looking Elves wore red and black cloaks, with different quantities of reddish-golden light bullets orbiting their necks, making them look like shamans.

The attack once again reached a stalemate. Just like before, the Moorish army resumed their harmless joint land-air harassment and exhaustion tactics. These boring tactics continued for the entire day. During this time, the Moorish army didn’t launch any significant attacks. The enemy’s tactic of defeating action with inaction had Liu utterly confused. What the hell were they up to?
