Chapter 649: Chapter 137: Coming to the Underground to Watch Rain in Winter_1

As a result of the "Sky Banning Song" disrupting the airflow and causing a disaster in the air, hundreds of Cow-Eagle People were recklessly thrown onto the ground. Gortani had been patiently enduring under the Goovener Liu’s oppression up to this point, and now they found themselves in a state of utter chaos.

Indeed, the "Sky Banning Song" proved to be the best method for dealing with air forces. The only minor disappointment was that, this "Sky Banning Song", being a racial ability rather than a ritual war song, had a rather long cooldown time. If not for this, there wouldn’t have been time for the Cow-Eagle People to gather and strike after it.

The surviving Cow-Eagle People in the air disappeared once more into the dark oblivion. The valley was littered with chaotic corpses. Other than those shot and killed, the Cow-Eagle People who fell from the sky due to the "Sky Banning Song" were somewhat lucky. The bodies below cushioned the impact of the fall. Many Cow-Eagle People actually survived the fall, the sounds of fractured bones, groans of pain and cries of mourning could be heard.

Liu Zhenhan, grasping the Ancient Power Fire Gun in his hand, unfolded the bronze gun sword attached to the Fire Gun’s muzzle, made a big step forward and thrust his gun towards each Cow-Eagle Person on the ground, regardless of whether they were alive or dead. He even stirred the gun left and right after stabbing it into a wound to check whether anyone was feigning death. Some Cow-Eagle People who saw this ruthless man approaching them managed to stagger to their feet, limping and raising their spears in defence, but they were promptly thrown to the ground with a blow from Liu’s gun and the sword drew out more blood. His movements were smooth and experienced, showing this was something he often did.

The Taurens and the Difeng Giant were a bit stunned. Even though they had their own ways to deal with prisoners, for some reason, they felt their Overlord was being extraordinarily cold-blooded and brutal this time.

"You are simply too cruel!" Joan of Arc, the young nun, rushed over, very unsatisfied and stopped Liu Zhenhan: "Many of these people are still alive! Only a devil would kill captive enemies who cannot fight back!"

"Are you planning on saving them? Bandaging their wounds? And then sending them back?" Liu frowned at the nun. She had been vomiting since the start of the war, and there was still a trace of yellow bile at the corner of her mouth. Despite all this, she still had the energy to care about this.

Joan of Arc nodded affirmatively.

"You should hold off on that for now," Liu Zhenhan pointed behind the nun.

She turned back to see a vicious-looking Cow-Eagle person not far away. One of its wings was broken and twisted in a strange direction. Its face was covered in blood, but it still held tightly onto a javelin. After a moment’s stumble, it threw the javelin into the air with all its might. It fiercely flew towards Joan of Arc’s petite figure. Joan’s face turned extremely pale, and her body turned stiff like a piece of ice.

Of course, the javelin could not hurt her.

"Kindness and not distinguishing between good and evil are two different things." Liu only had one hand, and his Ancient Power Fire Gun with the sword attached was embedded in the chest of the fallen Cow-Eagle person who was pinned to the ground. Therefore, he had one hand free, which he used to pinch Joan’s two alluring dimples. While he laughed silently, he didn’t forget to knock away the incoming javelin with his Mithril fist.

All of the Cow-Eagle people’s bodies were disposed of without being defiled, and were thrown in front of the Tauren’s defence line to serve as defences. The O’Neal Hippopotamus brought a group of poets to pluck their feathers. They mentioned that these feathers could be made into pretty good brooms, and this thriftiness was commended by the Overlord.

Despite all the havoc, the damage caused by the Moorish Army was very limited due to their lack of preparation. Only a few of the Difeng Giants had javelins lodged in their shoulders. Although the skin of the Difeng Giants was not made of stone or steel, injuries like this, though not major, could cause them to lose blood. Without a priest around, this would gradually wear down the Giants. However, there were some decent priests around at the moment, so the victory was satisfactory.

At the start of the war, Liu Zhenhan had advised the Difeng Giants to put on armour. With their skills, it wouldn’t have been challenging for them to make large armour. Liu Zhenhan overestimated his persuasive skills and underestimated the Giants’ pride.

The defeated Moorish Army began to regroup in the distance. It seemed like another attack was imminent.

"Boss... should we let the Buer tribe step aside and let our Mammoth Cavalry charge this time?" Korina approached ask their boss cautiously. As the leader of the Cavalry, he was rather unsatisfied with the recent skirmish. As a member of the honourable Feilongchui Cavalry, they were usually on the offensive in battle. But today, they had somehow become forced labour, reduced to throwing stones. This was quite humiliating. The terrain here was actually quite suitable for a cavalry charge. If the Feilongchui Heavy Cavalry charged through, these Gray Dwarves would either be crushed or forced into the Strait of Gibraltar to be fed to the fish and shrimps.

"What’s the hurry? The enemy only just made their first attempt at attacking and the Cow-Eagle people hiding in the river are all holding their breath. How come you can’t hold it in like them?" Liu Zhenhan laughed: "The Moorish Blood Elves, the main forces, haven’t even entered the battlefield yet. You guys charging in so quickly, wouldn’t that scare them off?"
