Chapter 1235: Chapter 337: Mutual Co-optation
Amid the chaotic crowds in the streets, Liu Zhenhan and Rommel easily slipped back to the military base.
On the way, it was Liu Zhenhan who led Rommel in a mad dash, not the other way around.
Mulan Warriors drew a sharp intake of breath, astonished at Beamon’s exceptional memory; to think he could navigate the complex shops and crowds back here without error—after all, Rommel had led him through at least six street corners and several labyrinth-like alleys!
The Sentinel at the Flying Camel headquarters saw a bloody figure burst from the shadows clutching two people and pouncing towards the camp gate; they immediately, without a word, drew their curved swords and surrounded him.
Like a gust of wind passing by, Rommel did not even get a chance to speak before the four Sentinels were flung out, tumbling to the ground with groans, like burst sacks.
Guoguo had just passed a shop when she casually yanked the supporting pole for the awning, swinging it around, unknowingly knocking down countless obstructing individuals—these four Sentinels were merely the latest victims.
The visible guard had been knocked down, but the Flying Camel army still had hidden guards.
"Stop!" Rommel roared desperately, and two Desert Elves, arrows ready on their bows, emerged from their ivy camouflage on the wall.
Liu Zhenhan, in a burst of energy, rushed into the parade grounds and stopped to catch his breath; the Persian Cat woman suddenly kicked furiously, her hands desperately clawing at his face, drawing blood while inadvertently flipping off the old rogue’s cloak hood.
"Damn it!" Liu Zhenhan got angry, wondering why his good intentions went unrewarded.
Hearing the familiar Beamon language, the Cat woman, originally like a wife catching her husband cheating, suddenly froze, her gem-like eyes sparkling with enchanting lights.
Fawkes’ beauty with watery charming eyes stared intensely at his young yet evil face; Liu Zhenhan’s slightly northeastern-accented Beamon language was a sound that haunted her in her dreams.
"How much do you two weigh?" Liu Zhenhan relaxed his arms, releasing the Fox and Cat women he had clamped under his arms.
"I... I... you..." The young girl from the Garfield Clan didn’t know how to respond, shocked to encounter a fellow countryman thousands of miles away from home.
"Looking at you two, so thin, yet quite meaty." Liu Zhenhan touched his face where long nails had scratched him, twisting a slightly red blood mark from his finger; "I felt as if I was carrying two Mount Tamerlarya on my way here!"
The Cat woman shyly lowered her head, her hands twisted together, pouting without speaking, her long, beautiful nails quietly emanating a hint of blood, wishing she could hide her nails.
"I am Richard, the Shaman of Divine Song of the kingdom, children, you are safe now," Liu Zhenhan looked at the beautiful fox on the ground, his heart bleeding, quickly removing the large cloak from himself and wrapping it tightly around this Fawkes girl.
Rommel stood by with his arms crossed, his eyes full of mockery.
"Your Highness, my name is Victoria, I am Princess Nancy’s maid, my father is the King’s secretary." The Garfield Clan Cat woman held back her tears, controlling her emotions to prevent herself from breaking down on the spot. If not for a divine spokesperson standing before her, she would have thrown herself into the arms of this compatriot to weep bitterly.
The name Victoria has two meanings in the Mongolian language, "noble hot chick" and "sexy wild cat," Liu Zhenhan thought this beautiful lady’s name was quite apt.
"And you, my poor child?" Liu Zhenhan gently embraced the Cat woman, asking the Fox woman who sat collapsed on the ground.
Hearing Liu Zhenhan’s identity, the Fawkes beauty began to weep, her beautiful legs crossed in an act of modesty; yet, her exquisite curves unintentionally highlighted the Fox woman’s inherent charm to its fullest.
"Don’t cry, from now on, I won’t let you suffer any harm," Liu Zhenhan pointed at the war god figure on his emblem as he spoke.
The Fawkes girl looked up at Liu Zhenhan with eyes filled with fluctuating sorrow.
"Can you still stand up?" Liu Zhenhan saw the Fox woman struggle to get up several times, seemingly unable to muster the strength, clearly her habit of bending her knees had stuck.
"Typical hero saving the beauty!" Rommel, seeing Beamon Shaman extend his hand to the beautiful fox, burst into loud applause.
"I really don’t understand!" Liu Zhenhan glanced at this handsome officer, "In theory, half of the war god’s bloodline should still flow through your veins, yet why didn’t you step forward when you saw your own being bullied? Didn’t your mother pass on the virtue of kindness to you?"
"Don’t forget, half of my blood belongs to the Mulanese!" Rommel pointed to his bloodshot eyes, stressing this point while also giving Liu Zhenhan a direct answer: "I have no sympathy or affection for you Beamons, just hatred! You better understand this and not waste words uselessly."
"Not every Beamon woman has been sold out by high-ranking officials and noblemen! You’d better understand that too!" Liu Zhenhan retorted with anger simmering into laughter.
