Chapter 1236: Chapter 337 Mutual Attraction_2
"Give me a break, all crows under the sun are black," Rommel retorted. "I don’t believe for a second that the upper echelons of the Bimon Kingdom have been oblivious to Rosenborg’s actions over the past thirty years."
"You just watch, once I get back to my country, let’s see if I let them continue living so comfortably!" Liu was so angry that he trembled all over and nodded repeatedly.
Liu knew Rommel was right, Rosenborg wasn’t the only one engaging in such activities; ever since the Deer Tribe Musketeers had been sold to the Aegean Humans, he heard from Cui Beixi and Vieri that many Pier nobles only cared about money, with no regard for the lives of the Vassal Clan.
"Your Majesty... You..." Catwoman Victoria was confused; it seemed like her kingdom’s Shaman and this Mulanese were quite familiar.
"Don’t ask now, you’ll know later." Liu helped the fox woman to stand up; she was so frail that she couldn’t even buckle her knees, her face deathly pale and trembling all over.
"What’s your name?" Liu asked.
"My name is Liwei," the fox woman said timidly.
"Damn it!" Seeing the trembling knees of the girl, Liu couldn’t help but curse again in anger.
"With at least four to five hundred nobles in Kalimantan City owning pet foxes, dogs, rabbits, and cats, how many can you save?" Rommel sneered coldly, "You fool! Do you realize that the noble you killed today is a direct relative of the Caliph? The city is about to be under martial law, hunting down the murderer! You’re just looking for trouble! Three days from now you’d better take care of yourself, because now I don’t think the Bimon Princess can even make it out of Kalimantan. Of course, you should be fine, what are you? A great hero."
"Then keep your eyes peeled!" Liu sneered back, mockingly replied, "Let me tell you something in Bimonese—Even if only one Shaman remains on this earth, the flames of vengeance will sweep across the world! You’d better remember that, don’t you forget."
"Stupidity and impulsiveness are always Bimon’s fatal flaws! I thought maybe a Shaman would be better, but it seems it’s the same after all! No wonder you’ve degenerated from a great empire to this!" Rommel laughed heartily, "Flames of vengeance? That’s just hilarious! You better practice some Fire magic before you spout that nonsense!"
Liu cast a cold glance at Rommel, helping the two girls toward the underground prison.
His gaze was filled with profound contempt and disdain, which immediately made Rommel’s face turn ashen.
After settling the two girls in the dungeon, Rommel also brought in two fur mattresses, food, and water, which he threw to the bustling Liu, and the thoughtful commander even brought a chamber pot and a stack of toilet paper.
Rommel’s gaze at fox woman Liwei was complicated.
Liu felt this peculiar gaze, turned his head back to look at Rommel, who quickly averted his eyes.
Liu straightened up, standing before Rommel, his broad silhouette blocking the lamplight, his eyes staring coldly at the commander.
"What pointless thing do you want to say now?" Rommel gazed intently, staring at the robust Shaman.
"Seeing that you could still bring some food and water, I know there’s still a shred of conscience in you, I give you one last chance!" Liu stated, "Remember! This is your last chance!"
"Oh?" Rommel raised his arching eyebrows, a look of surprise on his face.
"Come back with me to our country!" Liu looked at him seriously, "Whatever you’ve done before, I’ll do everything in my power to ensure you escape punishment, as long as you serve the kingdom well from now on, I think His Majesty would agree, and I swear this to you on my honor as the Shaman of Divine Songs!"
"Ha, you must be mad!" Rommel burst out laughing, but he couldn’t help but avoid the fiery gaze of the Bimon Shaman.
"I’m not crazy! I’ve been thinking these past few days, what kind of combination would it be if I teamed up with you and Lord Mourinho!" Liu Zhenhan coldly snorted.
"A Fire Phoenix sacrifice?" Rommel raised an eyebrow, his heartstrings slightly stirred. Indeed, if he, the Fire Phoenix sacrifice, and the Richard standing before him were to blend together, what a powerful lineup it would be!
"Don’t think that the Mulanese can really do anything to the Bimon Kingdom! With nearly four thousand miles separating them and without the natural aid of the desert, the Mulanese have no chance!" Liu Zhenhan’s passionate tone suddenly turned into an almost pleading one. "Rommel, come back to our country with me! Seeing Liwei, I can imagine what your mother must have gone through, you are your mother’s flesh and blood, the kingdom may still have your relatives! Bimon indeed needs revival, and it needs smart people like you."
Upon hearing the word ’mother,’ Rommel’s expression immediately changed, hardening, becoming merciless, becoming cruel.
"Why should I surrender to you, not you to me?" Rommel looked curiously at Liu Zhenhan. "If you’re willing to surrender to me, I promise I would treat you with the best conditions, and after conquering the Bimon Kingdom, I could even make you the King of Bimon!"
Liu Zhenhan stared at Rommel for a long while, finally sighing without saying a word.
"I say this because I admire your talents, a sentiment I was originally going to keep buried in my heart, never to be spoken of," Rommel continued. "Consider it a plea. Will you join my camp, please? This is the first time in my life I’ve asked anyone for something!"
"I am truly honored! So, you think I have talents?" Liu Zhenhan laughed heartily.
"Being able to use the Divine Song aura to transform an army into having mid-level magic immunity is reason enough for you to be considered one of the world’s most recruitable talents," Rommel earnestly said. "Actually, we both understand that you are not really from Bimon! Just look at yourself! Why bother working so hard for Bimon? Everyone has their price, just name yours, and I can make it happen! Women, money, or honor, you just say the word!"
"I haven’t decided yet, I’ll tell you when I think it through," Liu Zhenhan snorted disdainfully. "I’m from the Pigiel race, I was before, I still am now, and I will be in the future! You can check the Pigiel race genealogy if you don’t believe me."
"So, there’s no room for negotiation?" Rommel asked.
"There is room for negotiation! We can talk after you take down the Bimon Kingdom," Liu Zhenhan sneered dismissively.
"Then you better prepare these two girls quickly, I still have to take you to the ’Crown Pearl’! I said I’d show you the culture and people of Mulan, and I intend to keep my word," a fierce light suddenly flashed in Rommel’s eyes.
"It’s under martial law now, isn’t it? And you’re still taking me out?" Liu Zhenhan looked at Rommel curiously.
"I have a military badge on me, who in Kalimantan would dare to stop me?" Rommel’s eyes radiated immense confidence. "Besides, when you killed those people earlier, you were wearing a cloak; who would recognize you now? Just tuck your pet into your robe, and I assure you smooth passage."
A sudden alertness sprang up in Liu Zhenhan’s heart—why was Rommel so eager to take him to the ’Crown Pearl’? What hidden intentions could he have?
Assassinating him was unlikely, he had thousands of troops; why go through such trouble? Besides, he still wanted to use his name for underhanded dealings.
Was he trying to buy him off? But he had already rejected him!
Liu Zhenhan mulled over these thoughts repeatedly in his mind.
"You’ll know my intentions once you get there," Rommel saw right through Liu Zhenhan’s thoughts.
"You could be a fortune teller!" Liu Zhenhan whistled. "What are we waiting for, lead the way."
