Chapter 1234: Chapter 336: If This Can Be Tolerated, What Cannot?_3
Rommel nearly passed out from anger.
Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath and twisted around to continue walking forward. No matter what Liu Shock said behind him, Rommel did not respond.
In front of a lavish, brilliantly lit, domed, four-story building, Rommel halted.
The building was situated at a bustling avenue’s corner, serene amidst the chaos.
The vast parking lot and the vibrant flowerbeds confirmed its eminent status. A fountain jetted out from within a Snow Lotus stone sculpture amid cascading veils of enchanting light, exuding an air of graceful elegance. Parked by the entrance, every carriage was exquisitely crafted, and even the camels pulling the carts were pure black, healthy beasts with fur as smooth and shiny as satin.
Gazing through the gorgeously adorned corridor into the interior, one could see a world of dazzling lights and merrymaking.
"This is the ’Crown Pearl,’ the most opulent den of iniquity in Kalimantan City and indeed the entire Desert!" Rommel said, smiling as he bent forward to extend his hand in an inviting gesture to Liu Shock. Even the most stringent court etiquette master would assuredly consider this act worthy of a textbook.
"What are you bringing me here for?" Liu Shock felt this guy was still a bit green, only just managing to change his expression.
"And where do you think I should take you?" Rommel countered.
"Do I need to spell it out? Obviously, to get familiar with the terrain!" Liu Shock considered such an issue self-evident.
"That’s too simple. When the time comes, I can just draw you a topographical map," Rommel shrugged. "Today, I brought you here mainly for amusement, and incidentally, to let you experience a bit of Mulanese culture and customs."
Liu Shock fell silent, his eyes drawn to several Mulanese emerging from the luxurious auction house.
Seven in number, the four stocky, curved-sword-toting figures at the back were clearly bodyguards. Leading the way was a plump, pot-bellied man, wearing a checkered turban and sporting a shaggy beard, his bloodshot, pea-green eyes emitting a lecherous glow. His left hand clutched a chain made of pure gold, which on the other end was tied around the neck of a red-haired beauty. She crawled on all fours like a dog, no more than twenty years old, clad only in a sheer, barely-there fabric that hinted enticingly at the curves beneath. The night breeze dispersed her alluring scent gently into the air.
Behind the rotund man, the bulky bodyguards were pulling a fiercely struggling girl. She was incredibly beautiful, her slender hands bearing jade-like, glistening nails that were three inches long, and her demeanor was dazzling. Her stunning eyes were like color-changing crystals, twinkling in the brilliant light, spectacular and captivating.
This beauty was fiercely spirited. She had scratched off a one-eyed bodyguard’s eyepatch, revealing a wound-riddled, rolled-up eye socket.
Liu Shock’s gaze suddenly turned ferocious, his facial muscles twitched.
Rommel watched him with apparent interest.
The red-haired beauty, crawling on the ground like a dog and shaking her red fox tail as if pleading for pity, and the attractive girl being dragged by the bodyguards who sported a thin, soft black tail...
Red fox tail and a scent that stood out – who else could it be but a Fawkes girl?
A black tail behind her, beautiful nails – who else could it be but a Beamon Garfield Clan’s cat woman? And she was the especially beautiful Persian cat! Because, in all the world, only the eyes of Persian cat women changed colors like gems!
"Fawkes beauties, cat beauties, they are the pets most favored by the Kalimantan aristocrats," Rommel’s voice resonated like the low chant of a devil in Hell. "Are you angry? Don’t be. The Crown Pearl Auction House is all about the slave trade, with nearly fifty Beamon beauties sold here each year. Your anger is futile."
Liu Shock turned to look at Rommel, his breathing heavy.
"This cat woman must be new, with such a fiery temper," Rommel clicked his tongue and leaned close to Liu Shock’s ear, whispering, "But you can’t get mad! Remember, you need to focus on the bigger picture! The Beamon princess is still waiting for you to rescue her."
At that moment, the fat man clambered onto a camel cart marked with the Narcissus Emblem while the Garfield Clan cat woman was bound by the bodyguards with a rope and shoved into the carriage. The fat man laughed heartily as he pinched her, but the Fawkes beauty, agile as a nimble pup, leaped into the carriage without waiting for instructions.
The four bodyguards got into another camel cart. The smartly dressed driver flicked the reins, and the mighty male camels galloped off on the cobblestone road, the two carts vanishing into the distance.
Liu Zhenhan looked around and saw an ironware shop across the street; with a flash, he had already teleported inside.
Rommel saw this Beamon Shaman’s instantaneous movement and couldn’t help his eyebrows jumping.
It was a civilian ironware store, and the samples displayed at the entrance were all agricultural tools like rakes, kitchen knives, axes, and saws.
In the blink of an eye, Liu Zhenhan whirled out of the ironware shop like a gust of wind, and immediately after, a big-bearded man burst out from the store, cursing loudly in Mulanese, apparently because he hadn’t been paid.
In the moment Rommel was taken aback, Liu Zhenhan had already taken off running, catching up to the camel cart behind him, yanking open the carriage door and leaping aboard.
Even from such a distance, Rommel could clearly hear several heavy chopping sounds and the noise of a large amount of blood splattering inside the carriage.
Covered in blood, Liu Zhenhan leaped down from the carriage, an axe caked with fresh blood in his hand. The pedestrians on the street were completely stunned at the sight of this fierce and evil looking individual.
The camel cart in front continued to drive forward as if nothing unusual had happened.
Rommel watched the Beamon Shaman jump onto the yoke of the camel cart like a leopard, and with a muffled "crack," the driver, like autumn leaves, flew out diagonally, his body soaring seven or eight meters before crashing heavily to the ground, with blood spurting wildly from his cleanly severed neck as he tumbled over and over.
The black camel pulling the cart let out a cry of pain from the abrupt reining in and stopped.
The entire street seemed to have been forgotten by time, falling into a silent stillness.
Rommel watched as the Beamon Shaman, axe dripping with blood, jumped down from the yoke, yanked open the carriage door and, with a swift move, pulled out the panicked Mulan fatso, slinging him onto the cobblestone road. The chubby Harley Beast jumped down to the ground, somehow found a slab of stone, and smashed it into eight pieces on the ground. Picking up one piece, it took the jagged edge and smashed it down hard onto the fat man’s forehead.
With each smash, flesh and blood spattered out like a fan on both sides. With every hit, the fatso’s head and the stone paved road made a huge hollow sound, wretched screams vibrating the earth. And with each smash, Rommel’s eyelids twitched.
This Beamon Shaman was clearly even more brutal; stomping on the fat man’s arm, he swung his axe four times in quick succession, severing all of the fatso’s arms and legs. Limbs clothed in brocade danced in the air, then fell back to the ground, scattering a clump of blood beads and curling up in agony, as the pool of blood on the ground resembled an overflowing flood, spreading out over the cobblestones.
Rommel was stunned; he truly didn’t expect this man to act so recklessly.
Liu Zhenhan spat fiercely at the pig-like Mulanese man, who now resembled a square mahjong tile.
Seeing the dumbfounded pedestrians around still staring at him with their mouths agape, Liu Zhenhan casually swung the notched axe in his hand, barely missing someone and scraping across the cobblestones, sending off a trail of sparks.
Rommel could only watch, wide-eyed, as this Beamon pulled two trembling Beamon beauties down from the cart and strode right up to him.
The street had already erupted into a cacophony of screams, a complete mess.
"Run already, you fools!" Liu Zhenhan said with bewilderment.
And so, Rommel ran with him.
