Chapter 1188: Chapter 320 Fawkes Mulan Commander_3
Prince Lionheart smiled appreciatively, nodding his agreement.
"The great, invincible, undefeated spirit of the Euphrates River, the god of war born from the Mulan military, and the most wise commander of Taklamago, Lord Rommel, allow me to convey this to you, distant Beamon!" A Mulanese man with a full beard, clutching a white flag tightly in his hand, shouted at the Beamon on top of the city wall: "We Mulanese want to know if you barbarians from the south have submitted yet?"
The other ten or so Camel Cavalry laughed uproariously, even slapping their camels’ rumps, which caused the mounts to smack their lips in displeasure.
"Mulanese envoy, what does your commander mean?" Richard’s booming voice echoed through the tower: "Cowardly Mulanese, our brave Beamon soldiers have yet to fall at your hands even now—what do you have to boast about? It’s rather your Dragon Knight who died by my hand!"
"The great, invincible, undefeated spirit of the Euphrates River, the god of war born from the Mulan military, and the most wise commander of Taklamago, Lord Rommel, his mercy could rival that of the oldest man with the longest beard in the entire desert. He needs you, a bunch of weaponless, supplyless beasts, to surrender immediately!" The bearded Mulan soldier crowed like a raven, continuing his clamor: "If you wild beasts from the wilderness refuse to admit defeat, the brave Mulan soldiers will use their scimitars to sever your heads—but may the cries of your distant loved ones still reach your ears!"
"So it’s about persuasion to surrender," Prince Kahn sneered, "Continuing dialogue with such an arrogant enemy would strip away my knightly dignity! Your Majesty, let us no longer entertain such a shameless foe; let’s descend for dinner!"
"Mulanese envoy! You are not qualified to talk to me! Call your commander!" Richard shouted again, then said to Prince Kahn, "Your Highness, don’t rush! We’ve got all the time to keep playing with these Mulan people!"
The Camel Cavalry holding the white flag murmured among themselves, and soon after, they turned the camels around and headed towards their camp, not leaving a word for Richard.
"How could their commander possibly come?" Prince Kahn laughed crookedly.
"Let’s go for dinner!" Richard stretched lazily, laughing heartily: "I was really just bored, and playing with the Mulan people for fun."
Prince Kahn and Richard had just finished dinner, each with a freshly lit cigar, when a Sentinel on the city wall suddenly shouted. Another Mulan envoy had arrived.
Richard and Prince Lionheart climbed the city wall again, "thud thud thud," and as they looked out, they clicked their tongues repeatedly.
What a grand display by the Mulan people this time!
Two hundred giants, around five meters tall, their bodies shimmering with a white glow, carrying huge torches, and at least a battalion of Elves, escorted a handsome man riding a silver elephant advancing to within three hundred meters of the ancient city ruins and stopping firmly.
Entirely adorned in gold and jade, the silver elephant, only two meters tall, seemed delicate to Richard, accustomed as he was to the five-meter-tall mammoth elephants. The two hundred giants were unarmed, emitting a strong almond scent, which alone impressed Richard. Giants generally live in family groups, and it’s rare to gather more than fifty in one tribe—these two hundred giants must have been gathered from around ten tribes; the band of Elves also drew Old Richard’s attention. These men and women, with blonde hair and beautiful faces, must be the Desert Elves. Each wore a long, elegant leather cloak, appearing quite aristocratic, each carrying a small violin-like instrument in their arms, without bow and quiver on their backs—a bit surprising to Richard, as Elves not being archers seemed more suited as prostitutes.
As for the man riding the elephant, Richard’s first impression was that he was handsome, referring to the splendid robe he wore.
"Tell me your identity, Beamon!" The Mulan man, lounging on the silver elephant’s howdah, casually flipped through a book and spoke in the most serene tone without looking up: "I am the Mulan commander Rommel, the very person you specifically asked to meet."
"I am Richard, the Shaman of Divine Song from the Beamon Kingdom, the spokesperson for shamanic teachings," Richard thought this lad really knew how to act pretentious, but couldn’t deny, despite seeming effeminate and only about thirty years old in age, that he was the fierce character who had driven the entire Beamon Expeditionary Army into a desperate corner.
"Ah, the spokesperson of divine authority! Have you decided yet? Surrender or perish? Heh, you might not know, but Beamon slaves are quite popular in Kalimantan City!" Commander Rommel abruptly stood tall upon the silver elephant, tossing aside the book in his hand and gazing coldly at Richard on the city wall, almost grinding his teeth as he pronounced each word.
From the silver chain hanging from his belt dangled a pendant, within which a small handsome figure proudly stood in the clear gem, his good-looking face filled with ferocity, a fiery red fox tail restlessly swaying behind him.
"Fawkes!" Prince Kahn, upon glimpsing the fox tail of this Mulan handsome man, hesitated for a moment then issued a massive roar that shook the entire ancient city to its core.
Unexpected! It was a Fawkes of the Fox People from Beamon who had cornered the Beamon Expeditionary Force!
All the Beamons on the city wall were shocked speechless in an instant.
"Kagaride Gem! Damn!" Richard stared intently at the pendant hanging from Commander Rommel’s waist, where the miniature handsome figure could be seen inside the gem.
Such a rare treasure capable of blocking a fatal blow! Richard clicked his tongue, secretly admiring this crafty fox.
