Chapter 1069: Chapter 276: Fangs of the Dark Night_2

The sizzling sound of flesh being scorched became the only melody echoing in the ears of all Mulan soldiers. Amid the dazzling aura, the Golden Figures cloaked in obsidian magma used their enormous bodies to once again break into the crowd of fallen Mulan soldiers, like a wheat field in autumn, crushing the remaining Mulan soldiers under their 240,000 pounds of heavy mass.

"What are you dazing at?" Liu Zhenhan turned back and stared at the Mages and priests who followed him, these experts capable of adeptly utilizing Elemental Power; their expressions fluctuated between pale and ashen as they shivered slightly, barely holding back the urge to retch.

Even the obedient Moer, after releasing the Golden Figures, huddled together with Helen, Qian Qian, and the little nun, not daring to look at the Mulan soldiers.

"All porcupine javelin throwers, kill all these enemies in front of you! Kill them all!" Liu Zhenhan snatched a Birdwing Crossbow Car that was being rewound, aimed it on his shoulder for a long time, and seeing that the targets had thinned out, he feared accidental injury and angrily gave up.

Professional soldiers remain professional soldiers. After a brief moment of shock, all the porcupine javelin throwers on the wooden platforms immediately and faithfully executed the commander’s orders. The few remaining Mulan soldiers after these rounds of attack stood there with dazed expressions, their large eyes wide open as they were felled to the ground by the spears piercing through the air.

The Piegel warriors also turned pale, having been immune to the sensation of bloodlust in the heat of the battle, but now that they had calmed down, the sight of such a horrific massacre was enough to unsettle them.

"Ough—ough—" General Reyes leaned on the shoulder of a personal guard, clutching his stomach, retching violently, splattering the guard with vomit.

"Otigha, take your Mexi and set a big fire on these corpses!" Liu Zhenhan pointed to the ashen-faced Fire Elemental Mages: "Burn! Burn them all clean! I’ll have a squadron help you gather the firewood!"

The mere hundred or so remaining Silver Blade Mojie trembled violently, staring intently at the cruel enemy commander before them. They truly wished that they too had died alongside those brave warriors, instead of helplessly watching this atrocity unfold before their eyes.

"Feeling reluctant? Heartbroken?" Liu Zhenhan smiled indifferently at the Silver Blade Mojie, then turned to a group of burly followers and pointed at them, moving his finger back to the Silver Blade Mojie: "Remember, this time I want them alive."

The hippo bards in the Crown Thorns Armor responded with readiness, dropping their huge axes, reaching down to their leg armor to fetch the armor-piercing hammers, and pounced on the remaining Mulan warriors.

The dull thuds of war hammers crashing against flesh and the clang of steel upon battle armor coalesced into the last mournful elegy. Just as the Silver Blade Mojie Ali Dai Yi was about to make a move, a blunt blade struck heavily against him, knocking him to the ground and shattering all his dreams.

"I surrender! I surrender!" shouted the Monastic Imam Montashari. Seeing these once invincible kings’ tent Mojie crumble under the hammers like clay sculptures, the Imam finally had a chance to raise his hands and voice his opinion. Earlier, surrounded by knife-wielders, he had feared that speaking out would result in being beheaded.

"Finally, someone with some sense," Liu Zhenhan chuckled.

All the Silver Blade Mojie standing on the wooden platform had fallen. Although the hippo bards tried hard to control the force of their blows, the spikes on the Crown Thorns Armor caused accidental severe injuries as they charged into the crowd. Many Mulan tent knife-wielders suffered broken ribs from the hammer strikes, the sharp ends piercing into their lungs, causing them to blow bubbles of blood like crabs from their mouths, twitching their legs, clearly beyond saving.

"I wanted them alive!" Liu Zhenhan was infuriated by these hippo bards, checking that most had succumbed to pneumothorax from rib punctures into their organs, with no hope of survival.

"Sorry boss, if I had known, I would’ve used the back of the axe," shrugged O’Neal helplessly.

A Silver Blade Mojie with a gashed head caught sight of the enemy commander standing next to him through blood-caked eyes. He reached out a trembling hand, fumbling towards the curved blade on the plank. The enemy commander wasn’t wearing heavy armor, the Silver Blade Mojie prayed to the Goddess Moni that he could kill this vile enemy and avenge his comrades.

Even chopping off one of his feet would have been an option. The Silver Dagger Mojie realized that his severely injured body could no longer perform the exquisite knife techniques, so he lowered the difficulty for himself.

A pair of heavy boots just happened to step on his outstretched hand, and after a series of crisp "crackling" sounds, all the bones in the hands of the Silver Dagger Mojie completely shattered into pieces. The desert man was tough indeed, as he managed to bear the pain without even a grunt.

"I’m truly sorry!" Liu Zhenhan politely apologized to the Silver Dagger Mojie, "It was unintentional."

"It was intentional," O’Neal added while nodding.

"You and your big mouth!" The Overlord raised his foot ready to kick, but seeing O’Neal covered in spines, he reluctantly put his foot down, "O’Fat! These guys are so stubborn, I suddenly find myself losing interest, as for how to deal with these people I think you should know; bring that leader and the Imam to the main tent, as for the rest of you..."

The Shaman of Divine Songs pointed his finger at all the Beamon soldiers who were still bewildered, "...immediately clean up the battlefield! All platoon and company leaders count the casualties, check the spoils of war, and report back to me in the main tent later! The unit commanders arrange to take care of everything, and immediately lead the soldiers to rest! Bury the cooking pot! Make the meal!"

"Yes, Your Grace!" All the Piegel soldiers saluted together.

"Reyes, come with me," Liu Zhenhan said to General Fawkes, whose complexion had already improved. Seeing Helen and Qian Qian still huddled together, Liu Zhenhan again couldn’t help but scold, "How much longer do you intend to cling to each other? All of you come with me to the main tent!"

The grand tent that the Emerald Overlord referred to wasn’t his own tent but rather the camp originally set up by Mulan’s army in the forest to the west of the oasis. The location chosen for this spot was excellent, with grass like a carpet, poplar trees all around, and sunlight only able to sprinkle through the treetops casting specks of gold, and a lake of clear water was just five hundred yards away.

All of these Mulan tents were made of camel skin, sharing a resemblance to Beamon’s beast pens with their square shape. Flags with tassels stood outside, and Ali Dai’s commander’s tent was easily distinguishable, as the possessions of the high-ranking always slightly differ from those of ordinary people.

The moment Liu Zhenhan entered the commander’s tent, he saw Bellamy happily gnawing on a sweet melon while tilting his head to examine a military map hung on the wall behind the main seat, his arms full of shiny golden and silver cups and bowls.

The tent was very spacious, with a thick layer of sheep’s wool carpet on the ground and several wooden tables laden with gold and silver pitchers inlaid with gems. The tent walls all around were draped with gilded curved swords and shields, and a single section was partitioned off with a curtain of pearls.

Liu Zhenhan lifted the pearl curtain and looked inside the inner tent, which turned out to be a plummet filled with animal hides, cluttered with robes and daily necessities, and two black-veiled women crouching fearfully in a corner, trembling.

"Boss, you’re here?" Bellamy turned his head with a smile, eagerly pointing to a huge map on the front tent wall, "I even found our Fèrengree on this map!"

"Really?" Liu Zhenhan crossed over from the main seat, picking out a large pomegranate from a glass fruit plate, and while splitting it, he turned to look as Bellamy, smiling, made way for him, cuddling his golden and silver treasures and pointing out a spot on the map.

Just one glance at the map, and Liu Zhenhan was completely stunned; the pomegranate quietly slipped from between his fingers and "thudded" onto the sheep’s wool carpet.

This military map started from the Yale Oasis in the south as the baseline, which could clearly be identified by the pear-shaped trend of the desert and the coastline. It marked very clearly where the oases and ancient city ruins in the desert were; not only that, but the entire map also encompassed all the countries on the Aegean Continent. Apart from the Hundred Thousand Mountains south of the Bering Ranges and the Sunset Marshes being unmarked, the topography of the entire continent was clear at a glance, especially the Bimon Kingdom. From plains to hills, from rivers to cities, everything was recorded accurately, even Razor Mountain and Red Earth Highland at the foot of Mount Tamerlarya were marked, with some fine print faintly signed above.

Liu Zhenhan could hardly believe his own eyes!
