Chapter 183: Big Brother 1

Chapter 183: Big Brother 1

Oliver swaggered out of his room, scratching his head. It was already noon, and no one was inside the house.

After eating breakfast, he went to sleep again and woke up at noon.

Today, he was planning to do nothing.

Walking to the sofa in the living room, he lay flat on it. With a flick of his leg, he pressed the remote controller. The TV attached to the wall before him came to life.

After that, time sped.

Oliver was waiting for his brother to come home so they could have a much-needed conversation. But his brother was nowhere to be seen.

Yawing loudly, he picked up the phone and dialled his brother’s number.

"Why are you calling me?" Immediately, Arin’s voice was heard from the other side of the phone.

"Why? You are asking me why? When will you get home?" Oliver asked, his voice rising by a few decibels.

"..." Arin didn’t immediately reply.

He hesitated for a while and said, "I will be late today. I have a combat training class."

The reply amused Oliver. He suddenly grinned.

"Brother, are you trying to con the con artist? Why are you lying to me about a combat class that doesn’t exist?"

Arin panicked.

"What do you know? I have classes." He firmly said, trying to hide his panic.

"Yeah, sure. More bullcrap. You should change your job title from part-timer to a professional bullshitter." Oliver muttered.

Before Arin could say anything against it, Oliver added, "I met Stephanie and Victoria yesterday, before I came back home."

"They were in rough shape and had a lot to talk about you."

Arin’s face showed shock and panic. The composure he showed through his voice crumbled into nothing.

"You...met them!" Trembling like a leaf during a storm, he asked.

"Yeah, I did." Oliver sniggered.

His voice pierced Arin, causing him to go weak. Promptly, he grabbed a railing of the building he was standing on and supported himself.

Hesitating for a while, he asked.

"What did they say?"

"You know what they said."

"Gulp...Did they?"

"Yes, they did. So, when are you coming home? I wanted to have a chat with you before our parents came home, little brother. No, I can’t call you little brother anymore. Big brother it is, from now on."

Oliver added a snide comment at the end, as the nervous Arin breathed loudly.

Arin was standing outside his classroom, holding the railing. To hide his embarrassment, he went back inside and sat down.

All of his classmates had already left the school, so he was alone inside.

"Brother, don’t say that..." He said in a muffled voice. "I don’t know what I should do."

He seemed to be on the verge of crying.

This time, Oliver felt a little bad.

Had he pushed his brother far enough to make him cry?

While Oliver was cold-blooded, heartless and cruel towards his enemies, he didn’t want to be the same with his family and friends.

Stuffing back the insults that came to his mouth, he asked.

"Where are you? We need to meet and have a chat. Before I tell my dear parents, I should know the full details, right?"

"Hm... We need to tell them." Arin was still in shock. He repeated the exact words Oliver said absentmindedly.

"Hey! Dumbass. Where are you?" Oliver asked louder.

"Hm..." Arin snapped out and instinctively replied, "I am at school."

"Why are you still at school?" Oliver asked.

Arin was supposed to reach home by this time, so why was he still loitering around the school?

Oliver wanted to know.

Arin hesitated for a second and replied. "They are standing outside the school gate, waiting for me."

"Ah...sigh." Oliver sighed. "Again? Are they going to beat you up like last time?"

Arin hummed in affirmation.

"Then, call Stephen and Victor to keep you company. I’ll be there in a minute."

Oliver muttered and ended the call.

The situation was complicated. Oliver didn’t want his brother to be beaten up again. So, he quickly went to the school.

Instead of a minute, it took nearly twenty minutes to reach the school.

Casually, he strolled into the school compound wearing his old uniform.

Oliver was eighteen years old and had graduated from high school a couple of months prior. During these months, he had gained a significant amount of muscle. Because of his revival, he had converted his muscles into strong, lean muscles that could interact slightly with mana.

Simply put, his body was now like a chiselled sculpture. Due to him gaining lean muscles, his face also lost its chubby fat and looked different.

No one recognised him as he walked through the gate.

The security guards at the school entrance also thought he was just a student and let him enter without any problem.

’Nice to know I still look young and handsome.’ He thought.

He was eighteen years old, and looking young was a given. Due to his well-trained body, he also looked significantly better than before. It would not be easy to recognise him unless they were a close kin or friend.

It took Oliver a few seconds to find the grade 11 classroom.

"Hello." He waved his hand and walked in when he saw his brother sitting with Stephen and Victor.

Immediately, they stood up respectfully.

All of them looked down, drooping their head.

Arin was particularly gloomy.

"Big brother, are you okay?" Oliver joked.

Arin finally lifted his head, smiling wryly.

"Brother." He said, trying to hide his nervousness.

Oliver shook his head, "No, you should call me little brother from now on," he corrected.

"..."

"..."

"..."

Three of them looked at each other, wondering what Oliver was up to now.

"Big brother, did you see them?" Arin asked.

"No, and even if I did, I won’t recognise them," Oliver said, walking closer.

"Let’s sit down and talk about how my little brother became my big brother before we meet my in-laws."

Oliver sat right in front of them, crossing his legs.

Immediately, three of them sat.

None of them wanted Oliver to be angry.
