I messed up! I let my guard down in the presence of that vampire and now Emma is gone and I can’t think straight. I let them take her, they took my gears too and I was left in nothing but my clothes and my racing thoughts.

I kept banging on the door and shouting at whoever was out there to open the damn door and let me out, fiddling with the locks too but it wouldn’t open. I kicked it too but it only shook from the impact, it might be an old door but it was damn too strong. I paced to the window opening it and looking around the bright skies, I leveled my gaze.

"Shit"

It’s a long way down, I can’t make the jump without breaking a leg and I don’t know how far my healing abilities went, I wasn’t about to taste that theory in a place like this. I could feel it, this place was crawling with vamps and I was brought straight to the nest.

I heard the door and I quickly turned The moment the door opened. That same vampire, Luther, strolled in like he owned the place, hands in his pocket with a smirk I wanted to wipe off. He checked his Rolex watch before looking back at me.

"There’s not much time"

"Time for what?!" I snapped. "Where is my sister?"

"Now..." he sighed. "Many many things... don’t even know where to start" he chuckled but nothing sounds funny right now... maybe he has a screw loose.

"Where is my sister?" I asked once again, I cared about nothing else.

"Let’s go to her then. Will you listen to what I have to say when I do that?"

Do I even have a choice?

He smacked his lips. "I take that as a yes, follow me" he nudged his head walking out of the room and I quickly followed. I spotted one vampire following behind, he looked more intimidating than the others, but the only one who reeked of authority here was Luther.

Was he their leader or something? I don’t know about how the vampires operate, maybe they have someone who leads them.

"Don’t mind Darren, he doesn’t like anyone, mostly you" Luther mused and turned to set my eyes on Darren with a dark expression.

"I don’t care," I said, my legs getting jelly and I held onto the wall for support, I felt so weak, and my vision was blurry too, I felt like I was fading. And it was getting much harder to stay awake.

Finally, we got to a door and I was breathing heavily like I just ran, but I still tried to stay on my feet even though everything seemed like it was withering.

The door opened and just Luther and I walked in and it closed behind us. Relief found me when I spotted Emma on the bed, all cleaned up with a new set of clothes on her, shorts and a white t-shirt with the covers over her.

White t-shirt?

I walked closer, was I seeing things or was my mind playing tricks on me? "Her bleeding stopped?" I reached for her shirt and lifted it gently. The bite mark was still there and it was puny and red. It would definitely leave a scar, but it looked like it healed.

"How is this..." I couldn’t even finish my words as I turned to Luther for an explanation, he took the liberty of helping himself to the chair and crossing his leg on top of the other.

"Because she’s not dead, Grayson"

"What are you-"

"Let’s say she is in a state of life and death"

"Her heart is not beating... I held her in my arms and..." I swallowed. "Her body was cold"

"All symptoms of a dead person, yes?" he muses. "But she’s not... that is enough to tell you"

He pointed to the wound and I turned back to it gulping hard, I covered her back and rested my back on the wall.

"You feel cold... weak, like you’re dying" he continued. "That’s because your body tells you she’s still fighting for her life... you both have a special connection, We have never had twins before but we do know, so I don’t know how deep that connection runs"

"What the fuck are you saying?!" I seethed.

"You know what I’m saying" he shrugged. "Isn’t it obvious?"

I laughed, I fucking laughed because that was the only thing I could do right now, I dragged myself down and sat on the floor running my hands through my hair.

"You’re part vampire, both of you. The other bloodline, the other half"

"You’re joking"

"If I was... I would have just bleed you dry right now, but you’re important. It’s not every day you get to see hybrids"

His words even though holding amusement... I could feel he wasn’t messing with me, which only made pure dread consume me.

"Wondered why you were separated at birth?" he began. "Because at a tender age, the aura you were both born with would have killed one of you... Just like the saying, only the strong survive. Cassius saw this and did the honors by splitting you two"

"Cassius?"

His smirk got broader. "Your father, Cassius Morelock"

I suddenly remembered that day, when Emma and I found out the truth, about the mysterious man we saw that day.

Months Ago (When The Truth Was Revealed)

"She was blessed with two," the nurse said. "The first of the two born with two mixed bloodlines" she adds. "What should we do?"

"As planned," the man said. "Separating them is what’s best... they cannot be too close to each other not until it’s time"

"Of course... There’s a woman who gave birth to a still child... by your permission, I will give the girl to her and come up with a story, everything is in place" She reached for the baby girl.

"No!" His voice boomed and the nurse froze in place like she was caught in a trap.

"She looks so much like her mother" he stated, "Let her be with her instead, and ..." he trailed off and moved his other hand to caress the baby boy on his bald head and he moved due to the action.

"The boy goes away, he is his sister’s anchor and must be strong and worthy for that"

"Then it is a good idea for the woman I intend to entrust him with is a Venator," The nurse said with a smile on her lips.

"Good"

"And the mother?"

"I will see her"

It all clicked in and all the more shocking, I remained still as the wall behind me, I wasn’t even sure I was breathing right at this moment, the truth centered on him if I wanted to believe it or not.
