Chapter 259: Board 241 Situation A

As the announcement sounded, passengers in the cabin began to stand up.

Paine rose with his mother, unable to resist glancing back at Li Chengyi.

"You can do it!" Li Chengyi gave him a thumbs up.

The boy nodded vigorously, clutching the business card in his pocket.

Although he had memorized the number on it, it seemed like the act of holding it gave him more strength.

In the line snaking towards the exit, a mother and daughter sitting opposite Li Chengyi also stood up.

"Shi Han, where shall we go first? Do we follow the group, or do we go to the hotel on our own?" the elderly lady whispered to her daughter.

"I’ve made calls, but there seems to be some trouble at the airport. I couldn’t get through to Yan... The warm-hearted male friend from before is now suddenly out of reach, no matter how hard I try to contact him."

"Then we should stick with the group. It’s safer with more people," the elderly lady decisively said.

"Alright... I’ll look into it and see what’s going on with them!" the woman in black stockings slightly gritted her teeth, feeling that she had lost face in front of her mother.

Especially after making such confident promises before.

They stood up, reaching for the luggage overhead, but both seemed to lack the strength to retrieve it.

Li Chengyi reached out and gently took their suitcase down as if lending a hand was the most natural thing for him.

"Thank you, young man!" the elderly lady said gratefully. "Are you also here for a desert sightseeing?

"Sort of," Li Chengyi felt quite fond of this kind-looking elderly lady.

"Well, you should be careful. It’s better to stay with the group. Places like Sutan can be chaotic," the elderly lady advised. "You’ve got the embassy’s number memorized, right? Don’t forget the local consulate hotline. It could save your life in a critical moment."

"Got it all," Li Chengyi nodded with a smile.

The two struck up a casual conversation, ignoring the woman in black stockings as they waited to disembark.

When the elderly lady learned Li Chengyi was from Suiyang, she became even happier, as she had a good impression of the place from a past business trip. She’d lost her wallet there, and someone had found it and waited a long time in the same spot for her to retrieve it.

It wasn’t until the line in front of them began to move slowly.

That she ceased her cheerful chatter about old memories.

"Xiao Yi, right? If you’re free, come to Chaoyu for a visit. I’ll show you around one of the four great self-sustaining cities in Yi Country, a mechanical city of super-scale that’s rare in the whole world!"

"I’ll definitely take you up on that," Li Chengyi replied with a nod.

"Let’s go, let’s go, no more talking," the woman in black stockings was already impatient.

Learning that Li Chengyi was from a small place like Suiyang and had only an ordinary undergraduate degree made her even more impatient.

She was used to being surrounded by young talents. Those who appeared in her life either had family background or talent. Those with neither didn’t even deserve to speak around her.

Only in a special environment like an international flight to Sutan could such an encounter happen.

"Well, Xiao Yi, we’ll be going on ahead," the elderly lady said her goodbyes.

"Sure. Take care, auntie," Li Chengyi nodded.

He watched them move slowly with the crowd, while he stood still and took out his phone.

"Boss, we’ve arrived at the airport." — Qiong An.

"Good. Meet at the airport’s main hall," Li Chengyi sent a group message.

"Okay." — Rainbow Candy.

"Understood." — Dragon Gate Crane.

"Boss, be careful. The Sutan officials have been targeting Blind Spot individuals lately, and the specific details are still unclear. But it’s best to avoid any conflict with officials," — Qiong An.

"Alright. Don’t worry, we’re all law-abiding good citizens," Li Chengyi responded.

After waiting a bit, Li Chengyi saw two ’sisters’ slowly walking out of the opposite cabin.

...Hmm, the shorter one in front is Rainbow Candy, and the taller ’younger sister’ behind is Dragon Gate Crane.

Yes, they were using the identities of sisters with forged documents for this urgent trip.

Thanks to Rainbow Candy’s formidable hacking skills, this was a breeze.

But...

The two eager young men following Dragon Gate Crane... What was that about?

Li Chengyi had an odd expression as he watched Dragon Gate Crane, poised like a lady, being entertained by the two men, which made him feel an indescribable strangeness.

Looking ahead at Rainbow Candy, her expression was clearly on the verge of exploding.

Clearly, she had not enjoyed the torment of the group behind her before.

And while the two young men were only attentive to Dragon Gate Crane, they hardly reacted to Rainbow Candy, enhancing her frustration with the stark contrast.

"Boss!" Seeing Li Chengyi approaching, Rainbow Candy immediately raised her hand to call out.

"The boss is here; time to go. We’ll chat later," Dragon Gate Crane said in a smothered voice, throwing a wink at the two men.

Both men, thinking the wink was for them alone, were energized by the illusion and very excited.

After exchanging contact details, they too left.

Soon, only Li Chengyi and the two ’sisters’ were left in the cabin, intentionally being the last ones to disembark.

"Remember, our mission is to be quick and decisive, to locate Harns as soon as possible and determine the Book of Record’s whereabouts. The activities of Noel Company are only secondary," Li Chengyi once again reminded them.

"Understood!" both of them responded in unison.

"Let’s go then," Li Chengyi led the way.

"Oh, boss, if we encounter trouble in Sutan, can I try my hand first?" Rainbow Candy suddenly said.

"If you wish," Li Chengyi said with a smile, "but don’t stray too far from me."

In the airport hall, groups of travelers from Yi Country slowly exited the security area and headed towards the baggage carousel to retrieve their suitcases.

Li Chengyi and his two companions walked at the very end, following the crowd toward the baggage carousel.

Whoosh.

Suddenly, two armed soldiers on either side swiftly lowered the barrels of their guns, blocking Li Chengyi and his companions.

"Here come three more cuties," a red-haired Agasha Mein said casually as she approached the trio with steps so wobbly they seemed like she might fall at any moment.

"The Garden of Fate from Yi Country?" Her gaze fixed on the three with a strange intensity.

"Officer, may I ask what we have done wrong? Or is there a terrorist hidden on the plane that requires our cooperation with a search?" Li Chengyi asked politely.

"Your team, I heard there’s a member called ’Thug,’ right?" Agasha Mein asked with a smile, stepping closer.

"Major Agasha, they are honored guests of our family. What do you mean by stopping them?" Qiong An, wearing a white waist-tied long dress, approached rapidly with her entourage, her expression stern.

At this moment, she showed no sign of the dishevelment she had before. Instead, she radiated a combination of competence and stunning beauty.

Her blonde hair, like tassels, draped over her shoulders, reflecting a faint golden glow. Her facial features were finely made up, and she wore tech accessories on her earlobes that glinted with a spectrum of colors.

The two fully armed individuals following her wore silver-grey exoskeletons, resembling two tall robots. Compared to the exoskeletons of the surrounding soldiers, their gear seemed more exquisite and advanced.

"I am currently on official duty. If you have a complaint," Agasha turned to look at Qiong An, "you can go to the military department and report me."

He still had that malicious smile on his face.

"I swear on my honor as Qiong An Dulien...!" Qiong An declared resolutely, patting her lofty chest.

"You can’t guarantee anything, Ms. Qiong An. The Dulien family cannot be represented by you alone..." Agasha waved dismissively without a care.

Suddenly, several soldiers stepped forward, blocking Qiong An and her two companions from coming any closer.

Furious, Qiong An’s face turned red, and the two individuals behind her took a step forward, on the verge of a confrontation.

"So, Major Agasha, what exactly is your purpose in stopping us?" Li Chengyi asked in a timely manner.

His voice redirected everyone’s attention back to the situation at hand.

"Ah... actually, it’s nothing much," Agasha said, somewhat taken aback by Li Chengyi’s composure. "It’s just that your luggage might contain high-risk devices, so we need to check inside. If anything is found, it must be confiscated directly."

"You son of a—!" Rainbow Candy’s face changed, about to erupt in anger, but Li Chengyi quickly stopped her.

"A security check? Of course, we are willing to cooperate," Li Chengyi said earnestly.

"Is that so? That would be best," Agasha said, surprised that the other party could remain so calm. He had no prior plan for this reaction.

Meanwhile, other passengers had received their baggage and were leaving one by one.

Only a few Blind Spot teams, unwilling to just walk away, were observing how things would unfold.

Some tried making phone calls to pull strings in an attempt to retrieve their equipment.

The Northern Shore Star and Sea Wolves teams were among them, notably present.

Just then, the soldier responsible for the security check finally got Rainbow Candy and her two companions’ luggage.

One of them reached for the largest of the three suitcases.

It was a pink suitcase, marked with a colorful bubble design.

"This one’s big, I’ll take it first!" a black soldier chuckled, picking up a tool and aiming it at the lock.

Hiss.

Suddenly, a mechanical switch at the lock automatically detected something, sliding open from green to red.

Beep beep beep beep!!

A series of urgent alarms started blaring from a handheld scanner nearby.

"What’s going on?" The black soldier looked at his companion who was handling the scanner, perplexed.

"So... so many... bombs!!!" The soldier with the scanner turned pale as his face instantly lost all color.

On the scanner’s display, the energy readings had far surpassed the normal range of T5... reaching the level of T10!

"They’re all... all T10!"

The soldiers’ faces turned white.

A single T10 was enough to blow up half of the airport terminal.

With so many T10s...

If they blew up, the entire airport would be gone...

Beep beep beep...

A countdown appeared on an LCD on the outside of the suitcase, counting down from five minutes.

Panic began to spread among the soldiers.

The news quickly reached Agasha through his earpiece.

His face, still contorted in its mocking grin, suddenly stiffened.

His blue eyes snapped onto Li Chengyi and his companions, who awaited calmly in front of him.

"Carrying super bombs on you? Do you know what you’re doing!?"

"These people are all terrorists. Throw the bomb out of the airport immediately, and the rest of you, take them down!" He violently drew his gun and pointed it at the three.

"I dare you to try!" Qiong An roared, drawing her gun.

Whoosh!

Seeing her draw her gun, the surrounding soldiers promptly raised their weapons and aimed at the group.

"I freaking hate..." Rainbow Candy glared at the barrel of the gun, "people pointing guns at me!"

Bang!

Suddenly, she smacked the barrel of Agasha’s gun with her palm.

Her speed was so fast that even Agasha, enhanced by a Genetic Enhancement Needle, didn’t have time to react.

The handgun was knocked askew and sent flying.
