Chapter 91: Chapter 91 - Starfall Showdown Tournament Part 9
Two days passed in fracture time, and the first event came to a close. Expectedly, the dragons came in first place with a whopping 2,000 points, followed by the humans with 950 points.
The Elves came in third place with 350 points. Since they couldn’t hunt past the first day, their numbers were a lot lower compared to the humans.
The Beastmen came fourth with 300 points, and the Dwarves came in last with 200 points. Because of that, the dwarves were eliminated from the tournament.
"Heh, he really fucked them over." Taurak laughed as he saw the scoreboard.
The Elves were giving Zion a nasty look as they saw their score. Thankfully, they managed to place, but because of Zion’s actions, they weren’t able to hunt and almost got eliminated.
The dwarves were chill about it, surprisingly. They were just happy they were able to drink such good wine and would do it again in a heartbeat.
"Fucking weak bastards! Can’t hunt monsters effectively, so they use cowardly tactics! Where is your pride as a warrior?!" The beastmen were furious. They didn’t even care about the points but about how they were taken out.
As a race that prided themselves on their combat prowess, skills, and strength, they hated how they were taken out by ambush tactics and weakness exploitations.
"See? I told you guys my plan would work." Zion smirked, looking at the leaderboards. "Now we’re in guaranteed fourth place and won’t come last this year."
Kaitlin shook her head with a smile in disbelief. "I can’t believe your plan actually worked."
"Since Zion made the plan, it was bound to be effective," Luna commented
Lars slapped Zion on the back. "I won’t ever underestimate you again, man."
"Hmph, just because your plan worked doesn’t mean you’re anything special," Eliza muttered under her breath.
"Zion!" Lidia ran up to Zion, diving right into his arms. "Congratulations on getting through the first event. I can’t wait to see you win this thing!"
"Thanks, babe. I could hear you cheering me on." He smiled
"That’s odd. I didn’t cheer for you, though."
"Huh? Then what was that voice in my head saying, ’you can do it, Zion!’?"
"Your imagination." She laughed
"So that’s what that was." He said, acting clueless.
Valindra and Syrune looked on at Zion and Lidia in shock. They noticed that he was clearly in a relationship, and yet he had the gall to kiss both of them? He was scum in their eyes, a two timing bastard who stole their first kiss.

"Wow! What a fantastic end to the first event! Who would have thought the human team would sabotage three other teams to qualify for the next round?" Zircon announced to sound entertaining.
"With that event now finished, it’s time to announce what the second event will entail!"
The crowd went wild, excited to know what would be happening next.
"For our next event, it will be a survival match! Each team will have fifteen points each, three points per person, and the last team standing with the most members will qualify for the next round!"
Zion nodded. ’Seems easy enough.’ He thought to himself.
"However, there’s a catch. Not only will the teams be pitted against each other, but you’ll also be randomly teleported across the battlefield, separated from your teammates. Survival will depend on your individual strength. If you’re lucky enough to reunite with your team, you can fight together. Hell, you can even ally with another team if you want. But remember this—every member counts. Lose one, and your chances drop. Each person will be given an enchanted bracelet that wraps the body in a faint, thin barrier outlining the person’s body. There are three charges for this bracelet, and each time the barrier breaks, one point is lost. Once all three charges are used, you’ll be transported back to the stadium and hope your team can qualify without you."
Zion threw his arms up in the air with frustration. "Oh, come on! You expect me to believe that Eliza can hold her own?"
"Wow, fuck you too dude!"
"Heh, I’m just fucking with you."
"You’re so annoying."
King Zircon kept announcing. "We’ll continue after an hour break! Go get some snacks, use the restroom, stretch your legs, and enjoy the other attractions in the meantime. We’ll be back in an hour!"
Zion split up from his team, walking back with Lidia to his family, when he was stopped by someone unexpected.
"Valindra was it? Do you have business with me?"
She looked at Lidia and scoffed. "Is this woman your future wife?" She asked
"And if I am?" Lidia asked, her tone laced with sass and confidence.
"Hmph. Since you had the guts to announce our engagement to everyone here, I had assumed you had good taste in women. It seems I was wrong." She smirked, looking at Lidia.
"Excuse me bitch? Why don’t you say that shit again?" Her hair stood up in a fiery storm, blazing uncontrollably.
"What? I’m obviously prettier than you, and judging by Zion’s showing of affection toward me, it seems he likes me more as well. While I never expected to have a sister wife, since it’s Syrune, I’ll accept it. She’s my close friend after all."
"Wait, wait, wait! What the actual fuck are you talking about?" Zion asked.
Valindra looked at Zion with a confused expression. "What do you mean? You kissed me and Syrune."
"And?"
She was stunned by his ignorance. "In elvish culture, you are only allowed to kiss the person you plan to commit your life to. This act is only permitted between husband and wife, however, if it happens beforehand, the two individuals would become engaged. This doesn’t apply to blood relatives, though."
"Wait, so you’re saying that Zion basically proposed to you and Syrune?" Lidia asked astonished
"Y-Yes." Valindra blushed. "You didn’t know?"
"Honestly, no. I just wanted to mess with you two. I didn’t even know about that custom."
[Zion, you’re an idiot.]
’Shut it, Tessa!’
"So you didn’t know what you were doing when you kissed us? It was all just a joke to you?" Valindra asked, visibly offended.
"Yeah, sorry," Zion answered.
"Asshole!" She turned around, a tear shedding down her face as she stormed off.
Lidia chuckled. "You’re totally adding her to your harem, aren’t you?"
"Abso-fucking-lutely!" Zion smirked as he watched Valindra meet back up with her group.
