Chapter 89: Chapter 89 - Starfall Showdown Tournament Part 7

Zion knew the difference between Dragons, Wyverns, and Drakes, and he knew that he would be able to handle one with relative ease.

Drakes were the weakest of the draconic species, not even having wings or a breath attack. They were still powerful when compared to the other races and even within the dragon race itself, but they weren’t the most powerful. In their human form, they had horns and a tail.

Wyverns were more powerful, not only having wings but also a breath attack. They were the second strongest of their species and only had horns in their human form. They did not have four legs since their front legs also acted as wings.

Dragons were the peak of their species, having both wings, four legs, and a breath attack. They commanded their species, and in their human form, they didn’t have any draconic features besides slightly pointed ears, not to the extent of elves, though.

Vespok came at Zion with the intention of dragging him down to the ground, giving him a little beating, and presenting him before Nyx.

What he did not expect was for Zion to grab his hand, pull it close, and clobber him so hard he blacked out for a second, only waking back up once he was already on the ground inside a crater he created from the impact of his body.

"What the fuck?" Taurak exclaimed in disbelief that a human did that to one of their own.

Zion laughed, "I’m not here to fight you all, not yet, at least."

[Systems back online.]

’Nice.’

"So why are you here?" Nyx asked, someone on alert, seeing as how Vespok got one-shotted.

"Just to see how you all were doing, honest."

Taurok didn’t like the tone of Zion’s voice. "Then why did you provoke us, huh?! Saying that we don’t look tough! Do you want to die? If you were a real man, you would say that shit to my face!"

Chuckling, Zion descended, landing onto the snowy, blood-stained ground. He walked over to Taurok with full confidence and stood directly in his face.

"Like I said before, you lizard bitches don’t look so tough." He smirked

"Oh, you’re asking for it!" He struck Zion with so much force that the land split in half from the sheer pressure of his fists, even though it didn’t touch the ground. "That’ll teach him."

"Teach me what?" Zion asked, standing in the exact same spot without a scratch on him.

"How in the motherfucking hell?" Taurak stammered

"Houuu?" Kaida looked on, impressed.

Vespok tsked under his breath, and Dalys was expressionless.

"You have guts, human, I’ll give you that. But if your goal was to piss us off, congratulations, you’ve succeeded." Nyx started gathering power, but Zion held out his hand, telling her that he wasn’t going to escalate things any further.

"I’m serious. I don’t plan on messing with you guys, just wanted to see how strong you were. I’ll be leaving now." He turned around. "Oh, before I forget, I owe you a punch." He gathered his strength to mimic the same attack Taurak did, punching the air beside him and splitting the earth on the opposite side.

"With that, we’re even." Zion took off into the sky, rocketing back to his team.

"Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!" Taurak laughed as he felt blood run down his cheek from a small cut left behind by Zion’s attack.

"I like that human! He better be in the finals so I can crush that arrogant face of his!"

---

"Where have you been?" Kaitlin asked, breathing heavily as the group finished fighting against a wave of monsters.

"Ensuring that we don’t get eliminated this round," Zion responded.

"What? Have you been spying on the other teams or something?" Lars asked jokingly

"How’d you know? That’s exactly what I’ve been doing. Ha, you’re smarter than you look."

"W-What?"

"So why were you spying on them?" Eliza asked.

"Didn’t I tell you before? We’re going to sabotage their chances of qualifying. Makes things easier for us." He shrugged his shoulders

"That makes sense. What do you plan to do?" Luna asked.

"Well, the dwarves are easy, I just plan on giving them alcohol laced with a sleeping drug. It will knock them out for two whole days. For the beastmen, they’re sensitive to strong smells and high-frequency sounds."

"High-frequency?" Kaitlin asked

"Sounds so loud that it hurts your ears." Zion dumbed down.

"Oh."

"The elves will be the most difficult since they don’t have something I can exploit, so we’ll have to lure them in and take them out one by one."

While everyone didn’t agree with him, they decided to go along with his plan.

"What about the dragons?" Lars asked.

Eliza slapped him on the arm for asking such a stupid question.

"We aren’t going to mess with them. I just came back from chatting with those guys, and it will be best if we don’t cross paths."

"They’re that strong, huh?"

"What? No. If we had to fight, you four would be a liability and only slow me down. Luna would be the only one who could have my back, and even she wouldn’t do too well against them. No offence."

"You speak the truth, so there is nothing to be upset about." She answered.

Kaitlin rolled her eyes. "So, when are we going to enact your plan?"

"Tonight, after everyone sets up camp. I know where they are all staying, so we’ll strike then."

"And if the plan fails?" Eliza asked

"Then we’ll have to do this the old-fashioned way," Zion smirked, punching his hand.

"Oh, whatever, tell us what to do."

"Lars and Eliza will bring this alcohol to the dwarves. That’s really all there is to it. They’re stupid when it comes so this stuff so don’t fuck it up. Kaitlin and Luna will go to where the beastmen are and plant these seeds into the ground. It will instantly bother their sense of smell and make them go crazy. After that, blow into this whistle. I’ll handle the elves. By morning, there should only be us and the dragons left to hunt the remaining monsters." He handed Eliza and Lars the alcohol and the whistle, and seeds to Luna and Kaitlin.

The seeds were metal balls that contained a strong-smelling gas that only affected beastmen and would linger on their bodies for two days.

"Take these compasses, they’ll lead you to your targets. Let’s go."
