Blade of the Goddess -
Chapter 244
Chapter 244: Chapter 244
Zion took a seat. "Well, I have good news and bad news. Which one do you wish to hear first?"
"The good news!" Ginger shouted
"Yeah, I wanna hear the good news." Lidia agreed.
Alice shrugged. "Doesn’t matter to me. You’ll tell us both anyway."
"Ahem!" Luminera glared at the girls with an expression that asked, ’Why are you all giving your opinion when he’s asking me?’
"Sorry." They apologized
"I want to hear the bad news first," Luminea said.
"Well, the bad news is that I wasn’t able to absorb the nexus energy. Apparently, I’m way too weak to absorb it, and I’d die if I managed to at my current state."
"Uh, duh. Not even gods can handle the Nexus Energy easily. If we’re not strong enough, then we could die."
"Oh wait, speaking of Gods dying, how is that possible? Aren’t gods immortal?" Zion wondered.
"We’re immortal, yes, but we aren’t unkillable. Gods, Titans, and even Primordials can die, it’s just that our death isn’t the same type of death as mortals or even Angels and demons."
"So, what’s the difference?"
"The universe as a whole is a conscious, living being that acts on instinct. Its instinct is to breathe life, nurture that life, allow it to die, then recycle it so the process can start again. For mortals, they have a soul. When they die, their soul gets taken to the reincarnation cycle and gets cleansed of all their memories, experiences, and being. Then, they are placed in a new host where their life begins anew as a completely different person, sometimes in the same world, sometimes in another. Sometimes in the same time period, sometimes in the future, or even the past." Luminera explained
"Wait, so the past, present, and future are all active at the same time?" Zion already knew of this thanks to scientific theories from his past world; however, it was never able to be proven. Getting confirmation of that really set off the nerd in him.
"Yes. Anyway, a God is connected to the world that they reside in, or where their followers are. If a god is killed, they will be absorbed into the will of the world, where they will either completely merge with it or be dormant until they reemerge, if they can. As for a Titan, since they transcended the need of a world, it will be the universe they are tied to. Their death functions the same way as a god, but it’s the will of the universe that they could be absorbed into or just be dormant. And as for Primordials, only their body can be destroyed, their soul cannot. They’re more powerful as a soul anyway, since by that point in power, they are just pure cosmic energy basically. So while their body is killable, their entire being is eternal."
After hearing that, Zion’s interest in primordial grew. "Wow, this makes me want to become a Primordial now."
Luminera scoffed. "Yeah, sure. Just letting you know, the number of primordial in the universe is far less than you might expect. Titans can roam the universe freely, yet even they might never come across a Primordial in their lives."
"That won’t stop me."
She rolled her eyes. "The good news?"
"I’ve spoken to Willow and she said she’ll help me out."
Everyone furrowed their brow. "Willow?"
"Hmm? Ahh! The will of the world. Her name is Willow." Zion said while nodding.
Luminera looked confused. "Isn’t the will of the world just a talking ball of light? I’ve met them plenty of times before. I don’t recall them being a woman and having a name."
"Yeah, that’s true. However, I gave her a name and told her to take an appearance. And so, she did." He rubbed his nose with pride.
"And you told her to be a girl?"
"No! All planets with habitable life are women. Ever heard of the term ’Mother Nature’? Obviously, she’ll be a woman!"
"Whatever, just continue."
"Well, basically, she told me to get all the relics, become a demigod/daemon, fill the nexus pools with both your and your sister’s power, and learn authorities. I don’t know how this would help me since even gods would struggle absorbing nexus energy, but hey, she said she’ll help, so I’ll trust her."
Luminera also didn’t understand why Zion needed to complete those tasks to absorb the nexus energy. Even as a demigod, he would still have a hard time absorbing the energy, even more so than a god.
"I don’t understand why you need to do those things, however, since we always planned on doing them anyway, I don’t see why we shouldn’t start now. I’ll take you to my divine realm so you can become a demigod. After that, you’ll be training with Lilith to learn Authorities."
"Wait, wait, wait! Luminera, I gotta finish things here first. We can do that after I take over the middle world. I only have two more kingdoms left."
She wasn’t having it. "Nope, you’re coming with me, now. Your people can handle the rest."
"No! They need me! I’m not going!" He ran away. Or at least tried to. He knew he was running, but he couldn’t feel his feet on the ground. When he looked down, he saw that his feet were running on the air because Luminera used her power on him.
"Put me down, woman!"
She smirked. "Is that how you’re supposed to talk to your goddess?"
"Please. After all I’ve done for you, I’m more of a god than you are."
That irritated her. "Alright, let’s see how you’ll handle what I’ll be doing to you!"
"If it involves sex, then I’m all on board."
"Oh, there will be smashing alright." She then clobbered Zion in the face so hard that space literally shattered, and he was sent flying into heaven.
"I’LL SMASH ALL YOUR BONES TO DUST YOU FUCKING BASTARD!" She took off after him.
"So..." The others just stood there awkwardly
Lacey sighed. "I guess we’ll be taking over the operation for the foreseeable future. Tessa, please inform everyone."
[Done.]
"Okay, girls, let’s get to work."
