Blade of the Goddess -
Chapter 245
Chapter 245: Chapter 245
Hylaea, the kingdom of dragons, is the most powerful kingdom in the middle world. Their strongest can contend with certain demons, and their kind were the only race that could break through to the Mystic Stage because of how powerful their bodies were.
They had the largest kingdom, spanning half of the continent. They roamed the land in their true forms, their massive dragon forms.
Because of this, everything was huge. Houses, churches, schools, arenas, and the Palace. This didn’t mean they were always in their dragon form. It was very common to see the dragon race take on their humanoid form, ranging from convenience to curiosity to comfortability.
One thing that the dragons loved was battle. They believed that the wisest and strongest should rule, and to prove that you’re the wisest and strongest, you would need to battle for it.
That is how every Dragon Lord became the ruler of their people.
When interacting with other races, they tended to look down on them, not out of superiority, but out of instinct. You don’t converse with an ant; you simply squash it. That was the mindset they had.
If you were worthy of their time or gained their respect, then they would see you as a companion, but not in the same way an elf or human would, but as an owner and their pet.
There are cases where dragons aren’t like this and treat everyone equally, such as Drakoth, and some even fell in love with other races.
To earn a dragon’s respect, you have to be strong, very strong. If you’re the strongest of your kind, they’ll see you as someone worth their time, but if you managed to beat one of them, then they would treat you with the utmost respect one could have.
"BEAT HIS ASS!"
"SHOW HIM HOW YOU ROLL!"
"RIP OFF HIS WINGS!"
"I can’t believe I’m rooting for a human! Get him, girl!"
Drakes, wyverns, and dragons were all going wild as they spectated a battle between a human and a dragon. The arena was packed to the brim with no seats left over, as the talk about a human beating their race had interested all of them.
Zaleena’s glare was deadly. The dragon she was facing had never felt such bloodlust before in his life. He was a part of the strongest race in the middle world, but he was feeling fear from a race that was at the bottom.
He was in his humanoid form, his claws extended and his hands burning with red fire. He was a red dragon from a noble lineage, and his pride was on the line.
When he heard that a human had broken through to the Mystic Sage and challenged any dragon who would dare face her, he laughed, thinking it was just bogus.
Then every drake that fought her lost badly.
Each of them was in the Mystic Stage and was greatly stronger than a human, elf, beastman, or dwarf. So, even though drakes were the weakest of the dragon race, they were still far superior to the other races.
So, when everyone saw Zaleena absolutely demolish her first opponent, they decided to take her seriously and send more challenging people.
She fought against countless Drakes and Wyverns and had beaten up a few dragons before her current opponent.
What made him different was that he was the first dragon from a noble lineage to face her. While she did beat drakes and wyverns from noble lineages, a dragon was on a whole different level.
’I got this. I acknowledge her strength, but she won’t beat me, even with that scary bloodlust she’s giving off.’ The dragon thought to himself,’
"What’s the matter?" Zaleena bellowed, casually holding her sword on her shoulders. "You scared? Aren’t you a noble dragon? I thought you all were different from those losers who faced me before."
Her words got under his skin.
"Take that back!" He demanded
"Make me, pussy!"
’That’s it! I’m killing her!’
With his mind now made up, he charged at her with the full intention of ending her life.
His claws sprang forward, and the energy that covered them could easily rip apart a mountain. His speed was unmatched, being able to keep up with even the fastest of dragons despite not being from a clan that specializes in speed. And his fire was so destructive that it could burn ashes.
Yet, even with all of that, he didn’t even realize when his arm was sliced off his body. He couldn’t even feel the pain. In fact, he still felt his arm as if nothing had happened. So when he struck Zaleena, he noticed that his arm didn’t reach her.
At first, he thought she did something to negate his attack as he had seen her do that before with previous opponents, but when he backed away, that’s when he noticed it, the trail of blood dripping from his body.
He looked down, seeing his arm lying on the ground in a pool of his own blood.
It was then that he felt the pain of his arm being severed and dropped to his knees, screaming in pain.
"Oh, stop bitching. It’s just an arm. Get up! Show me your dragon strength." Zaleena snarled.
"Y-You human bitch!"
"Ha, dragon pride my ass. You’re nothing bit a pussy." Zaleena punched the dragon in the face, teleported behind him, then kicked him in the back.
She used aura force, pulling him back in, charged her hand full of elemental energy, and blew up his chest with the impact of the blast.
Finally, after being knocked back, she teleported right above him, and she slammed her sword in his throat.
Since he’s a dragon, he wouldn’t die and would regenerate, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t feel any of the pain she inflicted.
The dragon was choking on his blood, feeling his airway getting clogged by his own blood. But still, he didn’t die, so he was just lying there on the ground, choking in agony, while Zaleena kicked him away as she was disappointed.
She grabbed her sword, and the dragon started to regenerate, but by the time he was physically back up, his mind was already broken.
"I-I surrender." He announced, running off the stage out of fear.
"YEAHHHH!!!"
"HA! I PLACED MY BETS ON THE HUMAN!"
"THAT’S POWER RIGHT THERE!"
"SHOW THOSE DRAGONS THEIR PLACE!"
"You’re a dragon too dumbass."
"Oh yeah. I was just feeling the moment, ha."
As the crowd went wild, Zaleena left the arena and headed back to her quarters for the time being. Once she arrived, she got a call from Lidia, who informed her about everything that transpired in the beastman kingdom.
’Guess I should start preparing this place for my son to take it over.’ She smirked.
