Chapter 101: Chapter 101 - Attack of the Demons Part 1

[Before the tournament began.]

Anastasia and the others made their way to the arena where the tournament would take place to prepare for their assault.

"I want everyone to get into their positions now! Inform every demonic human and demon to be on standby and wait for my order to start the attack. Blend in with the crowd, wait at all exits and entrances, and be ready to summon Gonrod."

"Yes, ma’am!" The grunts shouted, complying with her orders.

Anastasia then added, "Lastly, get the team ready for the relic extraction. When the battle begins, I want them to snag it as fast as possible before anyone notices. Once word gets out that a relic is underneath the academy, everyone will be after it."

"Understood!"

So, for the next few hours, every demon and demonic human prepared for their attack while watching the tournament in the meantime.

"Heh, I can see why you would be wary of this Zion guy, Olzak." Kaien nodded, impressed by his power.

"Tch, he wasn’t this strong when he faced me, and he’s still holding back. He can use holy power. Besides, he still wouldn’t be able to beat me." Olzak wasn’t going to admit that he was having mixed feelings about facing Zion now.

"Cope."

"Fuck you!"

Anastasia, on the other hand, was fascinated by Zion’s power. She didn’t know a human could get so powerful in such a way. He wasn’t just powerful, but it felt as if he was way stronger than his actual cultivation stage, which really intrigued her.

"I like that boy, I want to make him mine!" She said, licking her blood-red lips.

After seeing him beat Nyx, she wanted him even more.

"Mistress Anastasia, everything is ready, and we can start the summoning ritual," Adam informed.

"Good. Let’s begin." She hissed, snapping her fingers, which created a massive explosion in the middle of the entire stadium.

---

It wasn’t the cries of horror, pain, suffering, or the chaos that disoriented Zion, but the ringing of his ears that was so loud it made his head throb with an intense pain.

Or maybe it was the deep gash across his forehead that caused it.

"W-What the fuck just happened?" Zion asked, looking around at everything, but his mind was not fully registering what had happened.

[Some explosion went off, but I managed to create a barrier that protected you and all the contestants from mortal danger. However, since it was abrupt, I wasn’t able to make the barrier strong enough, so some people still got injured.]

Zion looked to his left and right, seeing all the contestants except the dragons on the ground either unconscious or in agonizing pain. He stretched out his arm and provided healing to everyone, ensuring that they would be alright. His vision was obscured by the thick dust cloud that lingered in the air, but he was able to recognize everyone.

"Zion?" Walking up to him while clutching her arm was Luna. She wasn’t badly hurt like some others, but she was visibly injured and needed proper medical attention, not the simple first aid Zion performed.

"Luna? Are you alright?" He asked, healing her some more while he too healed on his own, his mind becoming more and more clear.

"I don’t know. I feel lightheaded, but my head hurts a ton."

"You have a concussion. Don’t over-exert yourself. See if you can find a place to rest up."

She nodded.

Zion looked around, then swiped his hand, which got rid of the dust cloud that obscured his vision. What he saw afterward shocked him to the very core.

People were dying left and right, being killed by their sitting neighbors or ones they thought were friends. No one was spared, regardless of their age. It was a complete bloodbath.

"Why?! Why are you doing this to me? I thought we were friends!" One man yelled at the guy holding a sword above him.

"Haha! I’ve always hated you! I only acted like your friend so I can fuck your wife! By the way, all 8 of your kids are mine bitch!" He stabbed the guy in the chest, killing him.

"Arghhh!"

"Ahhhh!!"

"Help me!"

"Please spare my children!"

"B-But, you’re my brother!"

"Nooooooooo!"

"My son! Nooooo! Why have you taken my son away from me?!"

Some managed to avoid being killed and sprinted to the exits alongside their families, if they had one. Unfortunately, even the exits weren’t safe. Everyone who tried to leave was cut down by the ones who were waiting for them, sparing no one.

Zion’s eyes were wide with shock and confusion. Were they being controlled? He wondered. "What the fuck is going on?!"

[Zion, it’s subtle, but do you sense that energy? My scanners are picking up on a foreign energy inside each killer’s body.]

Zion honed in on one person and sensed the energy he was giving off. One confirmed, his face morphed into disgust.

"Demonic energy." He scoffed. "These bastards are demonic humans."

He looked around, spotting his family, and flew toward them.

"Tessa, are you okay?" He asked, hugging her tightly.

"I am. And you? You were caught in that blast!"

"I’m fine. Where’s my mom?"

"She’s with all the officials helping the civilians escape."

"Let’s gather everyone and leave this place. We’ll go to my house and figure out everything that’s going on."

"Okay." Lidia and the other nodded.

Before anyone could even take a step, the entire atmosphere changed. The sky went dark, clouds flashed with lightning, sparking the booming noise of thunder, and a massive red orb in the sky appeared with a magic circle forming above and below it.

"Look at what we have here!" Anastasia smiled, looking down on everyone from the sky. " All the ants in one place for me to squash." Her voice boomed.

Next to her were Demera, Kaien, and Olzak.

Once her presence was shown to everyone, all of the demonic humans stopped attacking and regrouped behind the demons in the air, thousands of people cluttering the sky as they ascended.

Feeling the presence of a powerful demon, Drakoth, Belwyn, Melina, Zircon, Bromir, Zaleena, Raven, Ignis, and every other important person returned to the stadium to confront their shared foe.

"How are you here?" Drakoth demanded, his voice radiating so much power that it shook the sky itself.

"Well, if it isn’t Drakoth himself! It’s been a while since I’ve last seen you! How long has it been? 10, 15 thousand years?" Anastasia asked. "

"Who is she?" The others asked

"She’s Anastasia, princess of the Vampires. A high-ranking demon. She aided in the murder of my father." Drakoth announced, his anger rising by the second.

"ZION ZAGAN! GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE NOW AND FACE ME!" Olzak demanded, his anger high and his thirst for revenge stronger than ever.

"Olzak." Zion scoffed.

"Oh, there you are! Hahaha! Come, boy, I’ll kill you right here and now!"

"Fuck off, I have no interest in a dead man." What Zion was interested in was why Anastasia looked very similar to Alice.

"You-"

"I’ll only say this once, Anastasia. Leave now, or you will face the full wrath of the Dragon Lord!" Drakoth bellowed

"A little lizard giving me demands? Cute. Come, everyone." She said, raising her hand.

At her beck and call, every single demonic human and demon that were hiding in the kingdom leaped out of the shadows and invaded the stadium.

Over 500,000 individuals, students, teachers, knights, mages, criminals, regular people, anyone who sided with the demons, all came into the light and stood ready to attack at Anastasia’s orders. And over 10,000 low-ranking demons flew into the sky. Some weren’t able to make it, but these numbers were more than enough.

"Kill everyone." She ordered the 500,000 demonic humans.

And the true bloodbath started.
