Chapter 100: Chapter 100 - Starfall Showdown Tournament Part 18
The crowd erupted into an earth-shattering roar as Zion landed the final blow, sending Nyx crashing to the ground. The arena shook with the deafening sound of cheering, whistles, and screams of disbelief.
The spectators were on their feet, unable to contain their excitement. The impossible had just happened: a human, a mere mortal, had toppled a dragon.
The air buzzed with the wild energy of a historic moment unfolding before their eyes. "Did you see that?!" one man shouted, his voice hoarse with awe. "A human just beat a dragon!" A wave of fervent disbelief washed over the crowd as people exchanged frantic glances, some still unsure if they had truly witnessed what they thought they had.
The excitement was palpable, with fans from all corners of the arena chanting Zion’s name, as if trying to etch the moment into history. "Zion! Zion! Zion!" The chants grew louder, shaking the very foundations of the arena. They couldn’t believe it. Zion had done the unthinkable, and the world would never forget it.
Don’t be mistaken, this isn’t the first time a Human or any other race had beaten a dragon, but it was the first time for the tournament where a human, who is on the same level as the dragon according to the global power scaling system, has beaten a dragon.
A master stage human is far weaker than a master stage dragon. Even a grandmaster human would lose against a master stage dragon. So this made Zion’s victory even sweeter.
"See! SEE! I told you! I fucking told you! I told you he would win! He’s just that good! That’s my son! Hahahaha! Mommy loves you, Zion!" Zaleena wasn’t going to let this moment pass and planned to hype and praise her son as much as she could.
"That’s what I’m talking about, nephew!" Raven shouted
"YEAHHHHHHH. THAT’S MY LITTLE BROTHER!" Hanna and Reina both stood up and shouted at the top of their lungs to praise their beloved little brother.
King Belwyn, King Zircon, King Bromir, Queen Melina, the other rulers, important figures, and especially King Drakoth were stunned by Zion’s performance.
It wasn’t the fact that Zion beat Nyx; it was how he beat Nyx. His body was engulfed in runes, he used body arts which only master Aura users were known to have, he used magic which should have been impossible given that he already uses aura, his body completely healed on its own, and to top it all off, his power, even without all of that, felt stronger than normal.
"How?" Drakoth asked. He turned to Zaleena and grabbed her shoulders. "How did he do it? How was he able to overcome the boundary set by the gods themselves?"
"That’s right! I can understand everything else he did, but magic and aura together? That’s impossible! Or it should be at least." Zircon chimed in, also in disbelief.
Everyone bombarded Zaleena and Raven with questions, but they didn’t answer a single one and simply smiled.
"If you want to know the answer to your questions, ask Zion himself. Though I’m not sure he would be willing to tell you." Zaleena chuckled.
Back on the completely destroyed arena, Zion jumped off, his body screaming with pain. While it may have looked as if he was fine, he used so much power that he could physically feel his muscles straining to keep up.
If it wasn’t for his perfect mana control, he theorized that his body would have exploded a long time ago.
"Fuck, it feels like I’ve ran a marathon. My legs are turning into jelly." Simply taking one step made him lose his balance. While his body was okay, he still felt the strain he put on it.
"ZION!!" Lidia, Aurora, Lacey, Beatrix, Zaleena, Raven, Hanna, and Reina all rushed him.
"Wait, wait, wait!" He tried putting out his arms to stop them, but it was too late. He and everyone else came crashing down on the ground as they bombarded his body.
"Ow."
"I’m so proud of you, son."
"You made not only a name for yourself, but also bolstered the academy’s reputation. Fufu, what a good time to be the headmistress."
"Good job, baby brother! I knew my beatings served a purpose."
"No, it was my experiments that made him win today."
"Young Master, I’m so happy for you!"
"Zion, babe, you look so sexy right now!"
"G-Good job, Zion. I was cheering for you."
"Haha! Young master Zion, that was an amazing battle! We should spar one day!"
Looking at all the women piled on Zion, Valindra felt some type of way. Anger, jealousy, rage? She didn’t know. But all she knew was that she didn’t like it.
"I can’t believe he was telling the truth." Syrune still couldn’t wrap her head around the five battles she watched.
"I know. Honestly, after he beat the Drakes, I was willing to accept him. Then he beat the wyverns, and I knew he was the real deal. Now he beat a dragon? I think I’m gonna lose my mind." Valindra pinched her cheek to see if she was dreaming or not.
Queen Melina approached her daughter, resting her hand on her shoulders as she too watched the woman pile on Zion.
"I have to admit that he is one incredible child. I’m even having second thoughts about your engagement." She admitted.
Valindra looked at her mom with a happy expression, not even knowing that she was showing her interest in Zion. "Seriously?" She asked.
"Mhmm. However, I won’t accept him even after everything he’s shown. He still has to prove himself and accept elven culture."
"That’s great! Isn’t that great, Syrune?!" She asked, holding her friend’s hands.
Syrune just blushed and didn’t say anything.
The beastmen were in shock after seeing what had just gone down. They no longer thought of the humans as weak and would respect them as warriors.
"I want to bear his children," Zyntril confessed.
"So do I." Jynbria agreed.
Some other people came to congratulate Zion, such as the important figures and royalty of the different kingdoms, his teammates, his friend Brian, Crystal and her siblings, and even the Queens of Zircon.
Most of them bombarded him with questions about his power, while others tried to get on his good side or even have him join their faction. But he brushed them all off.
"Give it up for Zion Zagan!" The king announced as he prepared to give out the medals.
"For the first time in history, another race has beaten the dragons in this tournament. Not only have you made history, but you’ve made a name for yourself and will be remembered forever."
The crowd cheered, going wild and praising Zion for his accomplishment.
"Because this is the first time something like this has happened, we decided to give you something better than just a gold medal for winning first place. I shall allow you to take one item from the royal treasury." King Zircon announced with a smug expression.
’He’s probably trying to win me over so I can reveal my secrets to him.’ Zion thought as he bowed to accept the honor that was given to him.
"And with that, ladies and gentlemen, the Starfall Showdown Tournament has come to a close!"
*BOOM*
