Chapter 211: Chapter 201: Big Brother, Dad’s Going to Hit Me (Second Update)

"Princess Katie!"

Tong Airui glanced amusingly at Emperor Haotian. This big brother of his was quite something! It seemed none of the younger siblings were on his side.

Emperor Haotian frowned slightly upon hearing these four words.

"Randy, we owe Du Ma nothing anymore," the woman in Emperor Haotian’s arms spoke softly. "Summon Katie back and hand Du Ma over to Captain Aldrich to deal with."

Emperor Haotian’s gaze flickered; he seemed to hesitate.

Tong Airui shot Yuan Hang a meaningful look. Yuan Hang understood, took out a letter, and handed it to Emperor Haotian. Emperor Haotian gently set his wife down, opened the letter, and after only reading two lines, crumpled it into a ball. "Someone, come here!"

Emperor Haotian called for his attendant and ordered, "Urgently summon Princess Katie to halt the troops. If she does not cease fire within five minutes, she will bear the consequences."

After issuing his orders, Emperor Haotian scooped up his wife and stepped off the warship.

Tong Airui watched Emperor Haotian’s upright back and laughed softly, "A single word from his consort outweighs my legions. Turns out he’s a lovesick fool too!"

"A match for Your Highness!" Yuan Hang interjected, only to earn a sharp glare from Tong Airui. Yuan Hang coughed lightly. "Your Highness, should we also cease fire during these five minutes?"

"Why stop firing? You want to give them a breather?" Tong Airui shot him a scornful look. "I realize you came out with me this time without your brain!"

"Left it at home," Yuan Hang quipped with a grin. "I’ll go give the order then: increase firepower during these five minutes. Hit them hard!"

"Go," Tong Airui narrowed his eyes slightly. He wanted the whole world to understand that anyone who dared harm his woman would only meet a dead end!

A call from Dapeng came in shortly. However, Dapeng, under Yi Luowa’s admonishment, spoke rather cautiously, avoiding the crux of the matter. Tong Airui’s guilt eased slightly as he instructed Dapeng, "Tell your sister-in-law to rest well. I’ll call her at dawn."

After speaking, Tong Airui entered the war room. He couldn’t personally rescue his wife, but he could avenge her with his own hands.

This night was destined to be sleepless.

On Emperor Haotian’s side, fighter jets roared, and artillery lit up the night.

Meanwhile, in the Bastu Tribe of the Summer Witchlands, the lights were brightly lit, and the whole family surrounded Yi Luowa, whose wounds had just been treated.

Yi Luowa looked at everyone apologetically. "I’m really fine now. Everyone, please go rest."

Tong Yao gazed at her with a heart full of sorrow. "Over ten abrasions on your body, your leg needing six or seven stitches, and you still have the nerve to say you’re fine. Look at you, child. If you’d just cry a little, it might make me feel better as your mother. But you endure it all like this, and it just... just breaks my heart."

Tong Yao’s voice choked with emotion, leaving her unable to finish speaking.

Yi Luowa sat up slightly and held her hand. "Mom, crying or not crying, the pain is the same. I’ll endure, and it’ll pass. Please don’t be upset like this; seeing you like this makes my heart ache."

"Mom won’t cry, I won’t cry," Tong Yao said, turning her head away. "Is Ni’er’s illness so serious? Yi Luowa is already hurt like this, and she doesn’t even come to check on her."

Long Che, upon hearing this, immediately understood. His wife felt distressed for her daughter-in-law but had nowhere to vent her frustration, so she aimed it at their own daughter. However, Ai Ni was indeed over the line this time. No matter how unwell she was, given the gravity of the situation, she should have at least made an appearance.

Yi Luowa froze. She thought, with so many people around, her mother-in-law might overlook Ai Ni. But to her surprise, she had specifically called out Ai Ni by name.

Tong Aino, seeing his mother genuinely angry, quickly offered, "I’ll go get her."

"Don’t," Yi Luowa sat upright. "Don’t disturb her. It was my decision not to let anyone go to her."

"Sister-in-law, wuwuwu..." Ai Ni burst in, crying, with You Jia trailing anxiously behind her.

Everyone in the room stared at You Jia, wide-eyed in astonishment—except for four informed ladies, who reacted differently.

When Long Che saw You Jia, his temper flared immediately. "Weren’t you supposed to return to Country S?"

As soon as he spoke, the room felt as if it had been coated in a layer of ice.

"That was the plan, but I received a last-minute order from my father to go to Country W. After dealing with business there, I decided to detour here to see everyone," You Jia recited his pre-prepared excuse.

Long Che scoffed in displeasure. "To see all of us? Or is it just to seduce my daughter? You Jia, I can’t believe you call yourself a Prince, stooping to such things!"

"Dad, don’t make it sound so awful." Ai Ni wiped her tears and hurried to Yi Luowa’s bedside. "Sister-in-law, it’s all my fault. To see You Jia, I concocted this stupid plan. If I hadn’t done that, nothing would’ve happened to you."

Yi Luowa desperately shook her head, but she couldn’t reach out to cover Ai Ni’s mouth. Right now, everyone was angry. How could Ai Ni be so foolish as to spill everything? This was just asking to get scolded!

"Ai Ni, have you completely lost your senses? Stop talking nonsense! I’m fine—look at me, really fine."

Ai Ni shook her head, full of guilt. "Sister-in-law, don’t cover for me anymore. It’s my fault, all my fault. Hearing about your injuries, I’ve been overwhelmed with guilt. From now on, I’ll never be so reckless again. Let me take your pain instead."

Tong Yao coldly watched her tearful daughter, so furious she nearly couldn’t breathe. So the real culprit was her own daughter, and yet she still had the gall to cry here.

"You—"

"You Jia!"

Tong Yao had just opened her mouth to scold her daughter when Long Che also spoke. His voice was even louder than hers.

"Uncle Che, I’m sorry. It’s all my fault," You Jia said, stepping forward to take the blame, hoping to shield Ai Ni from being berated.

Yi Luowa rubbed her forehead. Was this some kind of guilt confession competition? One by one, everyone wanted to admit fault.

"If you ask me, none of you are to blame—it’s that second prince Haotian’s fault," Yi Luowa said, cutting off her father-in-law and mother-in-law before they could speak. "Luckily, I’m fine. Everyone should just go rest, alright?"

Long Che spoke gravely, "Don’t stick up for You Jia. If he hadn’t come to Summer Witchlands, none of you would’ve come here, and you wouldn’t have gotten hurt!"

"Dad, if that’s the logic, then I share the blame. I conspired with Ai Ni and You Jia. Scold me too." Yi Luowa pouted slightly. "Dad, I’ve only been apart from Tong Airui for a few days, and I miss him terribly. Ai Ni and You Jia’s bond is even deeper than mine with Tong Airui’s. Their separation must’ve been even harder for them. You Jia detoured to see Ai Ni because he loves her deeply. As Ai Ni’s family, we should be happy for her, not scold them."

"But they shouldn’t have snuck away behind our backs!" Long Che turned to Tong Aino. "Did you know about this too?"

Tong Aino shook his head; he truly didn’t know!

"Fifth Brother didn’t know, but I did. I’m also an accomplice," Connie stepped forward, lowering her head as she moved to stand beside Ai Ni.

Jimo Shanshan hesitantly stepped forward as well. "Count me in too—I was involved. If there’s blame to go around, include me."

Qiqi was about to step forward, but Yi Luowa quickly added, "Dad, only the three of us knew about this. We didn’t tell anyone else because we didn’t want to alarm everyone. I haven’t been in this family for long, but I can see how everyone treats You Jia and Ai Ni—with constant vigilance! The way they’re strictly guarded makes me feel for them."

"Little girl, do you think just because you’re hurt and have gathered a sizable team, I won’t dare scold you all?" Long Che said gruffly. "Sick as you are, your mouth sure is sharp. I see you really aren’t in pain."

Yi Luowa laughed, extending her hand. "Dad, give me a light slap to vent your anger."

"Hitting you would hurt my hand. Tong Aino, go fetch me a ruler!"

Long Che didn’t really intend to hit her—just wanted to scare her a bit. Before Tong Aino could truly go find a ruler, Yi Luowa covered her face and started wailing, "Fourth Brother, Dad’s going to hit me! Come back and save me! Boohoohoo..."

Long Che was stunned. He hadn’t even hit her yet, and she was already crying. Wasn’t this girl supposed to be bold?

Tong Yao, seated at the bedside, saw everything clearly. This naughty girl wasn’t crying; she was fake wailing. In between, she even peeked at Long Che’s reaction through her fingers.

His wife’s expression immediately tipped Long Che off. Among all the kids in the family, not one had dared play this kind of trick in front of him—except this little girl. Watching her slightly spread fingers and the half-smile visible in her one exposed eye, Long Che couldn’t suppress a laugh.

"Alright, stop it. I wasn’t really going to hit you."

Yi Luowa instantly stopped crying but kept her hands up. "Then will you promise not to scold any of us? Including You Jia?"

Long Che chuckled. "I agreed not to hit you, and now you’re setting conditions?"

"Of course, I have to set conditions. Otherwise, this trick won’t work next time," Yi Luowa said with a playful smile as she lowered her hands.

This time, Long Che’s grin grew even wider. How could this kid be so endearing?

Qiqi noticed Long Che’s softened expression and stepped forward. "Dad, about this matter... I knew as well. The reason I kept it from you and Mom and helped Ai Ni is because I’ve been in this family the longest. I’ve witnessed all their ups and downs over the years.

When Lance and I were in love, everyone supported us and gave us enough space. Though Monica and Little Raindrop had it hard, it wasn’t as tough as what You Jia and Ai Ni have faced. From their teenage years to their twenties, they’ve had no privacy at all—not even a chance to share their deepest thoughts.

Dad, You Jia and Ai Ni are already adults. They know the boundaries and would never cross the line. I’m pleading on their behalf: give them some freedom, even just a little. With that freedom, Ai Ni wouldn’t need to act out like she did today."

Long Che frowned slightly. Even the daughter-in-law he usually intimidated was pleading for his daughter. Could it be that he’d been too strict? Thinking back to his own courtship with his wife, he realized perhaps he had indeed gone too far.

"Dad~~ Please?" Yi Luowa sat on the bed, clasping her hands together, looking at Long Che with puppy eyes.
