Chapter 472: 0472 My theory was stolen_1

Today’s first date with Ruffy Smith was rather pleasant.

It was already half-past midnight when he dropped Ellen Young off at her home.

Ruffy Smith didn’t stay long, although he wanted to. Unfortunately, Ellen Young didn’t give him any hints to suggest she wanted him to stick around.

This couldn’t help but be a bit disappointing.

Blackie was still awake, and as Ellen Young touched her stomach, she suddenly felt a bit hungry.

Maybe it was because she had been active for too long?

But she hadn’t really exercised, so she shouldn’t be hungry.

The spacious living room felt a tad lonely, so she walked over and opened the refrigerator, which was stuffed full of items. After thinking it over, Ellen decided to make herself a bowl of noodles.

Just as she took out the ingredients, her cellphone began to vibrate intensely.

Lonely Genius: [!!!!Hey are you there!!]

Lonely Genius: [Something big happened!!!!]

Lonely Genius: [Such a shameless thief, absolutely despicable, he definitely stole our theory[link][link][link]]

Ellen Young thought the cheerful vibration of her phone might mean Ruffy Smith had messaged her right after he got downstairs, but it turned out to be a message from an Internet friend.

They had already planned to meet in a few days, and now Lonely Genius seemed to have stumbled upon something outrageous, his anger palpable through the phone.

Ellen Young took a look and realized why Lonely Genius was so furious after clicking on the link he had sent her.

It was a lecture published in a domestic authoritative computer science journal, authored by a genius student from Andalu University.

This in itself was not a problem, considering the author’s credentials were quite impressive to the common folk, with three internationally awarded theses at a young age and being an outstanding talent in computer science.

His lecture was an on-campus event, but the problem was that several themes in the lecture were all too familiar to Ellen Young.

They were topics about AI that she and Lonely Genius had discussed on the forum.

Most of the content was actually based on theories proposed by contemporary scientists, nothing truly original, but some ideas and models were formulated using advanced mathematics that Ellen incorporated. Although not exceedingly difficult, the approach was quite intricate and not something that would easily come to mind for most people, making it rather unconventional.

Indeed, since Ellen Young had come up with these herself, she was certain she had never seen any related reports in her memory, which meant they were her original creations, even if she had posted them on a forum.

This person’s lecture seemed to scatter the discussions she had with Lonely Genius, but the core themes remained the same, using a very small part verbatim.

Taken directly without acknowledgment.

Taking it was not really an issue, a simple mention of it being a reprint would have sufficed, but this person claimed during the lecture that they were his own ideas.

Because the concept was innovative enough, the professor from Andalu University praised him by name after the lecture, and even professors from Hadton in the related field acknowledged that the lecture was indeed impressive.

Only a small part of it was the topic Ellen Young and Lonely Genius had discussed, which had been somewhat dispersed, so even others who had seen the forum where Ellen Young and Lonely Genius discussed it might not recognize it. However, Lonely Genius was an outstanding talent in the field, so he must have come across it by chance. Having discussed it so thoroughly with Ellen for many days, the topic was deeply ingrained in his mind, and so he immediately spotted the issue.

No wonder he was so angry.

Ellen Young was not one to be aggressively confrontational, but she certainly wouldn’t stand idly by while someone claimed her hard work as their own idea.
