Ruffy Smith refused promptly, "I’m very busy at the moment."

As soon as he heard this, Taylor Smith knew it was highly likely Ruffy Smith was bullshitting, and he immediately let out a sarcastic chuckle, "Oh, is that so? Really busy."

Ruffy Smith, impatient to talk further, simply said, "I have things to do, hanging up now."

After hanging up the phone, Ellen Young finally spoke softly, "Were you talking to your dad?"

Ruffy Smith’s expression was composed, "Yeah."

As if those shameless words he had just uttered had not come from him at all.

Ellen Young peeked at him, seemingly wanted to ask something, but ultimately it seemed too difficult to say it out loud.

All she could do was gaze deeply at Ruffy Smith before turning back to her own business.

She indeed couldn’t hear what Taylor Smith was saying, but she could deduce from Ruffy Smith’s words that their conversation likely revolved around her.
