Chapter 384: 0384 is probably _1
Once you understand Ruffy Smith’s shamelessness, you can roughly figure out what they were talking about.
Why was he so confident?
Ruffy had always been hanging around her, but he wasn’t particularly annoying.
Over those few short months, they hadn’t met many times; most of the time, they were just in one place. He knew his limits and never came to bother her too much.
He had said he liked her before.
At the time, Ellen had rejected him outright.
She didn’t like Ruffy, but she didn’t exactly dislike him either.
What had been bothering her recently was that dream.
The content of the dream was bizarre, and the key was that she had never thought she would have such a dream.
Could it be like what Clinton White said, that sometimes when you’re alone for too long, you start to have certain other thoughts?
She had never been in love, and she hadn’t been exposed to any couple flaunting their affection around her. She had always been alone, so she didn’t quite understand the meaning and start of certain things, only instinctively feeling that the dream indeed caused her trouble.
Now that the troublemaker was right beside her, she felt a bit confused.
She had never given careful thought to marriage, but nor was she completely resistant to it.
She just didn’t have any concept of her future other half.
It was like when Clinton White and Zoe Lewis got married, Clinton had also mentioned it.
She didn’t understand and just felt that marriage was not a major part of her plans.
While her thoughts were occupied with this issue, her actions didn’t lag. She was capable of multitasking and sometimes, even when she spaced out, no one could tell. Both of them were busy with their own things and not talking.
Around 11:30, Clinton White and Zoe Lewis arrived.
Clinton had the passcode, so he could come straight up.
After he and Zoe got out of the elevator and turned around, they saw Ruffy Smith, who had finished his tasks and was lazily sitting on the sofa, gaming.
Once Clinton saw Ruffy, and then saw Ellen still busy in the kitchen, he immediately contracted the urge to not let Ruffy off the hook without a good tease.
"Smith, are you even human? My BOSS is working hard over there, and you’re just sitting here playing games. What, it’s your birthday and you get to be served by others? It’s one thing for others to do it, but to actually have my BOSS cook for you, how much face do you have?!"
Clinton had always been somewhat begrudging towards Ruffy, especially knowing that this man wanted to pursue his BOSS. Looking at him from any angle, Clinton found him unappealing.
The thickness of Ruffy’s skin could hardly be demolished by those remarks. He lifted his eyes slightly, glanced at Clinton and Zoe, his gesture seemingly condescending, as his voice was particularly indifferent, "My face is this big, can’t you see?"
Clinton: "..."
Shameless creature!
Zoe, on the other hand, was particularly self-aware and didn’t bother with the two men starting to bicker. She walked over to the kitchen area and, smelling the fragrance that had begun to waft through, couldn’t help but swallow her saliva, "Ah, Ellen, the food you cook really smells amazing. I can never achieve this flavor."
Clinton loudly added, "Of course, you don’t need to look at the IQ difference."
"I kill—"
Zoe’s face contorted with rage for a moment, but realizing Ellen was there, she quickly restrained herself, adopting a weak demeanor and smiling through gritted teeth, "Ellen, tell me, isn’t Clinton, who has all the IQ but can’t do anything, what you call a life idiot?"
Ellen glanced at Clinton, "Not sure, but probably."
Clinton: "..."
