Chapter 369: 0369 What dream did you have?_1

Ruffy Smith would absolutely never doubt his own charm or appearance.

Growing up, even if he didn’t understand, the way others treated him spoke volumes.

His face was his best weapon.

No one could remain indifferent to his face; Ellen Young might manage for the time being, but sooner or later, she ought to show some reaction.

However, she truly had a heart of stone.

For a moment, he wasn’t sure whether to feel lost or to find the resolve to fight on, his emotions were a complex mix.

Looking at the person before him, there was a fleeting moment when he really wanted to pinch her delicate neck, wondering if it might awaken her senses.

If she really was never moved, and chose to live a life of indifferent solitude—well, he would be impressed.

His eyes held a complex look, and unsure how to express what else he wanted to say, he heard Ellen say, "Then take care of your business. You’re twenty-eight already; your dad is probably getting anxious."

After all, the Smith Family had only him as a son; they had plenty of money, and Taylor Smith had no need to cling to power.

Without any competition, he naturally hoped his son would be capable of taking over everything about the Smith Family sooner rather than later.

But Ruffy misconstrued the meaning.

His dad is probably getting anxious?

Yes, anxious about the matter of grandchildren.

After all, what does it signify for a man nearing thirty to not be married yet?

Especially in a family like his.

Heirship was of utmost importance; it was not to be allowed for the family fortune to fall into the hands of outsiders a century later.

Ruffy was provoked to laughter: "You’re worried about this for him?"

Ellen was silent for a moment before responding, "I’m not worried."

It was just a casual remark she had made: "Doesn’t your dad want you to come back home?"

"I’m going back for a different matter."

He paused for a minute, and finally let out a sigh: "Nevermind, you take care of yourself here; it’s getting cold recently, don’t catch a cold."

Ellen nodded her head, her voice was however, flat: "You too."

Ruffy had come over just to give a simple update, his leaving meant he was about to go immediately.

Before long, Ellen saw another luxury car enter the village and pick up Ruffy.

She wasn’t interested in whatever Ruffy had to go home to deal with; it was just that occasionally, she would remember the dream.

Having too good of a memory sometimes really wasn’t a good thing, because the moment she thought of this person, she would associate him with recent events.

Undoubtedly, her most vivid recent impression of Ruffy was this dream.

Even though she was not clear why, she could determine that the person in the dream was Ruffy.

And it was very hard for her to understand, if it was that one’s daydreams resulted in night dreams, that would be one thing, but she’d never had any inappropriate thoughts about Ruffy, yet she had such a dream.

There wasn’t really anyone reliable around her she could talk to at length, the only one was Clinton White.

Ellen didn’t like to hold things in and let them pass; so she made a call to Clinton.

At this time, Clinton was handling official business while watching Ellen’s live broadcast replay. When he suddenly saw Ellen calling, he thought there might be something important, but when he answered the phone, he heard a cold sentence from the other side, "Under what circumstances does one dream about someone they don’t usually interact much with?"

"A dream?"

This touched upon Clinton’s area of ignorance, and he paused before saying, "It’s not really anything, it’s normal to dream about others, even strangers you’ve never met can appear. Different cues from the cerebral cortex, some are just irrelevant. Boss, what kind of dream did you have?"
