Chapter 367: 0367 Roujiamo_1
Ellen Young was still on a live broadcast, so she couldn’t show any emotion.
Moreover, the best way to get rid of irritation was to distract herself.
She was an expert in this regard, able to multitask with ease, but she still reined in her thoughts and threw herself into her work.
Recently, she had started to cram information about AI and, being a standout in the field of computer science, she picked it up quite fast.
She spent the whole afternoon in the courtyard, working on data segmentation and calculations.
To avoid revealing anything that shouldn’t be shown, the live broadcast wisely did not focus on the items in her hands, keeping most of the camera on Lucy Wood and Melissa Chan.
Now that Melissa had arrived, naturally, the camera gave her more attention.
Melissa was the cheerful and lively type, getting along very well with Lucy.
They even went to the hill behind the village to pick some wild fruit.
On her way back, she saw Ruffy Smith, but the jerk had hurt her feelings the day before, so even now, seeing him not bothering to greet her, she felt a moment of gloom before quickly pulling herself together, realizing that participating in the program was more important.
By the time she returned to the courtyard, Ellen was still busy.
But there was now an adorable little girl at the wicker gate, wearing a cute, floral jacket, her hair in two pigtails, looking just like the Fuwa dolls on the door curtains.
She was extremely cute.
Melissa was a bit surprised at the time: "Where did this kid come from?"
The child wasn’t surprised to see them, simply lifting up her basket and calling out softly from the doorway: "Sister Ellen."
Ellen looked up and out the door, seeing it was Lily there.
She got up and asked, "What brings you here?"
Lily struggled to lift the basket, which contained several meat-filled buns, carefully packed in food boxes: "Mrs. Zach made them, for you."
Her voice was sweet as she meant to bring them for Ellen to try.
Ellen didn’t refuse, taking them with a smile, but obviously not going to eat them right away, she smiled: "Thank you."
Lily saw her accept it and smiled as well.
She smiled sweetly, the feigned stubbornness she’d had when she first came gone, probably because she had a really good time these past few days in the village.
Mrs. Zach took good care of her, she was obedient, and everyone in the village accepted her.
She was also very sensible and did not disturb Ellen just because they had a bit of a connection.
This was probably the third time Ellen had seen her.
Lily knew what program the person in front of her was on; she couldn’t appear on camera, so after handing over the basket, she left.
When Melissa and Lucy entered the courtyard and asked, "Whose kid is that? She’s quite cute."
Ellen replied, "It’s a local child, she brought us some food."
Despite what she said, she did not immediately share the meat-filled buns with Lucy and Melissa but turned and entered her house.
About a few minutes later, she came out to the kitchen and divided the meat-filled buns from the basket between Lucy and Melissa.
She had gone in to check them.
Just in case.
It wasn’t that she wanted to be careful, but she had to be, even in a seemingly uneventful village.
If it weren’t for the live broadcast, it would have been Damien Frost’s job to check them.
Lucy and Melissa naturally couldn’t think of all that, and now that Ellen dared to share with them, there naturally was nothing wrong.
Being hungry all afternoon, now enjoying the delicious meat-filled buns, both felt happy and content.
