Chapter 83: Desperate Call

Everyone watches around, checking if the octopus tentacles will come back.

"Did it run away?" Lee asks after landing again.

"No. I can feel it. It’s still around." Claud says heavy breathing.

"I hate to say that, but you’re amazing. You could hold that thing and scare it away."

"I don’t think it’s over."

Galion and Cyprian shift back and land on the deck too. Zin comes back too.

"Thank you for coming.. Sorry we couldn’t make it by ourselves." Galion says to Claud.

Astri’s other spouses never saw Claud using his powers and now they can see how powerful he is. He could hold a creature that was fighting against two dragons.

"Who is with Astri?" Wayde asks after shifting back.

"Beau. I asked him.."

They feel their bodies shaking strongly from under, then they see the tentacles coming again. From nowhere a tentacle grabs Lee, and the others fight to free him.

Astri was calming her children when she felt Lee’s mark burning.

"Lee.." She says worried.

After some moments she feels Cyprian’s mark burning too.

"Cyprian.."

Her heart is almost exploding with fear. Nature is motivating her to go. She looks at Beau.

"Beau, please. Take care of my cubs." She says.

"What?" He asks.

She gives him Yuki.

"I need to help. They will die. Nature is telling me to go too. Stay here and keep them protected, please. They’re my everything." She holds Beau’s face to make him look at her eyes.

His voice got locked for a second and she flew away to the door, and then she ran to the deck.

’Astri?! Go back inside!!’ Wayde screams.

Claud was holding the Kraken and he was shocked when he saw Astri too. Her eyes shine and she feels where Cyprian and Lee are, then raises her hands to move the water and make the Kraken release them.

Cyprian takes Lee and brings him outside the water and Astri gives a relieved sigh to see them and her spousal marks stopped burning.

Wayde pushes her with his tiger head to go back inside, but a tentacle hits on him and then grabs her.

"ASTRI!!"

Claud shines almost entirely holding the Kraken. Lee, Cyprian, and Galion are trying to take her from the tentacle. The Kraken fights Claud’s hold and finally can move one tentacle to push him away, then push her other spouses too.

Losing his concentration when he fell, the Kraken dives into the ocean and brings Astri with it. The mermen, Aquaterrans, Cyprian, Galion, and Zin follow the Kraken inside the water to get Astri back.

Her spouses are in panic feeling their marks burning. Astri tries to move, not capable of breathing and she remembers her dream. That’s when she realizes that Nature is not helping her like always. She also feels that the Kraken is not holding her to hurting her, even being that huge and she being so little.

She looks at the Kraken and then decides to read its mind.

"Help. I just want your help. I can feel you can help me. Please." Astri hears the voice of a male boy.

"I’ll help you. I’m sorry I didn’t understand you before." Astri says to the Kraken.

"Can you hear me now?! Please, help me. There’s something stuck and hurting me."

"All right. But you need to let me go and breathe. I’ll die without breathing."

"Oh really?"

The Kraken stops and puts her outside the water. She gasps for air and coughs.

"I’m sorry! I didn’t know you couldn’t breathe underwater. Argh!! Make them stop!!" The Kraken says.

The others started to attack the Kraken again.

"Stop! All of you! Stop attacking!" She says in everyone’s minds.

"Astri!! What do you mean?" Claud asks in her mind.

"Read his mind. It’s just a boy. He was the one in my dreams. He’s just asking for help."

Claud reads the Kraken’s mind and it’s true. That huge creature actually has an eternal boy’s lonely mind.

"She’s right. He doesn’t want to kill her." Claud says to everyone, breathing relieved.

"Then tell him to bring you back." Koa speaks floating next to the tentacle that is holding Astri outside.

"What is your name, dear?" Astri asks the Kraken.

"Name? What is a name?"

"My name is Astri. You can call me Astri. How should I call you?"

"The way you wish to call me." The Kraken answers and Astri can’t hold a smile with his cute voice.

"All right. I’ll call you Biggie. Can you bring me back to my boat? I can help you there too. My friends are only fearing that you will kill me, so let’s show them you’re good." She says like she was talking to a kid.

"All right.."

Biggie swims back to the ship and puts Astri on the deck again. Her spouses run to her trying to hug her all at the same time.

They look at the giant head watching from the water and they still fear that enormous thing. It’s hard to imagine that it is peaceful after what they saw that it is capable of doing.

"Biggie is asking for help. He says that there’s something stuck and it hurts him." Astri tells the others.

"His name is Biggie?" Lee asks.

"Actually he didn’t have a name and he asked me to choose his name. Biggie matches him, right?" She says.

"Right..." They answer in unison.

"Can you tell where it hurts, Biggie?" Astri asks.

"My mouth. There’s something stuck in it and it hurts so much that I can’t eat." Biggie answers.

"He said he has something stuck in his mouth and it hurts not letting him eat. Someone needs to go check and try to remove it."

Everyone fell silent. No one wants to get into that thing’s huge mouth. If he wants he can only eat them whole.

"Come on! Let’s help him." Astri says.

"I don’t want to go into his mouth. What if he eats me?" Zin speaks.

Astri looks around and everyone is quiet. She clicks her tongue looking to the sky.

"Dress something, guys. I’ll check his mouth." She says.

"No f*k*ng way you will do this. I’m sorry, Nature. But no!" Lee speaks holding Astri.

"It’s a peaceful creature, guys. Nature trusts it and we should too." Astri affirms.

"Did you see his size? If he sneezes he will swallow us." Shan speaks.

"If you won’t help, I’ll do it myself. Don’t make me freeze here just because you’re all scared." She says hugging herself and walking to the deck border.

All of them hold her.

"I can go. Will you tell me what he’s saying?" Koa says to Astri.

"Of course. Thank you, Koa. Don’t worry. He’s scary but he’s just a boy deep inside." Astri speaks, focusing her eyes on his face, she’s getting anxious seeing so many naked males around her.

Koa nods and jumps in the water.

"Biggie, my friend Koa is going to check your mouth. Please, stay still and tell me when he touches where it hurts, all right? Don’t move or you might eat him." Astri speaks.

"All right.. Thank you. But will it hurt too much?" Biggie says.

"Aw. We will try to make it quick. Stay focused and it will end fast."

Koa swims under Biggie, who opens his enormous mouth, showing many pointy teeth. He takes a deep breath and looks around to finally see a big wooden pillar stuck right in the middle of his throat.

"Do you want me to ask him something?" Astri asks Koa.

"I think I’ll need help. It’s a big wooden pillar. I think it’s a part of a boat. It’s stuck in the middle of his throat. I can’t pull it outside on my own." Koa answers.

"All right. Let’s tie it with ropes and pull it out."

The water beastmen work together to try to tie the pillar and then bring it to the dragons to pull. They chose between themselves who was the oldest one to go inside Biggie’s mouth to tie the ropes, so Koa was again facing death.

The Kraken screams in pain but with a thud, the pillar is pulled out. Biggie takes a deep relieved sigh.

"Thank you so much, big sister! I thought I would die hungry. Now I can eat." Biggie says hugging Astri with his tentacle.

Everyone panicked again, but they heard Astri giggling and then patting the tentacle.

"You’re welcome, sweetheart." She says.

"Oh.. He’s thanking.." Lee softly says.

"Beau, you can come up. The danger is over." She says in Beau’s head.

Beau was so worried and waiting for someone to come. He carries Yuki and asks the boys to follow him. The boys followed him closely and were still a bit scared. When Beau arrives at the deck with the children he’s shocked to see Astri in the tentacles of the Kraken.

Astri explained to him what happened and he’s actually impressed that the terror of the seas, which legend says is impossible to survive from, actually has the mind of a little boy.

"Big sister, I’ll go hunt. Do you want some?" Biggie asks Astri.

"No, dear. You can go and be free again. Be careful. How did you get that pillar in your mouth?" Astri says.

"A group of this thing that you stay inside attacked me. They didn’t have good energies like you have. They attacked me with many creatures. I ate some of these things you’re on." Biggie explains.

Astri looks at Claud, who also hears Biggie’s explanation.

"Monsters.. They were trying to corrupt him." Claud says after reading Biggie’s memories.

"I’m glad they didn’t take you, dear. Be more careful now forward. You know what energies they have. When you feel it again, stay away, all right?" Astri says to Biggie.

"All right. I won’t let them take me. I’ll be always around, sister. I like the deep waters, but I’ll be here if you call me. Be careful. The Big Shark is with them."

Claud and Astri saw his memories. Astri saw a megalodon, completely corrupted by evil energies. They were extinct in the other world but in this world, they still exist.

"Thank you, Biggie. We will be careful." Astri says.

Biggie lets Astri go and then he dives into the ocean and goes away to finally eat after months of wait.
