Chapter 84: Little Setbacks

Astri went to have a warm bath with Yuki, while the others went clean and organized the mess.

"If that thing were a monster wanting to kill us it would have accomplished easily. What other kinds of those things are there?" Cyprian speaks.

"Biggie said that he was attacked by monsters and that a Big Shark was on the side of Monsters. When I saw in his memories, this shark is gigantic too, not as much as Biggie, but I think he’s bigger than this ship. Biggie told us to be careful with it." Claud says cleaning the kitchen.

"A shark that big?? What are we doing here again?" Lee whines.

"Sharks are easier to deal with compared to a Kraken. Megalodons are dangerous and rare, but easier to deal with." Beau answers.

"It’s true. We faced the strongest creature of the ocean today." Koa says.

"Biggie said he will be always around and if Astri needs she can call him." Claud speaks.

"That’s good. We can rest assured then. Biggie has endurance, strength and size to protect us against more dangerous creatures." Wayde says gathering broken plates.

"Did the Kraken know about Astri?" Beau asks.

"The Kraken is a creature that is not a beastman, but also not a soulless creature that only thinks about survival and procreation. He has the eternal personality of a boy and has a pure heart deep inside. He must have felt her presence and followed her. Just being who she is already calls the attention of anyone who can feel energies. Evil and good creatures and beastmen will come after her." Claud explains.

Hearing that they know they need to pay more attention now forward.

Hawa and Ferd come walking inside with worried faces.

"The propeller is broken, there’s a crack under the ship and it’s getting water inside slowly. We can fix the crack, but the propeller is entirely broken. Also, the freshwater pot cracked and the water is dirty. Luckily the plantation is fine. It stopped snowing, how they will get fresh water to drink?" Hawa reports.

Everyone sighs at the destruction Biggie left behind.

"Fix the crack under the boat and we will find a way to fix the propeller later." Beau speaks and then looks at Claud and the others. "You need to try to find a way to fix the freshwater pot."

They nod and go back to fixing and cleaning everything. After bathing and going back to their bedroom, they find Astri deep asleep with the cubs. They smile happily and relieved to see her sleeping and resting finally. Zin stays to watch them and the others go outside.

Claud and Wayde start to cook dinner while the others keep on working on fixing the ship.

Zin spoons her, hugging her near him, trying to fade away the great fear he had when his mark burned announcing that her life was being threatened.

He hates that they’re far from home and where he can’t control anything. All of Astri’s spouses felt how much they were nothing in front of some creatures in the ocean.

Astri moves and hugs him, resting her face on the crook of his neck. He smiles hugging her close, feeling her warmth, and decides to take a nap with her.

At the end of the afternoon, Astri wakes up to have dinner with everyone and it’s when she learns about the problems the ship has after Biggie’s appearance.

"If we could go to my tribe. It’s around 7 days from here. We can help to fix everything that is broken." Koa says.

"We can pull your ship with the other until Leader Koa’a tribe. It might take longer than 7 days to arrive, but it’s one solution." Ryan gives the idea.

"We will need to boil the seawater tomorrow to have fresh water. It will take us two days for us to fill the tank again." Wayde tells.

"Is the stock of food and the vegetable garden good?" Astri asks.

"Yes." Wayde answers.

"Then we’re fine. The solutions are simple." She smiles.

"You’re so positive." Beau says.

"Why not? At least we have solutions. I can help tomorrow with the water supply." She answers.

Everyone is curious about what she will do but don’t ask anything.

"So the nightmares were actually Nature telling you about Biggie?" Claud asks Astri.

"Yes."

"Why not tell us directly so we could have been more prepared?" Lee asks, annoyed.

"I don’t think that anyone here would believe that a Kraken would be friendly. And if Nature had told me and I had told you about Biggie you would be more against me coming here. Nature stopped with the dreams for a long time and started again when Biggie was closer." She tells and keeps eating.

Their silence shows the truth. She yawns after finishing eating, then excuses herself to go to sleep. Koa is happy to know that the Goddess of Nature will be visiting his tribe, it will be a great honor to his people.

"I can’t wait to feel earth under my feet." Wayde speaks.

"I want privacy with my spouse. That’s what I want." Lee speaks going to wash his dishes and Astri’s.

"Yeah. I won’t lie. It’s hard here." Claud agrees thinking of how hard it was in the storage room the last time.

The room is smaller when they want some private time they need to bring the cubs outside and there’s no other place to stay making Astri feels bad leaving her children outside. So none of them are having entire nights with her. They’re only letting off some steam.

"At least you have a spouse. A great and beautiful one. So I wouldn’t complain if I were you." Shan says.

"We’re not. We were just used to a lifestyle and here is very different. We only miss those times." Wayde speaks.

Lee sneaked away and Wayde ran after him.

"No way! Let her sleep, horny bird." Wayde holds Lee who whines like a boy.

The next morning, Astri is feeling very well and rested. She goes to check everything, but besides the propeller, everything is fixed already. She looks at the empty fresh water tank and feels bad that her spouses will have to spend days boiling water to fill it up.

She waits for Beau and the others to tie their ship to the other.

"Where’s the direction of your tribe, Koa?" Astri asks.

"That way." Koa answers pointing to South.

"South it is."

"South?"

"I’ll explain later. Careful with kids, loves." She says, then removes her long blouse, staying only with a skin tube top and a silk skirt.

That was the first time the Aquaterrans and Mermen saw her body without winter clothes and they stared at her. She opened her wings and flew up to the sky, her eyes started to shine like the universe was in her eyes again.

They see that the sky starts to go darker, clouds start to gather and then it starts to rain. The strong wind is helping them see her beast mark on her back. Who had never seen her beast mark got impressed with such a big mark, and there they could confirm she only has 5 spouses.

The rain gets a bit stronger and then she moves her arms in the direction of Koa’s tribe. They feel the wind changing directions instantly. She lands on the deck again.

"It will stop raining when the water tank is full again. I changed the wind’s direction to Koa’s tribe. Take the chance to travel faster." She says.

Everyone nods, amazed. Beau and Koa blush when she taps on their shoulders as she walks next to them. She goes inside again and her spouses tailing her proudly, but also with lustful eyes.

"Oh my... She’s amazing. She made it rain but my insides are all hot! How could they be her spouses? I want to be her spouse too!" Shan speaks.

"Shut up. You’re not worthy of her. You act this way towards any good-looking female." Hawa says.

"And you think you’re worthy?" Shan angrily retorts.

"I’m not. Forget her."

"Aw.. Can you imagine that little white body.."

"Shan! Stop that. You sound like a pervert and you’re disrespecting her. If you’re not mature enough to understand that I’ll have to order you to shut up or else you will have your rank down." Beau booms.

Shan holds his tongue and nods apologizing. Beau sighs and walks away to start to work.

Beau and Fern direct the ships to the South Mermen Tribe. Because of the wind change, the water currents changed too and the ships traveled faster. Koa swims guarding the ships but his mind is on Astri.

"Stard, go in the front and let them know that I’m arriving and bringing a special guest." Koa says to another mermen.

"Yes, sir." He answers and swims faster.

Koa wants to give Astri a good impression of his tribe, hoping she will be proud when he sees the tribe he works hard to sustain.
