Chapter 3: The Evil Cute Rabbit

The Cheerleader's Soul completely overturned Chen Guan's understanding of innate talents. The Ultimate Secret-grade quality was something he had never even heard of before. If its existence became known to outsiders, it would inevitably provoke jealousy from narrow-minded individuals, posing serious risks to both himself and his loved ones.

The Evil Cute Rabbit's cleaver strikes were swift and vicious, its black butcher knife flashing like lightning. Yet Guardian Dog constantly circled behind it, preventing the rabbit from unleashing its full ferocity.

"Guardian Dog is strong... Guardian Dog is amazing... The world's number one guardian belongs to you..." Chen Guan cheered from the sidelines, but found his encouragement had limited effect. Apparently, the Cheerleader's Soul's power didn't rely on word count or volume, nor did it provide external enhancements—it stimulated the target's latent potential instead.

Dizzy from constant circling, the not-too-bright Evil Cute Rabbit let its guard down momentarily. Seizing the opportunity, Guardian Dog bit down on its paw.

In pain, the rabbit instinctively released its grip on the butcher knife while swiping at Guardian Dog's neck with its other paw.

Guardian Dog, now incredibly alert and reacting with superhuman speed—as if in some enhanced state—immediately released its bite and dropped to the ground, dodging the attack while simultaneously batting the knife's handle with its paw, sending the weapon flying.

The knife spun toward Chen Guan's position. Seeing the whirling blade approach, Chen Guan hastily dodged. Given his strength and reflexes, catching the handle cleanly was unlikely, and getting cut would be disastrous.

The butcher knife flew past Chen Guan and struck a thigh-thick bone, cleaving it cleanly in two before losing momentum and falling into the bone pile with the severed fragments.

Chen Guan thought in shock: "That butcher knife is terrifyingly sharp! Thank goodness it didn't hit Guardian Dog earlier—one slash could have bisected it instantly, leaving no chance to use the Cheerleader's Soul."

Taking three steps in two, Chen Guan rushed to the knife, grabbed its handle, and lifted it—immediately feeling its surprising weight.

Though short, the knife was extremely heavy. While Chen Guan could lift it, he couldn't wield it with the rabbit's effortless ease.

The Evil Cute Rabbit tried charging to reclaim its weapon, but as it turned, Guardian Dog attacked from behind, biting off its snowball-like tail in one chomp. Blood gushed instantly.

With a strange shriek, the rabbit whirled to grab Guardian Dog, but the clever canine had already retreated with the severed tail to the opposite side.

Frenzied, the rabbit chased Guardian Dog but got constantly outmaneuvered, its limited intellect no match for the dog's tactics.

CRACK!

When the rabbit reached peak frenzy, the butcher knife came slicing from behind, cutting diagonally into its neck. Even the razor-sharp blade only penetrated halfway before getting stuck in the tough flesh.

Chen Guan, having successfully ambushed with both hands on the hilt and feet planted on the rabbit's back, tried pulling the knife free—but it wouldn't budge.

Seeing the rabbit's body freeze and its head slowly turn, eyes glowing with bloody light that nearly materialized into black flames, Chen Guan abandoned the knife and fled.

The rabbit yanked the knife free with one paw, then propelled itself dozens of meters with a powerful hindleg kick, intercepting Chen Guan's escape. Its eyes burned with fiery rage.

Without hesitation, the rabbit slashed downward at Chen Guan's head—faster than before its injury—the black blade arcing like lightning toward his skull.

Chen Guan saw it coming but couldn't react. His mind screamed to flee, yet his body remained frozen.

As the blade neared his scalp, a red blur intercepted from the side—Guardian Dog lunging with desperate determination, biting the rabbit's knife-wielding wrist and altering the strike's trajectory.

The icy blade grazed past Chen Guan's arm, shearing off his sleeve and countless arm hairs.

Chen Guan's soul nearly left his body as he turned and ran.

Though bitten even more painfully this time, the rabbit didn't release its grip. Shaking off Guardian Dog, it continued pursuing Chen Guan with the knife.

Scrambling through bone piles in desperate evasion, Chen Guan watched as the rabbit's butcher knife cleaved through skeletal obstacles like an axe—even pillar-thick bones severed cleanly.

Without Guardian Dog's constant harassment slowing the rabbit, Chen Guan would have been bisected already.

Soon, however, the rabbit's movements grew sluggish. Blood gushed like a fountain from its neck wound during the fierce combat, and excessive blood loss left it swaying unsteadily.

THUD!

The Evil Cute Rabbit collapsed into the bone pile. With its dying breath, it hurled the butcher knife straight at Chen Guan.

A black flash—Chen Guan had no time to react as the blade whizzed past his head.

Standing rigidly, face drained of color and drenched in cold sweat, Chen Guan felt his soul nearly depart his body.

Lying defeated, the rabbit's blood-red eyes—now wide as car headlights—stared fixedly in death, filled with bitter resentment at having missed its final strike.

Unable to confirm the rabbit's demise and too afraid to approach, Chen Guan suddenly saw red-and-white particles rising from its corpse.

Like swarms of fireflies, the particles rushed toward Chen Guan at incredible speed, phasing ghostlike through his body to merge within him.
