Chapter 773: The Little Fairy
Yarin's POV:
The little fairy's name was 'Thirussis' born within a primrose flower. Originally, it was
sleeping somewhere in the forest, but it found itself here when it opened its eyes, so it had no idea what had happened.
"I can sense that my flower isn't far from here," Thirussis said. "Kind lady, could you tell me where the nearest forest is? My flower should be there."
"Of course, my home is by the shore of a lake, surrounded by a large expanse of dense forest. I think that's where your home is."
Lady Charlies got up willingly, and I held the little fairy while the others followed her to send it back home.
On the way, I curiously asked, "Since your flower is a primrose, why were you sleeping in a lotus flower?"
Thirussis answered in a soft voice, "In winter, my flower withers, and it only blooms again in spring. I don't like the dullness of winter, so I choose to sleep in a flower. Usually, I'd change to a different one after a few days, but the temperature in the greenhouse was just too comfortable, and I overslept..."
Ah, it was so adorable.
The lake next to the Charlies' estate was called 'Pearl Lake', not the 'Mirror Lake' of the 'Countess of the Mirror Lake'. That belonged to Aunt Jordin's family back in her hometown.
Pearl Lake got its name from the smooth, white pebbles at the bottom of the lake, resembling pearls. It was surrounded on three sides by a small forest area. It had never been subjected to industrial pollution, thus the natural conditions were excellent. It was easy to understand why even the fairies favored this place.
We searched for a while and finally found a group of primrose seedlings sprouting in an open field. Thirussis happily flew into them and rolled around, contentedly saying, "The natural elements here are really concentrated. My flower will bloom even more beautifully than last "year!"
"Have you been living here all along?"
"Not exactly, many years ago I lived in a larger, more lush forest. But later, I migrated here along with my flowers. It's nice, but I don't think I'll stay forever. If a gust of wind or a bird carries away my flower's seeds, I'll have to move with my flower!"
Thirussis politely thanked us, "Thank you all for bringing me home. You're all kind people. If you have time, please come play with me. I'll take you to the most beautiful flowers and the clearest water. My companions are there, and I'm sure they'll like you too!"
I touched its head with my finger and said, "Thank you, we'll definitely come by."
Back at the Charlie's estate, Cynthia couldn't forget about Thirussis and began checking the flower buds to see if there were any more fairies inside. Of course, she didn't find anything.
But she wasn't disheartened. She suggested, "Since Thirussis is here in the Botanical Garden, could there be other fairies here too? It's warm, clean, and filled with plants everywhere, brimming with natural elements. Maybe other fairies would like it here!"
We were all interested, even Eden was eager. So, we decided to visit over the weekend. On Saturday, we returned to the Botanical Garden. It was large, and divided into numerous sections. The area where the students were studying was just a small part of it.
Endless fields of flowers and glass conservatories resembling starlight housed countless flowers, plants, and trees. Only then did we realize that, with just us few children, we probably couldn't explore even a single hectare of the flowers in an entire day.
"Be careful, kids," as our temporary 'supervisor', Spil, distributed aprons and gloves to us and instructed. "Plants are delicate. Be gentle and don't damage their branches or petals, alright?"
We were here under the guise of 'community service', mainly to help weed the flower fields. Naturally, we couldn't just barge in and cause chaos. That would just make things difficult for the workers and likely get us in trouble with the person in charge of this flower field. Weeding wasn't a technically challenging task. Guided by the researchers, after a few tries, we quickly figured out what should be plucked and what shouldn't. Then we got down to work. Thirussis also joined us. After the researchers left, it emerged from Cynthia's pocket and flitted around to sense if any of its kind were present.
It loved flowers so much that it couldn't help but hug the buds that were about to bloom or take a bit of pollen from fully bloomed flowers to decorate its wings.
I observed that the flowers it had embraced seemed to become more beautiful in that instant as if a middle-aged person had been rejuvenated and returned to their most youthful and vibrant days.
Cynthia said, "Nature loves fairies and grants them tremendous vitality. Plants loved by fairies also receive this vitality, growing stronger and more beautiful.
"Now I'm even more certain that there are more fairies in this botanical garden. The Lycan Pack has so many plant cultivation bases. This place has never suffered from plant diseases in recent years, and fresh flower species are cultivated here every year. It's hard to say whether this isn't unintentional help from the fairies."
