Chapter 475: The Garden Restaurant

Saturday came, and Lucia stared at her reflection. She was fully dressed, and her attire showed she had prepared for that day.

Lucia’s hand went down and patted her thighs, which contained her knife in case she needed to save herself.

"This is it," Lucia whispered and breathed out her nervousness. She left her room and decided to wait for Daniel in her store.

Lucia gripped her bag while waiting. She was nervous and hoped everything would go well without hindrance.

A few minutes passed by, and a fancy car stopped by. Base opened the door for Daniel, who wore a fancy tuxedo.

"Ugh, does he have no hands?" Lucia muttered to herself in disapproval. She shook her head and patted her cheeks to get ready. She forced a genuine smile on her face as she greeted Daniel.

"Good evening, you look beautiful tonight," Daniel stated after seeing what Lucia wore.

"Thank you, same to you as well," Lucia replied, curtsied slightly to appear well-mannered.

Lucia wore a tight black dress that ended above her ankle and showed her curves. The puffy sleeves showed off her shoulders and a pair of three-inch heels.

"Let’s go. I already have everything set," Daniel informed and gestured for Lucia to enter the car.

"I see, that’s great," Lucia replied and giggled. She went inside the car and couldn’t help but get nervous.

Daniel followed after and sat beside Lucia but made sure to leave a space between them.

"Let’s go, Base," Daniel stated for Base to start driving.

"Yes, Master," Base replied and started the engine.

Lucia faced Daniel, who looked so happy. "Where are we going?" she asked in curiosity.

"It’s a surprise. I’m sure you’ll love it," Daniel replied and started humming.

"Okay," Lucia smiled and leaned back. She looked outside the window and glanced at both Base and Daniel.

"Ah, before I forgot. My mother ask when are you going to visit again," Daniel chuckled, remembering how her mom whined that Lucia left before she could see her again.

"If I’m free," Lucia replied awkwardly. She had forgotten about Misis Belo as she had yet to revisit her flower shop.

"I’ll tell her that," Daniel stated with a grin.

After that conversation, the car ride became silent for five minutes until Base turned the music on.

Lucia glanced at Base, silently thanking him for noticing the awkward atmosphere. Then she looked at Daniel, who was facing the other window.

’I assumed he wanted this date to happen, but why is he turning away from me?’ Lucia thought after noticing Daniel was ignoring her. She looked down and saw him fidgeting with his hands.

Lucia didn’t know if she would laugh or pity Daniel for making him feel that way. Ultimately, she decided to make it seem she didn’t see anything.

After another twenty minutes, they arrived at their destination. It was far from the city’s busy streets but wasn’t in the province.

"Seems like you really prepared for this," Lucia complimented and giggled softly, making Daniel blush.

"Well, I don’t want to leave a bad first impression," Daniel replied. He exited the car and slammed the door in Lucia’s face.

Lucia flinched in surprise. She was also getting out and didn’t expect to experience something like that. She glanced at Base, who remained in the car for some explanation, but he acted as if it was normal.

Lucia sighed and sucked it in. The door on her side opened as she reached the handle.

"I’m sorry, that took a while," Daniel grinned and offered his hand for Lucia to take.

"Oh, I thought you left," Lucia stated playfully, even though it was true.

"Why will I leave my date?" Daniel asked with a frown. He made an effort to open the door for Lucia to appear like a gentleman.

Lucia only smiled and accepted Daniel’s hand. She was pulled out of the car and stood over the cemented floor.

Base drove away and parked the car before buying himself a drink.

On the other hand, Daniel led Lucia inside the restaurant. Since it was night, the light arrangement of the place stood out.

The restaurant had a garden theme that resembled the surrounding trees. On the other side, there was a pond containing various fish for visitors to look at.

"This is beautiful," Lucia complimented in awe.

"I’m glad you liked it... This place is mostly packed, but I rented it out for us," Daniel explained, but whispered his last sentence. He had struggled to bargain with the owner for the amount of rent.

"I appreciate the effort," Lucia stated awkwardly. She didn’t want Daniel to do much, but she had pressured him to do his best.

"Let’s go inside," Daniel grinned and dragged Lucia with him.

The servers greeted them at the door and led them to their designated table on the terrace, viewing the entire forest and a makeshift garden.

"I never thought a restaurant like this existed at all," Lucia stated upon sitting down.

"It’s a new restaurant. Well, it’s actually an old building that was bought and furnished by a young man," Daniel explained. He opened the menu and searched for his favorite food.

"Seems like you have a lot of knowledge about this place," Lucia said, trying to get some information if it was part of his property.

"Haha, well, it’s a newly popular place I found. I’ve been going here for weeks now, and I want to tag you along to enjoy with me," Daniel stated while hiding his face with the menu.

Lucia raised an eyebrow. She found Daniel’s reasoning sweet and almost got distracted.

"Then would you recommend some of their best dishes to me?" Lucia replied, and Daniel’s reaction caught her off-guard.

Daniel dropped the menu and looked at Lucia with his eyes wide and twinkling and his mouth gasping at what he heard.

The other ladies Daniel had dated before never allowed him to pick their food, and Lucia’s request made him feel like a real man.

"Of course! You won’t regret that decision!" Daniel exclaimed delightfully and called out the server to get their orders.
