Chapter 257: The Soul of The Past

Rosina stared at the moon shining above the sky. Even though her vision became blurry, she could still see the moonlight.

"Beautiful," Rosina muttered with a small smile. She could feel her heartbeat slowing down.

"Ah, it’s my time," She whispered before closing her eyes. Accepting her death by the time she stopped breathing.

A woman appeared from the shadows of night with a wicked smile.

"Poor soul, you must be suffering a lot," she stated and went beside Rosina’s body, cradling her in the thighs.

"Vanda..." Draco muttered upon seeing Vanda’s face over the hood.

"I see you have come here, Draco," Vanda muttered and looked straight into Draco’s eyes. A smile remained on her lips as she welcomed Draco.

"What the— How did you know I’m here? This is supposed to be in Rosina’s memories!" Draco gritted his teeth. He didn’t expect to see Vanda in Rosina’s recollections, but what surprised him the most was that he could communicate with her.

Vanda shook her head. "Yes, it’s supposed to be a memory, but you come to her past instead. This is real, Draco," she stated and gestured for Draco to come closer.

Draco followed and sat on the ground beside Rosina’s body.

"I don’t understand what’s happening. Why am I in her past? This happened last time, and I affected her future. Vanda, explain this to me!" Draco shouted in frustration since he had difficulty putting all the occasions together.

Vanda put her index finger on her lips to hushed Draco. "You don’t need to ask, Draco. Just let things go with the flow," she said with a smile.

"But..." Draco paused when Vanda glared at him, and her aura radiated with danger. "Okay, I got it," he replied with a nod.

"Great," Vanda chirped and grabbed Draco’s hand, placing it into Rosina’s chest, where her heart was.

Draco felt Rosina’s warmness, but he couldn’t feel her heartbeat.

"Vanda! She’s dead!" Draco shouted in panic. He tried shaking Rosina’s body, but Vanda stopped him.

"Step away, Draco," Vanda stated calmly, which Draco followed.

Draco took a couple of steps backwards and watched Vanda do her thing.

Vanda took an orb from her pocket and blew a cloud of smoke from her mouth. The clear orb turned black with a hint of greed and red silks.

Then Vanda forcefully opened Rosina’s mouth and inserted the orb inside.

"My dear child, it’s time for you to wake up," Vanda whispered while feeling Rosina’s heartbeat. After a few seconds, Rosina gasped desperately for air.

Rosina grabbed into Vanda’s robe and pulled her with force. Her vision was a bit blurry, but she tried her best to be calm.

"Who... are... you? Rosina whispered, and her voice was barely audible.

Vanda smiled and caressed Rosina’s hair. "Sleep, my child. You need a lot of energy for the future," she stated, slowly putting her hand into Rosina’s eyes and making her fall asleep.

"Vanda, who are you?" Draco whispered while looking at how Vanda looked different compared to when he first saw her.

Vanda didn’t reply. She put Rosina’s head carefully on the ground and walked toward Draco.

Draco took a step back. He realized that Vanda wasn’t a regular werewolf but something else, and she was the reason for Rosina’s current condition.

"I think it’s time for you to come back into reality, Draco. Your vision ends here," Vanda stated with a soft smile.

"No, I need to know how Rosina becomes a demon and can call those monsters from hell. Also, I observe that she can’t transform back into her body ever since she became a demon," Draco stated while fisting his hands. He couldn’t bare to see Rosina in pain every time he touched her.

"Because she can’t anymore. She will stay the way she is. Rosina knew about it, but she decided to transform and use her power for you," Vanda explained and patted Draco’s back. "I don’t want you to see what happened next to Rosina since it’s her privacy, and you should respect it," she added.

Draco gritted his teeth. "Then tell me what I can do to help her. I want her to return to her human body," he said determinedly.

"Hmm, I can see it’s your motive. You’re a good husband but weak in my eyes. Well, there’s one way to help Rosina return to normal," Vanda said with a grin and went closer to Draco.

"What is it?" Draco asked, but he felt uncomfortable that Vanda was too close to him.

"You need to mark her as yours. Good luck, Draco, and I hope I’ll see you become a strong King in the realm," Vanda stated before tapping Draco’s forehead.

Draco started to feel dizzy, and his vision blurred, but he tried to fight back the sensation.

"Vanda, tell me. Who are you, and why are you doing this?" Draco whispered and tried to grab into Vanda’s body when he lost his balance.

"I’m just bored. That’s all," Vanda replied before Draco’s spirit was gone.

Vanda sighed when Draco’s soul turned into an orb and floated into the air, going back into his body.

"Now, where are we?" Vanda sighed and glanced back at Rosina’s body. "Poor child, I don’t want you to suffer, but you are the key to a better future in this wrench realm. I hope you can forgive me," she stated with a small smile.

Vanda went back to Rosina’s body and hugged her tight. She started humming while rocking Rosina’s body.

"You did well, Rosina. I know you will be a good Queen, but for now, let’s continue this," Vanda whispered and kissed Rosina’s hand before the past continued.

On the other hand, Draco’s soul went back into the present and woke up beside Rosina, but she was fast asleep.

"I need to mark her to bring her human body back," Draco whispered and swatted Rosina’s hair away from her neck to reveal the area between the shoulder and neck where the mark should be placed.
