Chapter 258: The Skull With Roses

Rosina groaned as her consciousness was wakening her. She fluttered her eyes, and the first thing she saw was a pair of fangs going to her neck. Her eyes bulged upon realization, and she hurriedly pushed Draco away from her with full force.

"Get away from me!!!" Rosina screamed so loud that her voice created a strong wind wave blowing Draco against the wall.

"Ack!" Draco yelled in pain and heard several of his bones crack from the impact.

"What are you doing, Draco!" Rosina shouted and checked her neck to see if he had marked her. She sighed in relief when she noticed that her skin was still clear.

"Rosina... I should mark you—" Draco was cut off by Rosina’s scream.

"No!!!" Rosina stepped back when she saw the determination in his eyes to make the mating mark.

"Please, understand. If I mark you, your body will change back. You’re no longer a demon," Draco explained, hoping it would ease Rosina’s tension.

"Mark? Change?" Rosina furrowed her eyebrows while trying to connect the pieces together. She had just woken up, and her soul was still adjusting, which made her brain think slower.

"Yes, Vanda told me!" Draco blurted out in a hurry.

"Vanda?" Rosina took a step back. She was confused at how Vanda was involved in what was happening to them. "I’m supposed to take you to the past memories, but is Vanda involved here? I don’t remember bringing you to her," she added.

Draco discovered that Rosina had no memories of him meeting Vanda with her.

"Rosina, trust me. This is for your sake," Draco pleaded and walked closer, but Rosina took a step back, and what hurt him was the fear in her eyes.

"No, we are not sure if that will work. This power of mine cannot be undone once used. I don’t want you to be trapped in this mate bond with me, a demon," Rosina explained, hoping Draco would understand the situation he was in.

"I’m ready to take a risk for you," Draco replied sincerely. He continued to move forward until he was a few inches away from Rosina.

"I don’t know," Rosina whispered. She had changed her plans and sacrificed her own goals for Draco. She didn’t want it all gone to waste.

"Rosina, please. Come back to me," Draco stated softly and offered his hand for Rosina to take.

Rosina stared at his hand, but she was still hesitant upon thinking logically. She didn’t want her efforts to be useless in the end. She offered a genuine smile before shaking her head.

"I’m sorry, Draco, but I won’t accept this. Go back to the Palace and lead the realm differently," Rosina stated and turned her back. It pained her to say those words, but she needed to do it. She put her hands into her stomach and thought about her child, but she still didn’t know who the father was.

Rosina thought about her experience with Cleto, her father and how he beat her every day just because she looked different from what he expected. Thinking how Cleto thought she was Natale’s daughter from another man.

That experience made Rosina think that her history might repeat with her child if it wasn’t from Draco’s seed.

"Rosina, don’t do this. I will die if you don’t return to me," Draco begged. He was starting to get desperate, knowing that Rosina didn’t have plans to come back in the pack with him.

Rosina took a step back and glanced around to a place where she could escape. Since the area was busted by Draco’s bomb and her power. The entrance got blocked by fallen roots and soil.

’I need to escape,’ Rosina thought since she decided not to get marked by Draco. She was willing to accept the pain of being away from her mate for her child’s sake.

Draco noticed Rosina’s plans in mind and prepared for them. When Rosina pinched her finger and grabbed the pendant to make a portal, Draco immediately grabbed her hand and pulled her close.

"No!" Rosina shouted before kicking Draco’s leg and running around the bed to get away, but he was able to get a hold of her ankle, pulling her back.

Rosina fell to the bed and tried kicking Draco away, but he wasn’t letting go. She could quickly kill him off with her power, but she couldn’t hurt him badly.

"Draco! Stop this!" Rosina shouted and clawed Draco’s cheeks, but he didn’t evade the attack.

Draco would let himself receive the wound and pain if the exchange was Rosina back in his life. He grabbed Rosina’s other leg and used all his force to drag her toward him.

Since Rosina’s neck was far from him. Draco needed an alternative place to mark.

"No! Please! Don’t do it! Draco!" Rosina begged with tears in her eyes. She tried twisting her body and holding into the bed for support, but it wasn’t enough. Her wolf begged her to accept Draco since he might be different from Cleto, which wasn’t helping Rosina’s adrenaline.

"I’m sorry, Rosina," Draco whispered before pulling her one more time and grabbing her leg. He bit Rosina between her legs, her mons pubis.

"NO!!!" Rosina trashed around, wanting to get Draco away from her, but she couldn’t. She felt her bones and muscles start to change and form into a new one.

Rosina’s body slowly changed into her human form. It was a painful process for her, but what she focused on the most was the mate bond within her.

The red string of mates was finally completed, and their souls became one, connecting them.

Draco retracted his fangs and looked at the two holes he had created on Rosina’s skin that glowed and changed into a mark.

A skull with multiple rose in black ink started to appear on Rosina’s skin. It was their mate mark, and they both had it.

Draco looked at his crotch and saw the same mark below his belly button. "Rosina, we finally completed the mating process!" he exclaimed happily.

"I hate you," Rosina whispered with hatred. Tears streamed down her cheeks as her body accepted the mate bond, but her soul rejected it, leading her body to flare up with heat. That caused her to lose consciousness.
