Chapter 253: The Hope for A Different Outcome

Draco’s hands trembled upon hearing the truth. He could remember all his sufferings at the hand of Cinzia since he grew up not knowing who his mother was.

"Father..." Draco whispered. He felt all his energy drain out of his body, but he felt someone grab his hand. When he turned around, he saw the demon smiling at him. He was about to speak, but Rocco took his attention.

"Draco, I’m sorry for depriving you of your mother, but even I don’t know where she is. I know she’s alive," Rocco stated with a sad smile.

Draco bit his lips to stop himself from breaking down. He was tired of his struggles inside the Palace and hoped that someday, he would find peace in his life.

"I forgive you, father. Rosina will scold me if I keep hatred in my chest," Draco replied and hugged Rocco. He had many words to say, but he was tired of feeling remorse for everyone. He wanted to create a realm where everyone would live peacefully for Rosina’s sake.

"Draco, I reject your challenge. I, at this moment, step down as a King and pass the title to you," Rocco stated and drew out his sword, which was the King’s sword passed to every generation.

Cinzia closed her eyes since she couldn’t do anything. She lost the battle she had tried to win for so many years. All she wanted was the best life for Gastone and for herself to attain freedom.

"We will have a formal ceremony later, but may I ask who is this... uhh woman?" Rocco asked and looked at Rosina, who was smiling.

Rosina had forgotten that she was still in her demon form. She was delighted that her plan succeeded, but the number of sacrifices she needed to make and the lives she spent to ashes.

Draco looked at the demon in confusion about who she really was. All he knew was her motive, which was the same as his.

Rosina removed her hand that held Draco. She took a step back and smiled at them. She didn’t want to get involved anymore since her job was done.

"You said earlier that you want the pack," Draco muttered and stared at the demon before him.

Rosina smiled and shook her head. "No, you can have it," she stated before blowing a kiss goodbye.

"What?" Draco was suddenly baffled at how easily the demon gave up her motive, even though she was there first.

Rosina ignored his words and spread her skeleton wings. Everyone stepped back as she flapped and flew up in the air. She raised her hand, and the ground shook, creating huge cracks.

The undead armies went down the cracks and vanished. The ground went back to its normal state as if nothing had happened.

"Wait!" Draco called out, but he was ignored. They all watched Rosina’s demon fly away until her figure couldn’t be seen in the sky.

"Son, we should call your mate Rosina to come here," Rocco stated with a smile since Rosina needed to be by Draco’s side when he was crowned.

Draco’s eyes immediately looked at Gastone. "Where is Rosina? You know where she is!" he shouted.

Gastone bit his lips. He looked around, and everyone was waiting for him to answer. He didn’t know what to expect since he felt fuzzy about losing the title, and knowing he didn’t have the King’s blood made him not give a f^ck about making an effort.

"Up there," Gastone replied and pointed at the sky. He wanted Draco to think about the rest since it was not his responsibility. He grabbed Cinzia’s arms and helped her to go inside the Palace to rest. After all, she was still a previous Queen.

Draco’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion, but it didn’t take long before he realized what Gastone meant. He looked at his hand where the demon held him.

"Don’t tell me...." Draco whispered with his eyes widened.

"Draco, are you okay?" Bertrando called because they saw Draco’s reaction, which wasn’t good.

"Yes, I am," Draco forced a fake smile. "I just need to find Rosina," he replied.

But Draco couldn’t go quickly since a new responsibility fell on his shoulders. He had many things to do and arranged for a new pack to live on. He wanted to search for Rosina, but he was concerned if he was gone, Gastone or Cinzia would make a move to destroy him.

Draco didn’t want Rosina’s hardship would go to waste. In the end, Draco decided to stay and make all the arrangements in place, hoping to find Rosina sooner, or she would go to him.

On the other hand, Rosina landed over the free forest mountain area. She felt weak from all the energy she spent creating many portals simultaneously.

"Ow!" Rosina winched in pain. The hand she used to hold Draco was burning in pain. She couldn’t understand since she was supposed to feel the sparks.

Rosina went under the huge tree where its root could be used as shelter. She leaned on the trunk and let her body relax.

"I’ll try transforming back," Rosina muttered before focusing her remaining energy to change back into her wolf form, but she couldn’t. The more she tried, the more pain she felt in her extremities.

"Don’t try fighting it, Rosina. It’s useless," a voice spoke.

Rosina looked up and saw Vanda smiling at her. "Vanda, what are you doing here? You’re supposed to be in the praying room," she added while hiding the pain.

"It’s no use for me to stay there. They already found out the truth," Vanda shrugged and sat beside Rosina. "You did well out there, but I think you forgot the consequences of your actions," she whispered.

"I didn’t forget it, but I’m hoping for a different outcome," Rosina replied. When Vanda revived her from the dead, she told Rosina one thing.

"You can only use your transformation once, but if you do. You can’t turn back from it," Vanda stated with a sigh. She offered a soft, gentle smile to Rosina and wished her all the best before her body vanished in the air.
