Alpha Damon's Greatest Regret
Chapter 118- Arrested

Chapter 118: Chapter 118- Arrested

Daniel’s pov.

Life had never felt this good and I could swear that ever since I became close to the alpha I had never felt as joy as big as this over.

Victory.

It was all at my fingertips and soon I would grasp it, very soon it would be in my palm. I sighed.

I just couldn’t wait for all this to fall into place and soon I would have all that I desired.

The position of an alpha and rule everyone with an iron fist and not be a weakling like Damon was.

I sighed and was happy with everything I had mapped out.

While listening to the voice on the other end of the phone, I sat back in my chair and swirled the whiskey glass in my hand. The guard spoke to me in a cautious, hesitating tone he knew better than to falter.

"Sir she’s dead. Trixie. We silenced her just as you instructed."

My lips curled into a slow smile. *Excellent. That meant there was one less issue to handle. I sipped my wine, the burn did little to quench my inner fire.

"And the body?"

"Carried out." the guard said. "Before anyone could ask too many questions everything was cleaned up."

I nodded as a smile came on my face. Perfect Just the way I wanted it. However, I was already thinking about the next step. Trixie was only a loose end that needed to be tied up; she was never the actual issue.

The actual barrier remained in place.

Damon.

He thought he was invincible and that he could lead the pack, however he wanted to take actions that would only benefit him. But he would see, everyone would see soon.

I hung up, put my phone down, and let out a slow breath. The strategy was already in place and the final battle was about to be set.

I was unaware that I was not alone, not as I thought. — It happened while I was halfway through my lunch, I didn’t even know that something different was about to happen.

How would I know when I thought I was home alone and strategizing that something else was up?

I was enjoying the quiet of my room while slicing into a perfectly cooked steak one moment.

And then the next

Bang! Bang! Bang!

And before I could understand what was happening or before I could ask who was at the door

The door flew open.

Pandemonium broke out.

Sharp-eyed armed men in uniform rushed in with their guns raised. Cops.

With my chair scuffing the marble floor, I leaped to my feet and clattered my fork onto my plate. With my heart racing, I demanded.

"What the hell is this?."

No answer, they stared at me like I was a pathetic fool.

"Daniel." one of them said harshly. "Because you betrayed the Alpha and the pack you are being held under arrest for treason?"

I gazed at them, my thoughts racing, trying to process it all

"And for Trixie’s murder." the officer said taking a step forward.

My blood became cold and I froze staring wide-eyed at them.

"Are you blaming me for Trixie’s death?"

I snorted, adjusting my stance. "That is absurd. "

"We are following orders and have got evidence."

"With— I had nothing to do."

Then I saw him.

As soon as Damon lingered, the room appeared to get smaller.

Just his presence made the tension in the air crackle.

His dark eyes blazed with silent rage as he entered slowly, his face unreadable.

Then I realized.

This wasn’t a mistake.

There had been no misunderstanding.

This was Damon’s plan. My fists clenched as I forced myself to remain composed. I gave a stiff greeting trying to hide my rage, Alpha. .

"It’s an honor having you here, Alpha Damon."

His face remained the same. His jaw tensed.

"Daniel I didn’t come here for pleasantries." He said in a steely voice.

" I came to see you face up to your crimes, you traitor."

I was filled with anger at the word.

I started to deny it once more and say that this was all wrong but Damon interrupted.

With his eyes fixed on mine, he said.

" I sent someone from the packhouse to fetch you. But then he heard you making a call and recorded it. I’m disappointed."

Everything came to a stop I gasped slightly.

My entire body froze.

The phone call.

The one in which I had really spoken my mind about everything.

They had heard me.

I swallowed hard keeping my face expressionless but my thoughts were racing.

"Who?"

Was there someone listening—a guard, a maid, or someone else? When Damon read my silence his eyes narrowed a little.

I felt a twinge of unease for the first time. I was cautious all my life. Always one step ahead. However, I had been caught in some way.

As they approached me, the officers took hold of my arms. Their hold was firm and unforgiving.

"Hold on,". I said finally trying to convince Damon of something.

All Damon did was watch me. I forced a smirk as I turned to him.

" You don’t really think this is nonsense, do you?"

His gaze was icy and deadly

I shuddered. My game was over even before it started.

"Take him," said Damon. With the snap of handcuffs around my wrists, the officers jerked my hands behind my back.

I exhaled as anger went through Mr. There was more to come. And if I got the chance again, he would pay

I lowered my voice as I leaned in a little as they pulled me past.

"Damon. You’re doing something wrong,"

I whispered. "I’m your advisor and second in command to you, you can’t possibly arrest me."

He chuckled.

"You should have thought about this before you sent Trixie to poison my drink and then killed her so she wouldn’t reveal the truth."

My stomach sank immediately.

Something flickered in his eyes for the first time.

"You are the worst thing that ever happened to this pack and for this not to repeat itself, you will have to be beheaded."
