Chapter 119: Chapter 119- On A Rescue Mission

Damon’s pov

I had to make sure that the guards made sure he was surrounded 24/7 so he wouldn’t escape and instructed the head guard to prepare him to get beheaded.

I still couldn’t believe it all.

Everything that had happened and I didn’t see it coming. Thankfully everything had been brought to light.

I arrived home to find the letter waiting for me. There was one envelope on my desk unmarked. No particular name.

I had a sinking feeling in my heart.

As I unfolded the paper, I rapidly skimmed the words, my heart racing with each one.

Zarah and Elliot must be rescued or they will be exterminated from the earth. Don’t try to be smart.

The blood in my veins went cold. I clenched the letter until my knuckles were white. My body went completely still and a deadly silence descended upon me.

The Zarah. Elliott. I should have known that this was what had happened.

Someone had taken them from me and I was mad with rage.

My chest filled with a slow-burning rage. Reaching for my phone I called Carlos. Without hesitation he replied.

"What is it, Alpha Damon?"

"Please come to the pack house."

Carlos didn’t ask. any questions, he didn’t need to, he understands me perfectly well

" I will be there in a jiffy." He said.

I ended the call, my thoughts already in motion.

This letter’s sender wanted me to rush in

I knew it was someone very close to me or rather someone who knew me was doing this.

Damn

They wanted me to rush in without thinking.

But they didn’t take me seriously.

I wasn’t going into a trap. I had to think and strike when they didn’t know that I was coming.

Carlos arrived in a matter of minutes. As he studied the letter, his piercing gaze hardened.

"This is from Mark," he said without hesitation. "It must be."

My jaw clenched as I nodded.

"I think so too."

He was a constant source of annoyance Mark was constantly plotting and trying to take me down. But pursuing the kidnapping of Zarah and Elliot. It was too much, he had bitten more than he could chew.

He was such a fool to think he would get me into his trap.

Carlos rubbed his face with his hand and let out a sharp exhale.

"They prefer it if you come alone."

I laughed.

"Like the devil, I will."

Carlos looked into my eyes.

" It’s a trap."

"I understand."

"Then we fight.

Slowly a dark smile appeared on my lips. "Yes, we will."

---.

We made quick progress. We were prepared and armed when nightfall arrived. Behind me with their weapons loaded and their faces set stood my finest men.

The letter’s address was an abandoned warehouse outside of the city. Normal. Predictable.

I nearly took offense.

Silently we came moving like shadows.

There were Zarah and Elliot in that building. I was also going to rescue them.

The ambush started as soon as we entered.

Then there was gunfire. From the shadows, men emerged their faces contorted with pride and their weapons drawn.

Some of them shift into their wolf form

However, they didn’t think we would be prepared. We moved quickly and eliminated each one of them immediately.

Fists. Claws. Swords.

Carlos was a quick and deadly fighter, he was next to me. The men Mark had were inadequate. They were weakling

Their bodies fell to the ground.

The smell of smoke and blood filled the air. However, I didn’t stop. I made sure that I swept them all from the face of the Earth.

I was gasping for air as I kicked down the final door.

She was there. Zarah. She was restrained, her face white her eyes wide with terror.

Beside her huddled and shaky was Elliot too. I was filled with rage.

In front of them, Mark had his gun pointed straight at Zarah’s head.

They served as a shield for the coward. With a steady grip on my own gun, I stepped forward.

"Mark, let them go."

His smile was broad.

"Or what?"

I didn’t answer.

There was no need to answer the fool, he thought I had come here to exchange silly words with him

Because in the next second. A shot went off.

Mark twitched. His eyes went wide with surprise and then he fell to the ground.

Carlos was standing behind him, expressionless, his gun still raised.

"You speak too much."

The ropes were torn from Zarah’s wrists as I hurried forward. Her body shook as she fell across me.

"Damon," she muttered.

"I’m here," I whispered and held her close. "I’ve got you."

I grabbed Elliot and tugged him into my embrace.

"Uncle Damon." he said crying and hugging me.

I pressed a kiss to his hair and swallowed hard.

*You are now safe."

Mark’s men had been captured or killed. His terror reign was over. He was badly wounded and I knew he won’t last long

Out of nowhere, she came out and walked to us with shaky legs

Rhoda. It’s been long since I saw her. Tears were streaming down her face as she collapsed to her knees begging and crying.

"I didn’t want to do this, please, Zarah," she exclaimed.

"Zarah please I had no other option."

Zarah’s hands were shaking as she stood motionless. In her eyes, I saw the war—the hurt, the betrayal, the anger.

At last, she shook her head.

"No." She said in a raspy voice."You had an option, but you chose this."

As the guards pulled her away Rhoda’s sons became more intense.

"I can’t, I can’t forgive her." She sobbed into my chest as I drew her in close and I could feel her pain too. I sighed.

"Damon, I was terrified. I thought—."

She looked up at me as I cupped her face and tipped her chin up.

" You are now safe. Elliott is safe. And I promise you that I won’t ever allow anything to happen to you again.
