After Transmigrating into a Novel with My Boyfriend, He Turned Out to Be a Native Villain -
Chapter 287: The Couple
Yu Yu paid no attention to Dai Liu, merely glancing at Yu Li beside her. "How's your understanding going? Anything else you're unsure about?"
Yu Li shook her head. "No, nothing."
"Alright, then come with me. I'll show you the workflow." Yu Yu pressed her temples. "You'll be assigned day shifts for now. Night shifts will come after you're more familiar."
Dai Liu suddenly exclaimed, "Ah! Sis Yu, are you still taking night shifts?"
"Yeah," Yu Yu responded hoarsely, her voice slightly raspy. "Go check on those recent interns. I'm worried they might cause trouble again."
"Got it!" Dai Liu waved at Yu Li. "I'll head off first then."
Yu Li followed Yu Yu into a patient's room, where the latter pointed to the medical chart.
"During day shifts, you'll monitor their conditions, administer medications on schedule, and take their temperature and blood pressure. I'll demonstrate the entire process now. If anything's unclear, ask afterward, understood?"
Yu Li nodded obediently. "Understood."
Picking up a thermometer, Yu Yu bent slightly as she demonstrated the procedure while explaining key points. When she finished and looked up, she found Yu Li standing quietly with the faintest furrow between her brows.Previous interns might have been clumsy at times, but at least they'd take notes to remember important details. This one just stood there watching?
"Got it?" Yu Yu straightened up and asked.
Yu Li blinked. "Got it."
If she hadn't learned after spending so long in psychiatric hospitals in her past life, she'd be ashamed.
"Really?" Yu Yu didn't believe her. "Then demonstrate it for me now."
But as she watched Yu Li perform the procedures flawlessly, her frown gradually eased, replaced by surprise.
This intern learned remarkably fast. Though quiet, she was unexpectedly competent.
Unable to help feeling impressed, Yu Yu patted Yu Li's shoulder. "Well done."
"Thank you, Sis Yu." The girl smiled, her fox-like eyes carrying an indescribable allure.
Yu Yu paused momentarily before softening her tone. "Start with this for now. We'll progress as you get more familiar. And if anything unusual happens during checks, don't hesitate—call the doctors immediately."
"Okay."
Yu Yu checked her phone for the time. "Find Dai Liu—she'll assign your patients. She must've told you already: floors four and five are off-limits."
"She did." Yu Li blinked. "Sis Yu, can I ask you something?"
"Hmm? What is it? Go ahead." Currently viewing this intern favorably, Yu Yu showed more patience.
"I heard our hospital has... supernatural occurrences at night. Is that true?"
Yu Yu's expression darkened instantly, but before she could reprimand the girl, Yu Li paled and whispered, "It's just... my constitution's a bit special. I'm sensitive to such things."
Seeing genuine unease in the girl's eyes, Yu Yu swallowed her scolding.
"Don't listen to nonsense. It's all psychological."
She patted Yu Li's shoulder reassuringly. "Stop dwelling on rumors. I work night shifts all the time. Now get to work. I've got things to attend to."
Yu Li nodded obediently. "Okay, bye Sis Yu."
As Yu Yu left, the expression faded from Yu Li's face. She stared thoughtfully at the departing figure.
This NPC probably knows something.
Just too guarded.
Recalling the elevator incident earlier, Yu Li raised an eyebrow in surprise.
Bo Jingmo was unexpected. She'd assumed her "boyfriend" would be the ghost, but... he had a normal identity?
Not just her—the live-stream audience sensed something odd too.
[That man in the elevator... was that Bo Jingmo?]
[The eyes look similar.]
[Seriously? Isn't this Yu Li's solo round? Bo Jingmo's here too?]
[Their relationship's definitely unusual.]
[Obviously. They're always together in instances—if they're not connected, I'll eat my hat.]
[Folks, bold prediction: they're definitely a couple in real life.]
[No way! Rare to see partner duos.]
[Maybe Yu Li died in a previous instance, and Bo Jingmo joined to find her?]
[That actually makes sense. Wow, I wanna ask them directly.]
[Need to ask? How many times have they admitted it in instances? Definitely a couple, heh.]
Before Yu Li arrived, several interns were already at the hospital. When she returned to the nurses' station, three or four girls were seated there. They instinctively scrutinized Yu Li upon seeing her, but with her mask on, her true appearance remained hidden. Silently, they returned to their phones.
It was nearly noon, with most patient checks completed—they were just resting now.
Spotting Yu Li, Dai Liu waved. "Yu Li, over here!"
Approaching, Yu Li received a sheet of paper. "These circled rooms are your assigned patients."
Before Yu Li could examine it closely, a dissatisfied voice sounded behind her.
"Why does she get all the cooperative patients? Ours never cooperate—checks are such a hassle."
Hearing this, the other girls looked up, eyes fixed on Yu Li's list.
Noticing the shift in atmosphere, Dai Liu frowned. "Sis Yu assigned these. Take complaints to her."
The speaker—one of the interns—pouted. "No way, Sis Yu's too scary."
Yu Li glanced over. "Want to swap?"
The girl froze. "You'd agree?"
"No." Yu Li smiled sweetly, sincerity in her eyes. "Just asking."
"..."
Gan Youshan had never met someone like this. Fuming, she snorted. "As if I care."
Checking the time, she saw it was lunch. "Anyone wanna hit the cafeteria?"
The others nodded. "Let's go."
Perhaps still angry, she deliberately ignored Yu Li when gathering the group—an obvious snub.
Dai Liu waved dismissively. "Don't mind pettiness. They're interns like you, new here. Especially that one who spoke—always problematic. Made big mistakes before—Sis Yu reduced her to tears multiple times."
Yu Li's eyes glinted subtly as she set down the sheet. "Really? What mistakes warranted that?"
