Chapter 1432: Babies Street Walk

While their mother was working hard, the two babies were very carefree. At this time, they were with Lola and Yana, their unofficial caretakers, and they were taking the kids for a walk around the territory.

Fufi and the pregnant Snow were there as well. Usually, Fufi would be out with guards, but he decided to stay and bond with his pregnant wife instead.

They called it ’bringing a bit more joy to the streets’. After all, just the sight of the babies (and the dogs) softened the atmosphere until the next street.

They were also wearing mini version of ’big kids’ casual clothing today. Meatballs was wearing cute brown shorts and a little shirt with cartoon patterns (it was a white tiger he called Baby Baku). free\NovelFire.c o(m)

On the other hand, Pepper was wearing a cute suspender dress, and little doll shoes that fit an adult’s palm.

Both of them had tethers on, tied at the back of their suspenders. It was a bit controversial to some, but it was better to ensure the kids’ safeties!

Whether they wanted to or not—the kids were really difficult to run after when they got away! Their old bones couldn’t handle it!

Anyway, the tethers were comfortable and several meters long, so it wasn’t really a big deal. The kids didn’t mind either, because it was the condition wherein they could walk on their own outside of the house. It was really reminiscent of walking baby dogs so they could poop.

Ironically, it was the actual dogs that weren’t tied up, but what could they do?

Anyway, as expected, Little Meatball was running around as soon as they entered the streets. He was really agile, considering how small his feet were.

One moment he was on their left, the next he was on their right, and another moment he was jumping around chasing something.

He then went to greet whoever offered him some sort of food.

This kid would get kidnapped one day.

"Wowww! Wowwww!"

"Here you go, baby meatball," a random lady smiled, blushing at his cuteness, and handed him a cotton candy. The baby happily took it and ran around, but then he flinched as if remembering something.

He then turned around and gave a toothless grin to the lady. He was chubby and had a plump stomach. Their vocabulary wasn’t large, but he did know some polite words.

"Thwank uuu..." he said, immediately munching on the soft cotton candy.

It sent cute attacks everywhere and someone almost fainted.

That said, they could give the children freedom to eat from strangers like this because of the rules.

People could not purposely cause harm to others, after all, and Althea even spent a thousand gold to make it so specific that even if someone placed poison and handed it to someone innocent (thus taking advantage of the ’intentional’ loophole), the rules would still be triggered.

Both the originator of the poison and the innocent middleman would be captured; however, the latter would be investigated more to check if they were truly victims as well.

With all these rules, it could be said that—outside of wars—Alterra was truly the safest place to be.

Who knows? Perhaps it could eventually become a haven for people who were always assassinated.

Anyway, in contrast to the hyperactive Baby Meatball, Baby Pepper was walking leisurely in front of them, like a little princess.

"Wow, baby Pepper is so well-behaved and pretty!"

"Like a little lady!"

"I can already imagine the little boys running after her!"

"Some already are~" The adults laughed. The old women chuckled. Garan would definitely get white hair soon.

Anyway, both babies just made everyone’s hearts beat and melt at the same time.

There were plenty of people in their path who’d stop to greet them. One was Bianca, who was followed by her two adoptive sons, Pongo and Gururu.

They brightened at the sight of the kids. Pongo and Gururu, when they didn’t have class and the Baby Class did, then they’d usually take a peek along with other kids. When the babies were pulled out of class for reasons unknown, they were all very sad!

Basically, to most kids in Alterra, the babies were like their little brothers and sisters whom they must protect. They naturally cared about their schooling!

"Hello, babies~" Bianca said, leaning down a bit.

Yana kneeled down and guided the babies’ hands to a waving position. "Say hello to auntie Biance and big brothers Pongo and Gururu..."

"Hewoooo," the little babies greeted them back with those cute milky voices, their hands opening and closing to mimic what they thought was waving of hands.

Bianca and the other adults nearby swooned.

If this were a cartoon, they’d have hearts in her eyes.

"Oh my, sigh, so adorable..." Bianca mumbled, looking like she’d physically melt.

Yana and Lola also greeted them. Interestingly, they noticed how the family’s attire and hair were filled with brownish white powder.

Yana couldn’t help but look at them curiously. "Where did you come from?"

Bianca smiled. "We just finished the animal playground in the shelter," sjhe said. "We built it ourselves. Along with our team, the kids helped me," she said, patting their heads.

The two grinned, very proud. It was the weekend today, so there weren’t any classes. They were very happy to help out their mum and also hone their skills. After all, they’d need these skills to keep providing a good life for themselves and their family!

They must give back their kindness! NovelFire

"Now the cute dogs and cats have nice houses and a playground!" Pongo said, and the little monk bobbed his bald head.

"They were very happy."

The animal shelter was a place where the uncontracted Terran animals (or battle pets, as the aborigines would call them) would reside.

Bianca could tell the children would start rambling on. She patted their head. "Okay, time for a good bath and dinner," she told them. "Dad is waiting."

Remembering their dad, Eloi, was probably waiting at home now looking pitiful, the two flinched, immediately forgetting they were about to say. "Yes, muummm~" they said, before turning to the babies and saying goodbyes to everyone.

Lola and the others watched the trio go farther along the street. The old women lifted the babies, who were obviously quite curious about the new place they had never heard of.

"Want to go take a look?" Lola asked the babies, poking their cheeks. They nodded adorably, their plump cheeks bouncing a little.

The old women laughed. To the animal shelter, it is!
