Chapter 1431: Meditations

Althea concentrated the surrounding elements into her body. She could not really sense other elements like fire, but her three elements earth, wood, and water, were quite abundant here.

For the next half a day, this was the only thing she’d do. It would not increase her stats, but it would solidify her foundation and—provided she did this for a long time and was consistent—would make it easier for her to control her elements.

Well, it was taking her a while to level up indeed, being stuck on the same level for weeks. This was a normal pace for other people—and still very fast compared to aborigines—but was slow by her standards.

However, there were just so many things that had been happening in the past couple of weeks, one of which was her master’s arrival. There were just so many things she was passionate about to explore.

While she did feel bad that she couldn’t contribute as much in terms of military power as she used to, she believed that she was contributing to the territory’s overall strength and, for now, that was enough.

With that in mind, she finished off her meditation and headed home, intent on continuing her pharmacy experiments the next day.

...

The next potion she wanted to try was Wood-attributed potion. This time, most of the ingredients were readily available in their (or their associate’s) forests.

The rarest ingredient in the bunch was probably the wandering vine sap, extracted from the wandering vine, a semi-transluscent creeper found in the West. It was brought by Bart’s team, as it was endemic in the area.

It was quite famous because of its ability to change appearances according to what it was attached to, whether it was a tree, a rock, or the like.

It was also highly adaptable and neither she nor Thorance had to do anything to grow it. They just had to take away a stem and it’d grow on its own. They had to control it very well, however, because it was quite an invasive species.

That said, because it was so fascinating, there were teams assigned to make use of this. It was not limited to the pharmacy field, either.

The group with the best progress was, in fact, the equipment team, who had been trying to make camouflage equipment with it.

Since they had an abundance of the material, they let it be sold in the markets, so perhaps someone outside the research center could figure out a use.

She also encouraged experimentation with potions and other innovations among the masses, and they had the option of selling them to the Research Center.

Of course, if they sold the formula and methodology to the research center, they would still get their patent share as well as a large amount of contribution points.

They would also get a guaranteed and advantageous offer to join the Team, though so far most of the major innovations in the field had been happening within the walls of the Research Center, and understandably so.

Anyway, putting that aside, Althea focused on her work in progress, and this was what she would do for the next several hours.

She swore that, unless she was specifically inspired or was in need of a particular potion, this was the last one she’d create from scratch.

She decided to focus on mastering the potions she had already created. This would give her time to do other things again.

Surprisingly, this one was relatively easier to achieve. She reckoned it was because an ingredient was incredibly stable and adaptable, on top of the fact that wood was her strongest element.

And so, after another hour or two—

[Created! Verdant Heart Elixir (B). Apply on soil to grant permanent increased plant survivability by 100% regardless of terrain, soil type, or climate. Enables plants to absorb nutrients and moisture even in hostile environments. Ideal for rare or non-native species for long-term integration]

She smiled. It was perfect. She happened to have a few new plants that was very hard to grow. Although she managed to figure out the needs of many exotic plants she received by virtue of her skills, her system abilities, and her technology, it wasn’t a hundred percent success. This was just what she needed to increase her chances.

This could also help with the farms in the desert, though she wouldn’t offer it unless she could easily mass produce it.

Anyway, after creating two more bottles, Althea felt spent and dragged her feet to the couch (each big laboratory had resting and lounge areas with a small pantry and coffee area) and rested there.

While she did so, her master stared at all the bottles carelessly placed on the table. He used his own advanced assessment skills to know more about them.

They were incredibly smooth, as if it was a combination found in nature!

"Amazing..." Hoffen whispered as he looked at this apprentice of his, whose eyes were heavy. She was about to doze off.

Looking at her like this, it would be hard to imagine how much she accomplished after such a short time here.

Her progress was nothing short of a miracle, even for him.

First, her control of her element was exemplary. When he went home and asked Gregor how it was, he found out that even that lad was amazed.

Because they saw the raw potential of the territory, especially through Althea, Gregor even joined in the barracks. He became a Trainor and captain (which became a literal celebration over there), though Gregor said that he also learned a lot in turn.

Then came Althea’s activation of his inherited skill.

One must know that it wasn’t easy to activate a skill. To receive a skill, one had to trigger the integral aspects to it. And if one was given second-hand, like what Hoffen did with the [Elemental Integration] Skill, it was even more difficult.

Not to mention, such a high-level skill was incredibly complex. NovelFire

When Hoffen gave it to her, he was fully expecting he’d wait a year or two before any decent progress was made. Who’d have thought it would take her less than a month?

His eyes deepened as he looked at the young woman, who had really fallen asleep.

The old man sighed, taking one of the blankets from their cabinets and draping it over her.

More and more, it was clear: Althea was a genius unprecedented in the human realm, and he was glad to be a part of it.
