Chapter 295: THE PRESENTATION
Chapter 295: THE PRESENTATION
As Astrid began her presentation, the lights dimmed, and a large screen behind her came to life.
She stood confidently, her eyes scanning the room as she began to speak.
"Esteemed members of the board, I am honored to present to you my vision for the future of Gils and Co. As an architect and a member of this company, I have always been passionate about building and construction. And I believe that with the right strategy and planning, we can take this company to new heights."
The screen behind her flickered to life, displaying a series of slides that outlined her plans. The first slide showed a stunning image of a sleek, modern skyscraper.
"This is the Aurora Tower," she explained, her voice filled with enthusiasm.
"A 50-story skyscraper that will be the tallest building in the city. We have already secured funding for this project, and I am confident that it will be a game-changer for our company."
The next slide showed a series of images, each one depicting a different aspect of the tower’s design.
"As you can see, the Aurora Tower will be a state-of-the-art building, with cutting-edge technology and sustainable design. We will be using the latest materials and techniques to ensure that this building is not only beautiful but also environmentally friendly."
The men watched, entranced, as Astrid continued to explain her plans. She showed them images of other projects, each one more impressive than the last.
"We have also secured funding for a new shopping mall, which will be the largest in the region. And we are in talks with several major companies to build new headquarters for them."
As she spoke, the screen behind her displayed images of the shopping mall and the headquarters, each one more impressive than the last.
"Now, I know what you’re thinking," she said.
"You are thinking, ’How are you going to make a profit from all of these projects?’ Well, let me tell you. We have done our research, and we are confident that these projects will not only make a profit but will also increase the value of our company."
The slide change displayed charts and graphs that showed the projected profits from each project.
"As you can see, we are projecting a significant increase in profits over the next five years. And with the funding we have secured, we are confident that we can make these projects a reality."
The men watched, impressed, as Astrid continued to explain her plans. She showed them images of the buildings, the shopping mall, and the headquarters, each one more impressive than the last.
"And now, I would like to introduce you to some of the investors who are interested in working with us," she explained more
The screen displayed images of several powerful men.
"These are some of the most influential men in the industry, and they are all interested in working with us. We have already secured funding from several of them, and we are confident that we can secure even more funding in the future."
As she spoke, the men along with Donald watched, impressed, as Astrid continued to explain her plans.
"And finally, I would like to announce that Logan has planned to expand a building for the next launch of a jewelry factory," she proclaimed exciting news.
" What? How do you expect us to believe you? The Logan hardly give out their building projects to just anyone." Astrid smirked.
" Are you saying Gils and Co is just a company?" Ethan Lee swallowed and immediately recoiled back.
"Seeing you have nothing more to say it means I can proceed " She proceeded and finished her presentation, and the room erupted into applause.
The men all stood up, their faces filled with admiration and respect even though they were all not in acceptance of her.
Donald smiled, his eyes twinkling with pride.
But just as it seemed like the meeting was coming to a close, one of the men spoke up.
"Why did you bring all of this up, Astrid?" he asked, his voice filled with curiosity.
Astrid smiled, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Because I wanted to show you that I have a vision for this company, and I have the skills and knowledge to make it a reality."
The man nodded, his face thoughtful. "And are you interested in the chairman position?" he asked, again.
" She has no other reason, You can see how she had prepared for that presentation," Marcus Thompson retorted.
But Astrid shook her head,
"No, I am not interested in the chairman position," she declared, now gaining back the curiosity of them all.
"Are you playing with us? We..." but Astrid cut him off.
"I only brought this up because I do want to show you that age doesn’t determine one’s knowledge or capabilities. I may be young, but I have a passion for this company and a vision for its future."
"I have researched this company and I am pleased to tell you that I know many things about it."
The men exchanged glances as if they were now at a loss.
"So... are you saying you are not interested in the chairman position?’ Marcus asked and she nodded her head.
"No, I am not.. even though I know many things I am still learning in the midst of you all.";
Then another man spoke up, "Well, Astrid, you have certainly made a strong case for yourself. But who do you think would be the best candidate for the chairman position?"
Astrid smiled, she had one name raining in his head, right from the moment her grandad began to talk about retirement.
"Well I think Mr. Jerkins would be an excellent choice," she said, her voice filled with confidence.
The room fell silent, with all eyes turning to Mr. Jerkins. He looked surprised, as Donald also stared at him speechless."
" Wh.... Why would you say that? He is just..."
" An assistant right?" Astrid completed his words.
" But have you forgotten that before the chairman can take any steps it’s going to pass through him?"
" But..." Astrid shut him up again.
"Mr. Jerkins has a wealth of experience and knowledge in the industry," Astrid continued.
"He has a proven track record of success and has always put the interests of the company first." The man still refused to agree.
"Mr Ethan... why don’t we leave these to the board of directors to vote, before you suddenly decide to judge?"
