Chapter 267: VISITING HIM
Chapter 267: VISITING HIM
Stephan sat well on the hospital bed but you could see how pale and tired he looked, while his mum sat beside him happy that her son had finally regained consciousness.
The doctor attending to them smiled warmly at Stephan’s mother. "I am glad to see Dr Stephan I doing fine now," He said. "However, we need to discuss his condition and the necessary steps to ensure his recovery."
Stephan’s mother nodded anxiously, her eyes fixed on her son. "Please, doctor, tell me everything."
The doctor nodded sympathetically. "We find out that he also has a pre-existing condition, Crohn’s disease, which has been aggravated by the trauma of the gunshot."
Stephan’s mother looked worried. "Crohn’s disease? I had no idea. How? What?"
The doctor nodded. "It’s a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that can cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, and weight loss.
Stephan’s mother looked at her son, concern etched on her face. "What do we need to do, doctor?"
The doctor smiled reassuringly. "We will need to monitor Dr. Stephan’s condition closely, manage his pain, and ensure he’s getting the necessary nutrients. We will also need to adjust his medication to control his Crohn’s disease. I will provide you with a detailed care plan and schedule follow-up appointments to ensure his recovery is on track."
Stephan’s mother nodded, "I will do everything to help my son recover."
The doctor smiled warmly. "I am confident that with your care and our medical team’s support, Dr. Stephan will make a full recovery." She smiled thanking him.
As soon as the doctor left, Stephan’s face contorted in anger, his fists clenched tightly.
"Mattie is a bitch!" He let out in anger. "How could I not know that she could be this vile? How could I trust her to that level?"
He shook his head, his eyes filled with regret. "I love her so much, but the only person she’s ever wanted is Julian."
His mother moved closer to him, concern etched on her face. "Stephan, take care of yourself," she said softly.
"That’s the best thing we can do now."
Stephan looked up at her, his eyes searching almost in tears, not only had Mattie refused to love him but cost him to be sick.
"I made Mattie sign a contract, Stephan," She announced, "She can’t escape being your wife. She will be your wife forever."
Stephan’s eyes narrowed at this if this was told before the issue that had occurred he would be so happy, but now he couldn’t even explain his feelings.
"I regret ever falling for her," he said, his voice filled with pain. "I regret ever destroying the relationship I had with Julian." His mum could only pat his back, trying to console him.
Just then, the door pushed open, and Julian strolled inside, his hands in his pockets, accompanied by his assistant Ryan. Stephan’s eyes locked onto Julian’s, and he turned mute immediately.
But before Julian could utter a word Stephan’smother stood up, her eyes flashing with anger. "Why are you here, Julian?" she demanded. "Haven’t you caused enough havoc in our lives already?"
Julian’s eyes met with hers still maintaining that calm look, "I am not here to argue with you, ma’am." he said.
"I am here to visit Stephan. We have something to talk about."
Stephan’s mother moved forward, refusing to believe his words. "Why?" she demanded. "What could you possibly have to talk about?"
Julian glanced at her, his expression calm. "I think that’s between Stephan and me, this is between friends."
Stephan’s mother looked like she was about to explode, but she seemed to realize that she had no choice. She placed a small kiss on Stephan’s head and then walked out of the room, leaving the two men alone.
The silence between them was so long, and Stephan could feel the tension building. Finally, not able to keep it in anymore he broke the silence. "Talk," he muttered.
Julian smiled, looking around the room and Stephan’s gaze followed suit wondering what he was looking at.
"Why do I have the feeling that you know what I want to talk about, Stephan?" he asked.
Stephan shrugged, his eyes locked onto Julian’s. "Maybe because I’m guilty of something," he said. "Maybe because you found out that I have been obsessed with your woman."
Julian raised an eyebrow, his expression surprised. "My Woman?" he repeated. "The last time I checked, my woman hated you with every single fiber of her being."
A scoff escaped Stephan’s lips at this. "Wow, so you no longer want or even think about Mattie?" he asked. "Yeah, the only person I think about is Astrid."
Stephan’s eyes narrowed, rage bittering in him, Julianthrn leaned forward, his eyes piercing deep into that of Stephan.
"I can see it’s been a while since you have had a conversation with my wife, Stephan," he said. "The last time I checked, my wife had warned me never to utter that name again, still you keep bringing it up."
Stephan couldn’t explain his feelings right now, "I have never seen you listen to anyone in your life the way you do to Astrid," he affirmed with a look of disdain. "Not even when you were with Mattie."
"Well I am not here for that conversation, Stephan," he said. "I am here for something else." Julian cut him off.
Stephan stuttered, his eyes wide with fear, seeing Julain’s cold and dangerous gaze.
"W-what is it, Julian?" he asked, his voice trembling.
Julian pulled out his phone and tossed it to Stephan, who caught it awkwardly.
Then the phone’s screen flickered to life, and a video began to play. Stephan’s eyes widened in horror as he watched Mattie inject Astrid’s mum.
Stephan swallowed hard, his face pale, how did he get this he kept it in a safe place.
"So you knew?" he mumbled under his breath. "How did you gain access to my building?"
Julian’s smile grew wider. "Well, I didn’t do what Astrid did... I am telling you my future purpose." Julian replied.
Stephan’s fists clenched, and Julian held up a hand. "Calm down, Stephan," he said. "This is just the iceberg."
Julian’s eyes narrowed as he pressed more questions, "How did Mattie get you so wrapped around her finger that you would do anything she wanted?" he asked.
Stephan’s eyes flashed with anger. "That’s something you will never know," he spat.
Julian’s smile grew wider. "Well, too bad, because I already found out."
Stephan’s eyes snapped up to Julian’s, and then he gestured to the phone. Stephan picked it up in a rush, his eyes scanning the screen. His face went white, and his hands began to tremble.
He fell to his knees, his eyes fixed on the screen. "How did you get hold of this?" he whispered.
Julian’s smile grew wider. "Instead of asking how I got hold of this, you should be asking what exactly I’m going to use to punish you."
Stephan’s eyes snapped up to Julian’s, and he saw a glint of steel in his eyes. He knew he was in trouble.
