Chapter 261: HER NEW PROJECT
Chapter 261: HER NEW PROJECT
As the morning sun streamed through the windows, Astrid and Julian were busy in their respective spaces.
Astrid sat at the desk Julian had bought the previous day, her eyes fixed on the sketching board in front of her.
She was working on her new architectural project, a building design she had titled "Elysium."
Julain on the other hand could be seen on the bed and also focused on some paperwork.
After hours of intense focus, Astrid finally stretched her arms up over her head, arching her back in a passive stretch.
"Finally!" she mumbled to herself, feeling a sense of satisfaction at the progress she had made.
She stood up, her sketching board still clutched in her hand, and walked over to Julian, who was busy on his laptop.
Astrid climbed onto the bed beside him, a small smile playing on her lips.
"Hey," she said, steachtching him on her board. Julian’s eyes flicked up from his screen, his brow furrowing in question. "What’s this?" he asked, taking the file from her.
Astrid settled in beside him, her eyes shining with excitement. "It’s the building design I came up with, based on what you told me about your client’s needs. I got some inspiration when I visited Adam’s mansion last night."
Julian’s eyes scanned the pages of the file, his expression growing more and more impressed. He knew she was busy but decided not to ask what she was busy with.
"Wow, Astrid, this is amazing," he said, his voice filled with admiration. "You’re a genius."
Astrid blushed, feeling a surge of pride at Julian’s praise. "Thanks," she said, smiling. "I tried to incorporate all the features you mentioned your client was looking for since you refused to give me his information."
Julian nodded, his eyes still scanning the design. "This is perfect," he said.
"But I think my client might want a bigger master bedroom. His wife loves books, so maybe we could incorporate a library or a reading nook into the design."
Astrid’s eyes lit up with excitement as she took in Julian’s suggestions.
"That’s a great idea, I love books too," she said, and would like that in a room of mine.
"We could also add in some office spaces, maybe a children’s play area, and some extra bedrooms for their kids." Astrid nodded eagerly as she retrieved back her sketch board.
She went back to her desk to drop the sketch board, pulled her orange juice, and then turned back to her husband.
Julian’s eyes followed her, his gaze lingering on the curves of her body. She was wearing a lacy lingerie set, covered by a sheer, transparent robe that hugged her figure in all the right places.
Julian’s eyes narrowed, his mind already racing with thoughts of what he wanted to do to her.
But before he could act on those thoughts, Astrid walked over to him, a sly smile spreading across her face.
"You didn’t ask me about last night," she said, as she sat down beside him on the bed.
Julian looked down at her, his eyes locking onto hers. "Do I need to?" he retorted amused.
Astrid pouted, her lip curling downward. "You are my husband, aren’t you?" she asked, her voice tinged with a hint of annoyance. "Shouldn’t you want to know what I am up to?"
Julian sighed, dropping his laptop onto the bed beside him. "Okay, fine," he said, turning to face her. "Why do you want to sponsor this girl?"
Astrid’s face lit up with a bright smile. "I want her to follow Mattie around, and that is her payment," she answered, "I need someone on the inside to keep an eye on her."
Julian’s expression was neutral, but Astrid could sense a hint of curiosity behind his eyes, she wanted him to counter her words but he didn’t.
Astrid leaned in close, her voice dropping to a whisper. "You are not mad I am doing that?" She asked and he scoffed.
"Nope, knowing she’s involved in your mother’s death, does not care what you do." Astrid giggled at this.
"But have evidence," he proceeded, "Why aren’t you taking her down."
Astrid shook her head, "No, I want to make her suffer. I want to make her fall apart, piece by piece."
Julian’s eyes locked onto hers, "I am with you, no matter what," he said, his voice low and husky. "As long as it makes you happy."
Astrid’s face softened, her eyes filling with a warm light. "Thank you," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
And with that, Julian leaned in, his lips meeting Astrid’s in a deep, passionate kiss. Astrid’s eyes fluttered closed as she felt the kiss, her body melting into Julian’s.
As they kissed, Astrid’s orange juice sat forgotten on the nightstand, the glass condensing with dew. Julian’s hands roamed over Astrid’s body, his fingers tracing the curves of her lingerie.
Astrid moaned softly, her body arching into Julian’s touch. His lips trailed down her neck, his tongue tracing the curve of her collarbone.
Just as things were getting heated, Julian’s phone rang, shrill and insistent. He groaned, his lips still trailing over Astrid’s skin.
Astrid pulled back, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "You should get that," she said, her voice husky.
Julian sighed, his eyes locked onto Astrid’s. "I don’t want to," he said, his voice low and gravelly.
But the persistent ringing of the phone finally got to him, and he reluctantly picked up. Then Astrid listened as he spoke to Ryan, his voice low and even.
As Julian listened to Ryan’s words, his expression turned serious. "I will be right there," he said, his voice firm.
Astrid nodded, her eyes sparkling with understanding. "You should go," she said, her voice soft.
Julian looked at her, "but I don’t want to leave you," he argued.
Astrid smiled, her eyes glinting with mischief. "I will be fine," she said, her voice husky. "Besides, I have a few things to take care of while you are gone."
Julian’s eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched in a low growl. "What kind of things?" Julian asked, already having a second thought.
Astrid just smiled, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "None of your concern,"
