Accidental Marriage With Mr Billioniare
Chapter 258: MEETING ZACH

Chapter 258: MEETING ZACH

Astrid jumped up from her seat, covering her grandfather’s frail form, along with Maren with traces of fear in their eyes.

Maren’s eyes narrowed, her voice firm. "How did you get in here Dad?" Maren’s voice trembled as she looked around.

Landon flashed out a sly grin, his eyes darting between Astrid and Maren."Wow, so your relationship with Astrid is so close that she knows this?"

But Astrid cut him off already, not having good feelings about his appearance here. "What exactly do you want, Landon?"

Landon’s expression turned serious, his voice low. "I don’t need much, Astrid. Just a name for myself, my bitch daughters can’t do it aside from you who have a close relationship with the Logans directly."

He drew nearer to her, "I want my name cleared of being a killer. I want to be able to walk freely, without hiding in the shadows."

Maren scoffed, her voice dripping with disdain. "Really? You’ve been a killer since my birth. What makes you think Astrid can just clear your name?"

Landon’s eyes gleamed with malice as he pulled out his pistol, pointing it at Donald’s fragile form.

Astrid’s heart skipped a beat, her eyes wide with fear. But Landon didn’t pull the trigger. Instead, he withdrew the pistol and took a deep breath.

He took in a long deep breath, "Or maybe..." he mumbled as he pulled out his phone, showing Astrid a video.

"Wh... what... how?" Astrid words got stuck in her voice. It was Zach, meeting with some men, and then the red light of a bullet shone on him.

"I can get him killed before you even get the chance to have a father."

Astrid’s eyes widened in horror, her mind racing with fear. Maren’s eyes were wide with shock, her face pale.

Astrid swallowed hard, trying to keep her voice steady. "I will have a private discussion with you, Landon. But please, leave now. I promise I will talk to you and see what I can do."

Landon’s smirk returned, his eyes glinting with triumph. "I will take your word for it, Astrid. But remember, I am not a patient man."

He lifted his hands about to pat Astrid but Maren, irritated by this, slapped Landon’s hand away. Landon shot Maren a sneaky smile before turning to leave.

As soon as Landon was gone, Maren turned to Astrid, her voice low and urgent. "What are you doing, Astrid? You can’t trust him, tell Julian."

Astrid shook her head, "I promised I would take care of it, Maren. Please, keep this from Julian. I need to do this on my own."

Maren’s eyes were filled with concern, but she nodded, her voice barely above a whisper. "Okay, Astrid. But be careful, and don’t hide any movement you have with me, I am his daughter. I know him more than you."

Astrid shot Maren a beaming smile, "Of course I will, Maren. I need to be strong now. I won’t continue depending on Julian. This fight is mine."

The door swung open and Julian and Miles walked into the room, but they didn’t miss the intense room as they walked in, their faces raised questions.

"What happened?" Julian asked, his eyes scanning the room.

Astrid and Maren shook their heads, pretending nothing had occurred. Astrid sat back beside her grandfather, her eyes fixed on his frail form.

Julian’s eyes narrowed, but he didn’t push the issue. Instead, he turned to Astrid, his voice gentle. "What’s wrong, Astrid?"

Astrid’s eyes met Julian’s, her voice firm. "I want to visit Zach."

Julian’s eyes widened in surprise. "Do you want me to go with you?"

Astrid shook her head instantly. "No, Julian. You need to go to the office. You have been missing a lot of work lately. It is becoming hard for Ryan."

Julian’s eyes searched Astrid’s face, but he didn’t argue. Instead, he nodded, his voice gentle. "Okay, Astrid. Miles will take you to visit Zach, then... since it would be an avenue for you to blend in."

Astrid nodded, her eyes fixed on Julian’s. "And Julian, please help Maren get to her company. She needs to get back to work also." Maren gave her a strained look but Astrid avoided it.

Julian nodded, his eyes never leaving Astrid’s face. "I will take care of that, Astrid."

Astrid recalled one more thing and called Julian back, "Julian... I want your best security stationed here, around the ward. No breathing space please."

Julian’s eyes narrowed, but he nodded, his voice firm. "I’ll take care of it, Astrid."

Just then, Mr. Jerkins walked into the room, his face somber. Astrid’s eyes met his. "I will trust my grandfather’s care to you, for now, Mr. Jerkins." With that, she placed a small kiss on Donald’s forehead.

Astrid stepped out of the car and onto the grand driveway of Adam’s mansion.

Miles offered his hand, helping her down from the car. She aired the mansion and she couldn’t help but think back to how she always sees the picture of this mansion online where she is standing in front of it.

As they made their way into the mansion, guards and staff members bowed their heads in respect, their whispers and murmurs filling the air.

"Is she back to take her position?" one of them whispered.

"Does this mean Madam Mattie won’t be living here anymore?" another staff member wondered aloud.

Astrid ignored the commotion, her eyes fixed on the living room where Zach was sitting. As she entered the room, Zach’s eyes widened in shock, and he rose from his seat, his arms outstretched.

"Astrid!" he exclaimed, his voice trembling with emotion but stopped midway wondering if he was too fast in wanting to make friends with her.

But before he could drop his arms, Astrid had already embraced him tightly, snuggling into his chest.

"Finally, I have a father who will care for me," she murmured, her voice barely audible.

Zach’s eyes welled up with tears as he held his daughter close. He felt like he could cry out in joy, knowing that he had been given a second chance to make things right.

He immediately ordered the kitchen to prepare some food, his hands assessing Astrid’s face, taking in every feature. "You look just like your mother," he said, his voice choking with emotion.

He had always had a soft spot for Astrid right from the moment he set eyes on her and would always push it away until the night he got to know she was the daughter.

Tears slipped from his eyes as he thought about the past, about how he had hurt Astrid’s mother and lost her. But now, he had been given a chance to redeem himself, to make amends for his past mistakes.

As they sat down to eat, Zach grabbed Astrid’s hands, pleading for her forgiveness. "I don’t know how to earn your love, but I will do my best to try," he said, his eyes filled with sincerity.

Meanwhile, Mattie stood on the stairs, watching the scene unfold before her eyes. She felt like an outsider like she didn’t belong in this family anymore. Her eyes narrowed, her lip trembling with anger and hurt.

She ran to her room, slamming the door shut behind her. She began searching through her cabinets, pulling out a paper that Landon had given her before he left for her to reach out to him.

She didn’t care if he loved her or not, but she was willing to work with him to destroy everyone who was causing her pain.

"Astrid, I will destroy you."
