Chapter 254: HIS OFFICE
Chapter 254: HIS OFFICE
Julian’s car pulled up in front of the hospital, and he stepped out, his eyes fixed on the entrance. This was the only time she could take away from Astrid since she had been sedated.
He walked swiftly inside, his long strides eating up the distance as he made his way to Stephan’s ward. Like always everyone bowed seeing him, they wouldn’t want to get on his last nerve, knowing how much power he has over the hospital.
As he entered the ward, he was met with the sight of Stephan lying motionless in bed, his face pale and his lips pressed together. Julian’s eyes narrowed, his concern for his friend evident on his face, but the crazy thought of what his friend had hidden from him made his concern disperse just as it had come.
He says beside him with a small smile,
"I learned that a comatose patient can hear what anyone says, they just can’t move," he mumbled, staring at his friend who still didn’t move a bit.
"Well, I am using this opportunity to let you know that I have some evidence that can make you go through hell." he grabbed his hand.
"This is the hand which you had used in causing harm to my wife, not just that bit but also discarding evidence that would lead to you." he let out a painful crack.
"Stephan, you are a doctor, you were supposed to save lives, not harm people." he took in a deep breath letting go of his hand as he stood back up.
His back turned to him, "If you loved Mattie so much you should have let me know, I don’t think I had loved her to the extent of coveting her for myself when I know you can also give her the craving of love and happiness she had always wished for." he took in a deep breath, hands tucked in his pocket.
"I gave you a chance to be with her even a year ago, you should have just come out and hurt my wife to that extent because you want to do everything, Mattie wanted."
"You broke our friendship, our brother, you broke lives..." he mumbled, what Julain didn’t notice was how Stephan’s hands had twitched at this.
"I loved you and Miles like a brother that I never had to think twice before trusting you." Stephan’s hands twitched again, this time small tears slipping down his eyes.
"Regain consciousness and accept your punishment, you brought whatever consequences you are about to face," he mumbled last about walking out the door pushed open.
Just then, a group of doctors walked in, their eyes widening as they caught sight of Julian. They bowed respectfully, acknowledging his presence.
"Mr. Logan, sir," one of the doctors said, his voice low. "We never knew you were inside."
Julian’s eyes locked onto the doctor. "How is he? Why isn’t he awake yet?" he asked, instead.
The doctor hesitated before looking up at Julian, he swallowed hard.
"We’re not entirely sure, sir. It’s possible that there was some internal damage that we didn’t catch, or maybe... maybe he’s just not responding to treatment."
Julian’s eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched in frustration. He looked back at Stephan.
"Stephan needs to get well quickly and regain consciousness," Julian said, his voice low and urgent. "I have a lot I want to discuss with him."
The doctors nodded, their faces somber. Julian glanced at them, his eyes flickered.
"I want to see Stephan’s office," he announced, making the doctors exchange nervous glances, clearly unsure of what to do.
"Sir... we can’t go inside Dr. Stephan without his..." Julian’s eyes narrowed, his face darkening.
"If you want to keep your jobs, I suggest you lead me to Stephan’s office right now," he cut them off.
The doctors swallowed hard, their faces pale. They nodded hastily, quickly leading Julian out of the ward and down the corridor to Stephan’s office.
As they reached the office, Julian’s eyes fell on the locked door. He turned to the doctors, his face incredulous.
"What’s going on here?" he demanded.
One of the doctors hesitated before speaking up. "The chairman ordered the office to be locked, sir. He said it was to ensure that Dr. Stephan’s privacy was respected while he recovered."
Julian’s eyes flashed with anger, but he nodded curtly, Stephan is also one of the sons of the top five rich men in the city, also being the best friend of the owner of the hospital he had gained a lot of reports from the hospital.
"I want the keys," he announced. The doctors nodded hastily, scurrying off to retrieve the keys.
Finally, the doctors returned with the keys, and Julian’s eyes lit up with triumph. He unlocked the door, pushing it open to reveal Stephan’s office.
Julian’s eyes scanned the room, his gaze falling on the familiar surroundings.
"I will be here for a while," he said to the doctors, his voice firm. "I don’t want to be disturbed."
The doctors nodded hastily, backing out of the office and closing the door behind them.
Julian walked into Stephan’s office, his eyes scanning the room. He trailed his fingers over the desk, his smirk growing wider as he took in the familiar surroundings.
He sat on Stephan’s seat, taking in a deep breath, he wasn’t the kind to mess with because he also had a sly way in his hands when anyone messed with him.
His finger kept trailing down the desk and as he reached the edge of the desk, his fingers stumbled upon something.
He pulled it out and it turned out to be a voice recorder. Julian’s eyes lit up with triumph as he pulled out the device, his smirk growing even wider.
"I thought you were smart, Stephan," Julian said to himself, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "But I guess I am still smarter than you."
Julian’s mind flashed back to the moment he had planted the voice recorder, his suspicions about Stephan’s ever since the first time he got the videos from his investigator with Stephan taking Astrid from the tower.
Also when he always noticed how Astrid acted strangely around him, he had his thoughts but decided to find out things himself.
He had almost forgotten he planted this in his office, it is funny how Stephan was still so stupid to find out.
Julian stood up from the chair, his eyes trailing upwards to the bookshelf beside him.
Then He pulled out a book, and a small camera fell out, revealing a hidden compartment. Julian’s smirk grew even wider as he pulled out the contents of a small device that looked like a bug.
Julian took a deep breath, his eyes scanning the room one last time before he stepped out into the hallway. He met the doctors outside, his finger pressed to his lips in a silent warning.
"Not a word," he whispered, his eyes glinting with a warning. "If I find out that anyone has breathed a word about this, there will be consequences."
The doctors nodded hastily, their faces pale with fear. Julian’s eyes narrowed, his gaze lingering on them for a moment before he turned and walked away.
